Essenza Salon

From out of town and was here for a wedding. I made an appointment here after reading about them on Unilocal.
First, I do believe the girls are all talented and seem to really care what the customer wants. That much was apparent. I made an appointment 2 – 3 weeks in advance. Got two different text messages confirming my appointment time a week prior and day before my appointment. Both times I confirmed. Then I walk in the salon and find out my stylist had «double booked» because she thought my appointment time was different. (Even though they told me my time was always correct and hadn’t changed). So after waiting 30 minutes, I finally got seated.
Originally I just wanted a blow out by after visiting the venue and the wind was out of control, I decided to ask if they could put my hair up. They did a decent job. Nothing spectacular, but she did listen to what I wanted, how my hair reacts to things, and even fixed a problem area. My hair generally held up well that night and the total was $ 65.
When I left, there was another girl who was also waiting about 30 minutes for my stylist.
The lack of scheduling is totally inexcusable. Because it was a wedding I was on a tight schedule and 30 minutes mattered and was such a waste of my time. Not to mention the woman after me waiting — poor thing.
Overall, salon is beautiful and clean and staff are exceptionally kind. Hair is decent though nothing to wow me. I’d probably go back for a blow out if I didn’t mind waiting and that’s all I wanted. Probably go elsewhere for anything else.

Amazing cut, information and styling by Drea. I felt that I was listened too but, as the professional Drea knew what would work for my hair. I highly recommend this salon. I already booked a return appointment.

I recommend Essenza Salon to all my friends. Rachel does amazing job. She is friendly and helpful and takes great care of my hair. She gives complementary hand massages while my color processes and she also gives wonderful scalp massages with my hair wash. I have been coming to her for over a year and I highly recommend her for all your hair needs. The rest of the staff is super friendly and helpful. Everyone is always happy there and the atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. I look forward to my appointments at Essenza every month.

Top notch salon, top notch staff, top notch service, top notch product. You won’t be disappointed. As a client who has been going here for years, let me tell you… they stay consistent in the service and professionalism they provide. Drea is one of a kind with a vision to provide excellence in all she does and all her salon achieves and they are all GREAT at what they do! I always walk out feeling like a movie star. Visiting from L.A. to attend a wedding. Short story, I highly recommend this location for the value and service. Longer story: I selected this salon based on the reviews and professionalism of the receptionist who answered the phone. Angelica was my stylist. I had a wash, dry and style– all for $ 35! That is unheard of in LA. The wash was great and included an essential oil scalp massage. She was gentle when blow drying my hair and the style was a perfect blend classic voluminous waves with a touch of vintage s waves. It stayed all through the wedding, and with a touch up, even through the end of the next day– which included a 5 hour drive home.

I had such a great experience at this salon. The staff is so nice and accommodating. I was immediately offered water when I walked jn. They pamper you so much with hand massages while waiting for your color to set. Drea and Kim are so sweet and make you feel like you are priority every moment that you are there. I definitely will be making this my regular salon.

Just got my hair done with Cameron! he got my blonde to the color that I’ve been wanting-​a nice neutral creamy beige and it looks absolutely beautiful! He’s truly passionate about getting it right and pays very close attention to what he is doing! I would highly recommend this salon and booking with Cameron especially!

Stylist Rae (Rachel E) did a great job listening to how I wanted my hair cut and gave me exactly what I wanted. She gave me an awesome hand massage while I processed and when she rinsed me it didn’t hurt a bit (I’m normally VERY tender headed). She as an individual gets 5 stars!
Essenza Salon in downtown Vacaville gets a 4 out of 5 from me. The salon is in a great location and is sleek and I love the natural product concept. The only reason I’m giving a 4 instead of a 5 is the make up stand; it looked slightly neglected.

I had a bad (damaging) perm experience there so I will not be going back. Typically, I don’t do much to my hair and I felt that I was not valued the same as those who get full services all the time.

New to town and found Essenza on Unilocal.I had a great experience with Cameron. He was fantastic and loved how much attention he paid to the details. Got a trim, wash and blow dry. Clean and professional atmosphere and fun conversation! :)

I am posting this review as a follow-​up. Andrea the owner of the salon, personally called me and set up an appointment to address my hair concerns. She was great! After showing her the pictures and talking with her about my concerns, she was able to give me that perfect blonde I had been looking for. Andrea or «Drea» was very sweet and I appreciated her taking the time to work with me.
Also as a follow up to my previous review, I do have to say that personality wise, Cameron was great, I only wish our vision & communication were on the same page. I would absolutely use him again for cuts or other services, but for blonde I will schedule with Andrea.

I was very impressed with the customer service i received here! I was offered a beverage upon walking in; the staff was very cheerful and pleasent! I had a short consultation with my stylist, then had a cut. I got full color/​highlights i even received a hand massage and scalp massage. It was a very pleasent experience and my hair looks great. Now that i look at it, i wish i would have gotten more prominent colors, but that is of no fault to the hairdresser. She did a wonderful job, and really took her time. I feel she went above and beyond. And by the way, the products used smell amazing! :) the other important factor was that she gave me tips on how to style at home. It was a bit pricey for me, but the customer service, teamed with the great products used was well worth it. If you want to be PAMPERED, come here!

Love getting my hair done here very friendly and affordable. Rachel does such an amazing job! I won’t go anywhere else from now on. I absolutely love the product they use, it smells really nice and leaves my hair feeling great.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Essenza Salon! I feel so pampered when I come in to get my hair done. I’m greeted with a friendly smile and immediately made comfortable. Everyone is highly professional and the customer service is excellent.
My stylist, Deanna Garcia is wonderful! I trust her implicitly with my hair and she always gives me a fresh and new look. You get a fabulous hand massage while your hair is being colored and the scalp massage with the shampooing is so relaxing. Plus, they use Aveda products!

Great service at the Essenza Salon! I didn’t have to wait long for an appointment; the location is clean and has a very nice ambience; and the staff is polite and professional. My stylist was Deanna. She did a wonderful job cutting and styling my hair along with waxing my eyebrows. The soothing head and neck massage during my hair wash was nice, too! I highly recommend Essenza Salon and my stylist, and would definitely refer a friend!

I called and made an appointment and although I had to wait two weeks, I am glad I went. The staff is mostly young and fashionable. I went to Kim and she was very friendly but also professional. She did an excellent job with my dark color (no stains on my head or face.) The price was right and the experience was calm and engaging. I will definitely return next time I need a cut and color. She even styled my hair and curled it which was great because I was heading to a holiday party for work a few hours after my appointment. My hair held for the entire night and she even took the time to show me the proper curling technique to use at home.

I usually drive to fairfield for my hair appointments, but lately it’s been too hot and I’ve been too tired to go that far.
I first came in to buy a product and met Rachel, a stylist, who helped me find it and we briefly talked about my hair. I’m pregnant and have had a hard time blowdrying and straightening my hair at home because I’ve been too tired and too hot. I have naturally curly, processed hair and it takes me too long to do it myself.
This salon is close to my house and I always have an easy time finding parking downtown, so I decided to give it a try one day. I called the morning of and was about to get in that day for a shampoo/​blowdry with Rachel.
I lovvvvved my service! I was offered water and tea and the receptionist brought me my water in an actual glass. The salon is nice and cool inside and I wasn’t hot or uncomfortable even with the blow drying and flat ironing.
My shampoo was amazing. The scalp massage was so nice that I almost fell asleep. I felt like I had booked a massage without actually booking a massage. It was seriously amazing.
When the blow drying was about to start she brought me magazines and before I knew it the styling was done and it was perfect. There is two hour parking outside where I chose to park during the week and I was done in an hour and a half, and as quick as it was, I felt like I had been super pampered and felt so relaxed!
Just love this place and will return!

This is an Aveda salon, so right off the bat you know the product is great. Aveda uses naturally derived colour products, which I love because with all my hair, I only want to use the best products on it, especially when colouring. I have been here more than once, but came a few months ago YEARS apart from my last visit. I had an ombré job done at a different salon in November 2013, but didn’t totally love it. I came to Essenza in May 2014 to see Drea, (who is not only the master stylist here, but the owner as well), hoping she could help make my ombré look more multi-​dimensional. She definitely got the job done! She coloured it wonderfully & added some layers. Not only is the work done here AMAZING, but their customer service is great. I got a great hand massage while sittting with the colouring product in my hair. They offer you water or tea while you are waiting & during your visit. Essenza is not a cheap salon, but I prefer to pay the price when it comes to my hair because it is my pride & joy! I don’t let anyone touch my hair. I went 2 years without cutting or colouring it because I was so worried that anyone who attempted to, would fail & ruin it! After my experience in November at the salon who did my ombré job, I had almost lost hope. But I met Drea through my church, & decided to give Essenza a shot. I’m so glad I did. No one else will ever touch my hair again. I get compliments on my hair all the time & refer everyone I know to Essenza Salon!

I got an ombré done here by Rachel who did an awesome job on my hair. She listened and understood exactly what I wanted and definitely will be coming back! Twisted of Hair which is right next door didn’t listen to what I wanted even though I showed pics and explained, I am very happy Rachel was able to correct their mistake and make my hair look amazing. I have gotten many compliments on my hair so far. Thank you Rachel again!
