Home on leave from Fort Leonard Wood where I’ve been getting awful haircuts for a year. Was looking forward to going to the Modern Man on Gennesse St but found out earlier today that they were closed. After looking around Unilocal and Google to find a decent barber that does only mens’ hair, I came across the Union Station Barber Shop.
Grant was easy to talk to and gave me a no BS haircut while asking me questions and explaining how he could make it better. He knew exactly what I needed and my wife loves it, too. And it was only $ 12!
In case your confused (like I was) the barber shop is literally inside the train station. Walk into the lobby and you’ll see it back near the restrooms.

Great haircut at a reasonable price. I prefer to trust the barber to produce a nice looking haircut without excessive detail. After asking about length, general style, and part (i.e., left/right/center) I received a professional haircut, which was quick without sacrificing attention to detail.

Everyone has their own barber, but if you’re looking for a new one or if you’re downtown and in need of a trim– swing by this place. Grant and Leo are good smart barbers; easy conversation and a sharp cut is what you’ll get. In the timeless Union Station this place feels like hair has been getting cut here for decades. Don’t miss out on the hot shave.

It’s great to see this barbershop still in business. Leo and Grant opened it up about a year ago. I got a great haircut and really close shave. I can see I’m going to be a loyal customer. The shave was very close and it didn’t feel like the razor was even touching my face. Great conversation too. Highly recommended. It’s one of only three barbershops left in a train station in the United States, let’s keep this one going!
