Denny’s

Food is adequate. HOWEVER, the antiseptic bathroom smell upon entering is nauseating. After a while, one seems to get used to it. There MUST be something that can be done about the smell!

Since the remodel it smells like POOP! We haven’t been here since before the remodel and it didn’t smell this bad before. The cooks kept staring at me which made me uncomfortable. The manager scolded our waitress in front of us which was unprofessional and I felt so bad for the waitress. The place wasn’t packed but it still took a while to get our drinks and after 2 refills also we were missing a place setting. The food was good nothing to be over excited about. I doubt we will go back there, poop and pancakes don’t go well together

It’s not that good and I don’t recommend going there because their food is not that yummy in any ones tummy

12 minutes until the server arrived at my table. 7 more minutes to get my water. The food, which wasn’t the warmest, was given to me 28 minutes after I sat down. Not a complicated order.
Doubt I will return.

It’s Denny’s so don’t expect much from the staff or food. That being said, this is one of Denny’s «heritage» locations so it ties in with their slogan «America’s diner» and fits in with Upland’s local ordinances. Foothill Blvd is historic U.S. Route 66, so plenty of businesses and restaurants have been refurbished in a 1950s style, this Denny’s being one of them. Everything inside is new (ish) and it kinda feels like you’re in Lou’s Café from Back to the Future, if you squint. Although it’s in a strip mall parking lot, they entrance faces the historic street and the parkway so the view is nice. It’s one of the nicer, preferred locations if you have to eat at Denny’s.

I can not believe the incompetence of the staff at this location. To start, I had to grab a place setting because only 2 were on our table for a party of 3, second usually a dinner salad comes before the meal but it came with the meal even though I asked for it before, when it was talking a while I asked again and he still waited to bring it with the meal. And finally I ordered a cheeseburger and there was no Cheese. I was told that it didn’t come with cheese. I am confused as to if I ask for a cheeseburger how dose it not come with cheese. Yoshio is definitely the worst server I have ever had. I am surprised he is still employed with is lack of customer service and basic common sense

They are not open 24 hrs. Tried visiting at 1:00 am and they were closed. Don’t advertise as 24 hrs if you aren’t.

The place smells like a sewer i feel walked into a porta potty!!! Claire our waitress is nice tho. Just got here and I hope we don’t stay long.

This was a nasty place it smelt nasty. It smelt like poop. The pancakes were nasty not right. But the seats were really comfortable. Make place better

I love this Denny’s! This location is by far one of the best I have ever been to. The interior looks like it is all brand new. They are very clean. Except the high chairs. They all look run down and are dirty so we didn’t use the one they gave us.
When we first walked through the doors, nobody was around to seat is so I decided to go wash my hands and take the kid to use the restroom. By the time I came out, the mister and baby were already seated with drinks. Our server Midori came right over ready to take our order. I wasn’t ready so she came back within r a few minutes. After placing our order, our food was out pretty fast. Our food was cooked perfectly and very flavorful.
The only thing I didn’t like was their seating. The mister and I are a bit on the tall side and were seated in a small side booth. 2 small people eating alone were sat in the huge booths they have on the end that can seat 10 people. They also had 2 people sitting in the middle tables that holds 8 but 3 people in a small booth with a chair on the end. And they were only using one side of the restaurant. Other than that it’s pretty decent.

Staff nice and the place is clean but the food is another story. Ordered meat lovers omelette and didn’t get much «MEAT «. My husband got burnt toast and a little extra gift on it a piece of ham on it in his butter. So that’s where my meat went! When you go to Denny’s you expect so so food fast but this time it didn’t even meet Denny’s standards.

All the staff are very friendly and fast service… better than most dennys in Long Beach.

I went to Denny’s two days ago an it was horrible the food was horrible the cheesecake was bad an they still served it to me an also when we where paying the cooks in the back where staring at my mothers an girlfriends butt an boobs this place is very unprofessional an would not recommend this place to anyone

Terrible Denny’s !!!
I tried using a coupon that was emailed to me three weeks ago by the Denny’s Corporation, they would not honor this coupon here. The manager on duty «Liz.» does not know the difference between a Copy Right and an Expiration date. She claimed my coupon was printed three years ago (Copy Right 2013). I am sure the Denny’s Corporation is going to print these promotions as soon as the copy rights are granted. I think not!!!
It takes at least 6 months or more after a Copy Right has been granted to be able to put into effect out into the public. This manager did not have the curtsy to even see me. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The waitress Nancy/​Cashier was going back and forth finding out the information. Although the restaurant had only 5 customers in total in the whole restaurant at the time, the Manager still could not see me. She was too busy with her personal phone call.
The irony of all this was that Nancy scanned the Denny’s coupon bar code and it was valid. Yet they would not accept it because the Copy Right was 2013.
In addition to all of this… The restaurant was dirty, the men’s restroom was dirty, and my sandwich lettuce was brown edged, not fresh.
This restaurant needs a competent manager.

Normally I have always been happy at this dennys… But today is a total different story… First the regular staff wasn’t working the front… The girl working it today right off told us to wait… Didn’t take our name or anything but the people that came in after she did… We could see there were empty tables… Then we they finally seated us, the table was sticky… Then we asked if they could clean the table and after it was still sticky… They only wiped it with water… Then once we had our food, they sat more people right next to us even though there was empty tables everywhere… I know I will think twice before going there again.

Not a place for a date but good for family dinner or breakfast any day. The 2,4,6,8 menu is good. They change it up so you don’t always have the same things to choose from. Always love the pancake puppies.

Jamie was doing double duty last night, serving as both the door greater and a waitress. The wife and I came here last night for a quick dessert. Had the Caramel apple crisp with ice cream and the New York cheesecake with strawberries and whip. Caramel crisp was very tasty, but I wished it was a little warmer. Cheesecake was almost frozen, but the strawberry’s were delicious. Not sure if they were pre-​frozen or not, but they tasted like real strawberries in their own syrup. Service by Jamie made our desert eating experience very pleasant.

It does earn the 1 star because our server was cool.
It was very early and the place was empty so they were quite gossipy. I ordered the Pancake meal with the new cinnamon pancakes! Gross! Terrible and have nothing on IHOP. Don’t bother. My sausage and my bacon was old and reheated. Yuk!
To top it off, the place was freezing and my food instantly cold.

Arrrgghhhh. I literally can’t stand bad customer service. I live around the corner from this Denny’s, so I’ve been here a few times already. All the other times, it was a typical visit. Nothing special, you just get your food, eat and go.
Tonight, we roll through for a late dinner. It’s effing 10:30 on a Wednesday. It’s not busy and at least 3 servers are roaming around with their thumbs up their asses. You’re looking at us for 10 minutes but you’re not going to come over to at least say hi?
I’m sorry, I’m out.

First time at this Denny’s. Our server Jamie L was very nice and always checking up on us and bringing us refills when she seen are drinks were low. The bathrooms where clean and smelled good. All around a good dining experience tonight w my wife here at this Denny’s. We usually go to ontario and there’s always just a mess down there. Not here.
