Sweetness By Tacy

A package arrived in the mail today. My friend sent me a dozen whoopi pies from Sweetness By Tacy. Holy smokes. I am a snob when it come to baked goods and these were fantastic. I’d give 6-​stars if I could.
I don’t think of myself as a huge whoopi pie eater because the filling is usually too sugary and the cake second rate. But not so in this case. They had to-​die-​for buttercream frosting between two layers of really good pumpkin cake. The buttercream wasn’t overly sweet and had a subtle hint of salt, which I adore in baked goods. The pumpkin cake was so fresh, like each spice had just been added and it had been recently pulled from the over.
Tacy’s baked goods taste award winning like they should be on the cover of a magazine or in a fancy Manhattan bakery. I think mail order whoopie pies are going to be the gift I give friends from now on.

I can not say enough good things about Tacy or her cakes. I found Sweetness by Tacy a few weeks ago while searching online for bakeries near Upper Black Eddy where some girlfriends and I were headed for a friend’s birthday getaway weekend. Tacy responded immediately and suggested a scrumptious-​sounding fleur de sol cake: devils food, chocolate ganache, toasted almonds and salted caramel filling with Italian buttercream icing. I specified that my friend wasn’t very girly-​girly, and we threw out some ideas that didn’t involve pink flowered icing.
I picked up the cake to find that Tacy whipped out this gorgeous autumnal design of leaves and acorns. It was absolutely perfect. And when we finally cut into it? OMG. It was amazing. The buttercream especially was magical. The whole cake was unbelievably delicious, with the perfect blend of sweet and salt. I’m shocked that we didn’t scarf the whole cake down in a night — but luckily for us we had the whole weekend to enjoy it.
Honestly, if she can work this magic with what I expected to be a relatively simple birthday cake, I can’t even imagine what she could do with a wedding cake. Kinda makes me want to get married all over again so I can find out! With reasonable prices, kind and personalized service and top-​notch ingredients, I hope and expect Tacy’s business will go far!
