Delicious! The hubby and I ended up here after olive garden had a 40 minute wait. We both ordered the salad and Strings combo which comes with lasagne, stuffed mushrooms and tortellini. The salad was fresh and so yummy. The dinner portions were very generous and everything had a lot of flavor without being salty. We will be back again for sure.

Was very excited to finally have lunch there and was let down. Ordered lasagna. It was borderline cold. The texture was horrible and the pasta side was obviously old with a coagulated film on top. I usually give resturaunts another shot but i think i might try a different location.

I went there with a group of about 10. We have been there dozens of times. Usually, we get great, fast service. Last time was not so good. The waitress brought some of our orders, then brought food to other tables, and then brought some more orders to our table 10 or 15 minutes later. I was last, about 20 or more minutes after the first plate was served. Half of our people had already finished eating. By that time, I did not feel much like eating as I felt rushed and food was also below par. I went home hungry. It was a waste of $ 16. The waitress was apologetic, but I feel I should not have had to pay for the meal. Something seems wrong with the kitchen or the waitress needs some more training. Hopefully, things will improve as they have a great menu and good value.

I love, love, LOVE Strings! Always have, as I am a huge fan of Italian food and with numerous locations it’s always a safe bet when out of town and looking for some yummy Italian grub. I always tell myself that I’ll branch out more when ordering, but I just can’t resist the Chicken Parmesan and fettuccine Alfredo. Meanwhile, I drool over whatever anyone with me ordered, yet never regret my decision as I soak up Alfredo sauce with warm soft garlic bread. It is delightful! A friend of mine is an aerobics instructor and one day after a vigorous workout, I was pretty surprised when she told me she had been craving Strings and wanted to grab some lunch. I was super excited that someone so fit and extremely thin craved the same all-you-can eat salad and bread, the pasta, creamy sauces, and cheese that I did!!! As it turned out, I pigged out and salad was the only thing she had been craving, and on top of that, she replaced the delicious house dressing with a packet of Splenda… But I enjoyed myself enough for the both of us and will gladly return with her the next time she gets a craving for Strings salad! The only reason I gave 4 stars was due to service at this particular location. I went with a party of about 10, and the service was quite slow during lunchtime with mostly an empty restaurant and more than one waitress. My party included a couple of special needs children who had a particularly difficult time waiting, and our waitress didn’t seem too accommodating of the situation or knew what to do when taking orders and not listening to the kids, who I admit aren’t the easiest to understand, but trying their very best to assert their social and communication skills. So overall, outstanding food, decent price, service has room for improvement at the Vacaville location.

The waitress was friendly; which was best part of our dining experience. They were out of Shrimp Scampi, did not have any clean wine glasses and was really slow. The Cioppino was not like anything close to Cioppino.

Been trying to make it in for a while now. Nice atmosphere for Italian for sure. The host and our waitress were very polite. We got the stuffed mushrooms appetizer and it was delicious. The bread was good that comes with the meals. Both our pastas tasted like they were made in house, very flavorful, I couldn’t stop eating it was so good. Had tiramasu floor desert. …very good and a big portion. Best Italian we’ve had around here. We will be back.

My favorite Italian restaurant in Solano County. I’ve been a loyal Strings customer for years and years. First at the Fairfield location, which sadly closed, and now the Vacaville one. The waitresses and waiters have always been friendly. Seriously, I have never encountered a single rude employee. They are always prompt and attentive as well. I would give the food an A-. I mainly come here on the all you can eat pasta night. I’m pretty simple and get my spaghetti and hearty meat sauce. The meat sauce is nice and thick with yummy chunks of tomatoes. The cacciatore sauce is super as well. Has a great spiciness to it. Sometimes the pasta isn’t drained enough, which makes the dish watery. I sent back a dish once because it was too watery and they immediately made a new one for me. Given the choice of the nearby Olive Garden and Strings, I choose Strings any day.

Ambiance is old and dated. Bread tastes like it was store bought then re-baked. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce it looked good but the taste was overpowered by green pepper.

I’ve been here at least three times, and all three times have been pleasant. The staff is great, and the food is consistent. I most recent thing that I ordered was some sort of pesto pasta dish with chicken. It was okay and came with a decent amount.

Service was okay. Not the best ambiance. Tried the bruschetta which was a total fail. I think they put Gorgonzola or blue cheese on it which was an overkill. The pastry Lasagna still knocks it out of the park in my book. Probably the only reason I come here. Chicken parmesan was not too bad.

Been coming here for years and it usually is consistent. The salad is my favorite and tonight they did not have raisins so sad. But overall delicious

The food here is good, prices very reasonable for Italian food. usually pretty quite here it doesn’t seem to get that much traffic here so not uncommon to see the host be your server as well as everyone else’s server lol. I honesty don’t know why they don’t get much business. Maybe cause of newer more entertaining places to eat. It can be a bit of a boring dinning experience.

3 stars is what they deserve; I give ‘em 4 stars since it’s nostalgic for me, and the calzones are BOMB! So is the salad… when it’s made correctly. On our last visit here, the service was a joke! And our salad(made by the same joker) wasn’t mixed ATALL… just a big glob of dressing on top of the lettuce with all the toppings on it, gross! The food tasted fine, but was definitely over-shadowed by the sweaty guy serving us who obviously couldn’t care less! Today my take out service was good. The estimated time was wrong, and we ended up waiting up front for about 10 minutes. This wasn’t the end of the world, but I thought her stated time of 5 – 10 minutes sounded a bit too quick. Guess I was right. More like 10 – 20. The entrees/calzones were great, as usual, but they forgot all 3 side salads! We did get the yummy bread, however.
