The food is always amazing, my favorite dish is the eggplant parm! The service is fantastic as well! All of the servers are super sweet and you can tell they love their jobs. I went in last week and saw that they now have daily specials which I think is a great idea! Love having the option of getting pesto sauce on a wednesday, I typically don’t go out that night, but only being able to order pesto on a Wednesday might get me off of my butt. My only complaint is that they charge $ 1 for sides of ranch! My whole family loves ranch, and when we are done ordering sides, it adds $ 5 to our bill.

I give a two star because I know what this restaurant is capable of. I hope this is taken as advice when I say the pizza sauce and dough are bad … something has changed and needs fixing fast … when we received a chicken sandwich the breast was cut in half the normal size the steak sandwich flavor has gone down hill too … customer of 35 yrs + .WTH get it together Pietros

Just ate here again last weekend. Service was awesome, food was great, and the remodel came out very nice. Good family atmosphere. Keep up the good work.

Best pizza around! Love the new black! And everyone is so nice! Been coming here for the past 30 years in Vacaville and will continue to do so with my friends and family! You can tell they put a lot of pride and Patience into running the business, after you get past the idea that’s it’s a little on the small side to have a bar, pietros will always be my #1 family food choice in Vacaville!

Haven’t been here in a while, won’t be back for even longer. Food was mediocre at best. Our server, Dawn, was trying to usher us out as soon as the water came. Pietro’s has gone down hill. Evelyns for us from now on.

Love the pizza. The monthly pizza night is courtesy of their mouth watering pies. Can’t speak to the rest of the menu but if you’re looking for a nice thick pizza this is it.

Everything here is SO good! Ordered the Caprese Salad and Minestrone soup on my first visit. Both were excellent. Then on our 2nd adventure here, my husband and I shared the Special Pizza and we devoured it! Tons of flavor with the meats and sauce and the cheese was so tasty! Great and friendly service too!

This place is always busy whenever I come, so it must be a good sign. So far, I’ve only ordered the fettuccine and that’s really all I come here craving for. Servings are plentiful and the alfredo sauce is rich and creamy. Yum! They also provide complimentary bread with lots of butter on it, which I gobble up when I want extra carbs. My husband got the chicken marsala and it was pretty tasty as well, although he would have liked it if there was more pasta with the dish. Twice that I’ve been here, I’ve tried to order a side of broccoli to go with my fettuccine which they have on their menu, but they didn’t have any. They offered green beans instead. I don’t mind if they don’t have broccoli, but if it is not something that is normally offered anymore, they should remove it off the menu. Service is friendly, but often slow. Even though the place is busy, there are several servers just standing around chatting because their tables are already taken care of while other servers are scurrying around trying to keep up. It would be nice to see the non-busy servers help out some of the super busy servers so customers aren’t waiting around for a water refill or their check. Overall, will definitely be back the next time I want some fettuccine and bread!

Another Vacaville joint that people hype over but again, these people clearly don’t get out much. I’m Italian. I’m a chef. I’d have to say that the food here was worse than Olive Garden. I ordered the Chicken Piccata and my girl got the seafood pasta. The chicken piccata was bland and flavorless. The shrimp in the seafood pasta was over cooked and rubbery. To add insult to injury, the price of these two dishes were roughly $ 25 each. That is way over-priced for small portions and bland rubbery food. And for many of these dishes, salad is not included. I’ve spent less on a meal at finer establishments and that included lobster or king crab. The waitress that served us was good. There’s no problems with service except that it took forever to get our food. The garlic bread was blah. Tasteless. Tasted like fake butter. There was no olive oil on the table. This is not a real Italian restaurant. Won’t be back.

Finally, a local non-chain that I can confidently say I will enjoy going back to – and my husband agrees. We’ve tried several local restaurants and have been somewhat disappointed all the way: NOT disappointed by Pietro’s 1. We were told to visit 1 vs 2, and are glad that we did. We met some friends for dinner, and they had also never been, and I was happy and relieved that we all enjoyed our dinner!(nothing like the pressure of suggesting a restaurant no one has been to!) Pietro’s 1 is located a little off the main arena of downtown Vacaville, in what looks like it might have been a former Mexican restaurant(at least, the shapes of the windows look that way from the outside; wide half moon shapes with black grating). It’s a beige stucco building with plentiful parking across the street. The inside of the restaurant is all white and gray marble, deep wood and interesting prints on the walls; quite classy looking. We were all in jeans and sweaters/nice shirts, so not too casual but not formal, and we felt comfortable. We had reservations and were seated immediately by the pleasant hostess and greeted by our cheerful and knowledgeable waitress. The menu absolutely focuses on Italian, although there were a few steaks and sandwiches offered. We had sauteed mushrooms and calamari for starters and both were excellent; flavorful mushrooms, and the calamari had a very tender texture and was nicely fried. My kids split a Hawaiian pizza – 2 teenagers made short work of the small, but both left satisfied and they said it was good; the crust was thick and looked homemade. My husband got the chicken parm, and said it was the best he’s had in a long time. Our friends had pasta and meatballs and seafood pasta. The meatballs where huge, and my friend said the seafood pasta was amazing and she would easily come back and get it again. I got their meat ravioli in a marinara; flavorful, very nicely cooked al dente house made ravioli full of nice little bits of sausage. I like my marinara to be a bit chunky and this was just smooth tomato-y(no chunks of tomato or veggies), but that’s just a style difference – the flavor was delicious, very fresh. We received bread on the table, toasted french bread with what I thought was garlic butter but which had no garlic flavor – my one complaint – but which was nicely toasted and enjoyable. I tried to order a Chianti but they were out, so I got a Syrah instead and it was a nice complement to the meal. A side trip to the ladies room revealed a sparkling clean, nicely laid out facility(in fact, it was being cleaned at the time, always a good sign.) All in all, this was a very nice visit. Our party of 6 was seated in a large wooden table, half bench and half chairs, that would have easily fit 10; this would be a great venue for large groups or farewells/parties. We didn’t feel crowded, either; the seating arrangement gave plenty of space between tables, which isn’t always the case. Everyone enjoyed their food. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. The waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. It was a bustling place full of other people who seemed to be enjoying themselves, but never felt crowded or too loud. We plan on being back and will recommend this place to others!

My Family has been commen to Pietroes for about 40 years now, we love it. Every blue moon we may run into a slight problem, but Peters usually there, or another Attendant, an they quickly fix any problem we may have. Every family has there favorite restaurant, this is ours. When we see changes happening, we get nervous. I have seen the other Pietroes give way to changes on there menu, an it is my belief, that is why there not as succesful as Pietroes #1. We hope they stay true to there ORIGINAL ingredients. We understand prices must go up, an I never have a problem with that, as long as the portions stay a nice size, an they keep up all there quality ingredients, this restaurant will have continued sucess. Pietroes, we thank you for being #1 not just in name but in our memory an hearts. Your restaurant has held, years of fond times, food, an memories for us, down threw the generations.

Came here on 12/12/2015 for our Company Christmas dinner and was sat in a quiet banquet room. Our server was Natalie and she was GREAT! The food, OMG was so delicious and everyone at the party raved about how beautiful the room was and how the food was delicious. Kudos to our Office Manager for finding this establishment. I would say that a few of us who live in the area would come here on a regular night. And the Pizza was really good! Natalie brought out a flat calamari that everyone thought was chicken at 1st until we tried it. It was so good. Everything from the salad dressing(was told it was Italian dressing they make in house), to the pizza, to the calamari, to the pasta, to the steak was amazing. Cant wait to try other things on the menu on my next trip to Pietros #1.

This is a follow-up to a prior positive review I had written. My company hosted a function in the Lounge Room recently. I ordered and purchased my own drinks, on my own personal tab, from the bar. So if I wanted a cocktail, I walked to the bar, ordered, waited… waited… waited, and picked up my drink when it was ready. I ordered two pizzas TOGO(also at the bar, to which I walked) and paid on my own tab. When my pizzas were ready, I had to walk to a different part of the restaurant because it was too much work for the bar to have it ready where I ordered it. When it came time for me to pay, they placed a mandatory gratuity on my check for ONEPERSON, because I happened to be a part of the larger group? Are you kidding me? I did all the work, aside from shake a cocktail shaker and hit a button on the Point of Sale machine, and there is a mandatory gratuity? This is a terrible business practice and one I will keep in mind the next time I consider eating(and likely opt to go elsewhere) here. If there was a negative rating system, I would use that. Thankfully, the pizza bumped them back up into the 2-star range.

All I can say is what the hell happened to Pietros number one, I have love their pizza for over 50 years, but the pizza I got yesterday was absolute, Horrible it left a bad taste in my mouth, there was not enough sauce and the sauce tasted different that it’s been for 50 years for me. The kids better get back in the kitchen and watch with this new chef is doing, because if they don’t it won’t be long and you will be closed. We started eating at Pietro’s well I remember my first pizza and 1962 dad would go down and pick one up every Sunday night and damn it was the best pizza around. So I don’t know what’s going on at Pietro’s number one these days but quit worrying about your bar so much, and worry about the food and your loyal customers. My boyfriend took me here for the first time… It is a cute family restaurant. We got the pizza and it was delicious… Great crust, the cheese was gooey Which stretched from the tray to the plate(just like what you see in pizza commercials but never really seen in real life… Until now!) and their ranch dressing is superb. Great place… And seems to be a great place for the local HS kids to get a job.

Whattttttttt??? I haven’t written a review here yet? Dang! Here goes, I have been eating here for the past 10 years, and I loveeeee this place for the pizza(I have’t partaken in any of the other food here, other than the bread that comes out beforehand). The pizza is off the hook, love it, love it! Always go with the super special and anchovies on the side(wwwwwwwww… got it, I know, but I love those little guys…) You won’t be disappointed, tasty food, good service, enjoy it! (Get a bowl of COLD pizza sauce to dip the crust in… mmmmm…)
