Srivastava Shanta MD

We visited Dr. Shanta for the first time yesterday and were very unhappy. We are having twins and were looking forward to meeting the OB for the first time and seeing the little guys. The office staff was very stressed and disorganized. The office itself was not clean and appeared to have very outdated equipment (compared to HRC, which was our phenomenal fertility clinic). We arrived 45 minutes early to complete paperwork and still were made to wait (naked) for 70 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. They charged us cash up front and didn’t appear to run our insurance at all. They needed to draw my blood before I left and that was a giant mess, with blood dripping all over the table. We will not be going back.

Horrible receptionist. 1950 reception window, office smells bad, wants money first. Talks in front of whole reception area, looks like never heard of HIPPA.

I have to say I am quite surprised to see the negative reviews. When I found Dr. Shanta I had been to numerous other doctors looking for help to no avail. I had been experiencing monthly bacterial infections and not one doctor could help diagnose the problem nor had any recommendations on how I could cure it. I was told I was just going to have to live with it.
During my first visit with Dr. Shanta she was very caring and sensitive about the subject and I felt very comfortable addressing my issues with her. She was able to immediately diagnose the problem and came up with a game plan to help maintain the infections. I am proud and happy to say I have been infection free for 2 years now because of her. I genuinely love Dr. Shanta and would recommend her to anyone. She has been my saving grace and find myself very sad to have to find a new doctor because of a change in my insurance. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Dr. Shanta appeared nice when I initially started going to her. I had uterine fibroids and wanted them removed however; I was not interested in having a hysterectomy. I am a registered nurse so I was suggesting some procedures that interest me. Every procedure I suggested she stated she wasn’t familiar with. I have been in the business a while and have seen many botched open abdominal surgeries. Not saying she would have botched my surgery, nevertheless, I wasn’t taking any chances. I went home, thought about it, and opted to not go the more invasive route. I sought out a radiologist that does the UFE (uterine fibroid embolization). I guess Dr. Shanta was not pleased with my decision because she would not sign the order for me to have the procedure. I made my insurance carrier aware of her practices and I will never go back to her.

This is the best gynecologist I’ve been to! Didn’t have to wait super long and the receptionists Carmen and Denise are so friendly and personal. Dr. Shanta is great and super helpful and made me feel comfortable. I recommend this place to everyone.

Have to go to this dr because in network but she is horrible!!! Receptionist is extremely rude, slams window on people and she spoke to me and 2 others in very condescending way. I also heard dr in hallway talking rudely about me while I was waiting naked in exam room for 45 minutes. As soon as I get all clear from one more round of tests I am NEVER coming back and recommend everyone else stays away!!!

I’m currently a proud mother of 2 healthy little girls. But before my 2 girls, I waspregnant with a baby I would end up miscarrying. Dr. Shanta was the Dr. I had chosen. To my dismay I had no idea how disconnected she was to her patients. 1^st of all I never met her. Why? Because her mid wife is the only one in the office handling all her patients. I went in about 3 – 4 times and she was never available. I went in for a pregnancy check up when Her midwife realizes their wasn’t a heart beat? After a day of grueling blood testing they confirmed the baby had passed. The next is obvious I would need a DNC to remove the fetus. However since Dr. Shanta wasn’t on schedule to work. She had her midwife tell me I needed to go home and continue to have this dead fetus in me for over the weekend and she would do the DNC on Monday morning Dr. Shanta did not consider it was a Thursday afternoon. She was not on schedule and that was that. Inever questioned her. However I came to find out how serious and life threatening this could be. I called her office frantic and Dr. Shanta still refused to do a DNC on me and said it was not a big deal to have a dead fetus for days at a time. Finally the light at the end of the Tunnel! Dr. Tomas Lee agreed to perform the DNC that Thursday evening. I wouldn’t recommend Dr. Shanta to pregnant Dog let alone a human being.
