$ 4.99 for a small glass of apple juice. Mediocre Apple juice, too. Just ordered it without looking at the menu because, ya know, you would assume it won’t be the most expensive thing per ounce on the menu. Ridiculous. Also, the food is decent. Wouldn’t call it «good» by any means. Don’t come here unless you want to essentially pay $ 10/gallon for gasoline($ 5⁄10 oz. glass of Mott’s apple juice).

Flies buzzing Around the kitchen and a breakfast menu that is standard, unimaginative and generally flavorless-the pancakes were just one step above the cardboard they serve at Mel’s Diner. The location is convenient but other than that it’s not the place I’d go to or recommend for a nice meal.

Rating is based in breakfast only. * Service was good * Food was good not greasy at all, over easy eggs perfectly cooked. Only downside was the ham in the ham and cheese omelet was really salty It’s a smaller mom/pop diner place and it was clean! big plus.

Unilocal’s description of a 2-star review is «Meh. I’ve experienced better». That just about sums up our experience at Wren’s Café yesterday. The service was decent but the food bore a high price tag and was underwhelming. The eggs and sausage I had were bland; hubby ordered the chicken apple sausage special. His sausage was burnt on the outside and dry. The toast was yummy but it’s hard to mess up bread, butter, and jam. For us the main thing Wren’s has going for it is that it’s right off I-80 so it allows for easy access to and from the freeway. Despite this we will not be returning to Wren’s.

Busy little hometown diner spot for breakfast. My husband & I have been here a few times for brunch and it’s usually pretty busy. The waitresses are all very friendly and nice. I usually like getting an omelet or breakfast combo with eggs. Their potatoes are like thick slices of fried potatoes(similar to fries) so I really like that twist to your typical breakfast hash brown or home fries. If I’m feeling healthy, I’ll swap out the fries for fruit. In the summer you can get fresh fruit otherwise it might be canned peaches/pears so be sure to ask ahead of time. My husband likes to get their burger with fries and finishes the whole thing. Their burger is pretty large so it must be a very tasty burger. Tip: Come early or you might have to wait a bit for a table during peak breakfast time. The wait has never really been too long.

Food is just ok. Not horrible not good. But I’d rather save my money and eat at home instead.

That breakfast burrito always keeps me coming back. I love the way they prepare their breakfast potatoes, sliced and fried. This place has a «Mayberry» kind of vibe, a great little treasure indeed.

Went to Wrens Café this morning with my boyfriend for breakfast I ordered Annie’s light side which is one egg, potatoes, bacon and toast and my boyfriend ordered the sausage and eggs with toast and an extra egg it was ok we didn’t really care to much for the bacon or the sausage but everything else was really good our server was great she was on top of our refills and very friendly. I would go back maybe for lunch next time.

Most of Wren’s business probably comes the way that it got us: when you’re on I-80 driving toward San Francisco, you see a cuuuuuuute little café with its cuuuuuuute little sign just past Alamo Drive, and say to yourself«I’ve got to eat at that cuuuuuuute little café some time.» Location, location, location. Thankfully, the food matched the location. Wren’s Café is a few generations old, and appears to have been mostly kept the way it always has been.(Except that there’s a flat-screen TV showing ads for local businesses.) It looks like the sort of place that catered to US40 travelers. It’s also next door to an old motel, which adds to that ambiance. Not a good place for dinner, though; it’s not open past 2 in the afternoon. Well, I finally figured out a way to eat there. It was a Tuesday late morning, and the hunny and I went here and another location in Vacaville. The hunny said that it felt homey. Not a hurried atmosphere; indeed, it took a while for her chicken strips and my ¾-lb burger to get there. The 60-seat house was ½ to ¾ full during the hour, and notably, we were the only patrons *not* in the senior contingent. Chicken strips? More like chicken patties! The plate was half filled with them, and the other half was filled with large fries. She could eat only half of her entrée, and took the rest home. But she enjoyed eating it, I tell you. As for my burger, it was cooked medium well, and the fixins were put on the side; if you didn’t want the red onions or tomato, then you didn’t need to include the red onions or tomato. Good, meaty taste, no mush at all. The prices look high until you get the large-portioned food, then you realize that it’s well priced. Wren’s Café is a good regulars place; it may not be open when you’re shooting down I-80. If it is open, it’s easily worth a stop in. Because it’s so cuuuuuuute. ..

I’m becoming a fan each time I visit. It’s growing on me — slowly, though. Every so slowly! It’s relatively small for a restaurant but with very friendly service. Their specials are on a chalkboard to the side in the kitchen area so easy to miss. We’ve only once tried it and it didn’t disappoint us — chicken sausage if I recall right. We’ve always split a breakfast dish such as eggs, sausage and potatoes and it’s worked out to be just right — anything more would be a bit too filling. This time, we decided on french toast instead of potatoes and liked the choice.

Not sure how this place has 4 stars. Very mediocre, high prices for low quality food and beverages. My boyfriend still gets upset that we spent money there. Service was so so.

The old standby never disappoints! Tried something new. Phenomenal! I’m a picky pancake eater and I cleaned my plate. Not too heavy with an awesome texture. Hot syrup just sealed the deal!

Tried Wren’s early Saturday morning just after they opened. I did have a little trouble finding the place as their sign isn’t lighted and the sun wouldn’t come up for another 90 minutes. There were a few other customers who seemed to be «regulars». I was promptly given coffee, ice water, and a menu. They kept the coffee cup full and hot. The menu was fairly basic but there were lots of choices. I ordered an omelet and set to reading my Kindle. The food came quickly and everything tasted good.

Great menu. Good service. Good quality. Come with an appetite. I got the«Man-sized» chicken friend steak and eggs. My girlfriend got the biscuits and gravy. Although I normally eat my entire meal, then act as a human garbage disposal and clear her plate, I was completely full after my meal. The food quality is nothing special, but the portion sizes are great. Check it out.

Nice little café with easy access to the freeway. The food reminds me of home cooking and the service is friendly. This is a nice place to stop(instead of a chain restaurant).

How terrible can breakfast be. Hair in your potatoes? Store bought previously frozen chicken fried steak? Tasteless gravy that separates if you don’t stir it on your food. Microwave scrambled eggs? At Least they got the bacon and toast right. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants food worth eating.

Okay. I’m bumping to a 4 because I did a create your own omelet and it was the bomb dot com. They didn’t skimp on any of the ingredients and our server was so perfect! I’m more willing to come back now more then ever.(Still wish they would change their potatoes)
