I searched Unilocal for the best pizza joint in Vail and I ended up selecting the #4 entry due to bad reviews(for service mostly) on the first 3. Wow! Am I glad I chose Local Joe’s! The Vail location can best be described as a «hole in the wall». There is a little bar with maybe 6 stools and about 4 hi-top bar tables. We were greeted by Dain and the service was great! The ambiance was just right as well – 2TV’s with sports and really great mellow rock on the radio at the perfect volume. But the best part was the quality of the pizza. In short, it was outstanding. Served hot and fresh right from the oven and it tasted fantastic. The wait wasn’t bad at all either. This was a Wednesday night at about 8 pm, so we missed the rush. I’m sure it would be a bit slower on a Friday or a Saturday, but it will be worth the wait. The only issue I had with Local Joe’s was the beer selection. It is very limited, with mostly lower end beers on tap, but the 10IPA was actually quite good. A bit fruity, with a crisp flavorful taste. Definitely not my usual drink, but very satisfying. I noticed that there were a few bad reviews, but they all were due to long wait times for delivery. That is what you get when 5000 people exit the ski slopes at the same time and all want pizza delivery. Bottom line: I would definitely recommend Local Joe’s and I will definitely eat here again.

Just had the chance to eat at local joe’s east side of i70 and not only was the food good but so was the service. Thanks for having the local flavor of both food and personality without having to go into Vail Village. You guys did a really good job.

Pizza was delivered hot, and it was definitely tasty. I ordered early and asked for them to deliver at a specific time, and they did it. Good stuff.

I struck Gold on my vacation, Local Joe’s is a FIVESTARRESTAURANT, and I mean in the traditional sense, anyone saying otherwise doesn’t have a clue. I travel a lot, so I run into bad restaurants all the time, as well as great ones, this one is GREAT, but more so it’s innovative, it’s always about ingredients, they use the most diverse and expensive ingredients, I know. However ingredients alone won’t do it, it’s the RECIPE, and Local Joes belies their name, for they have the most creative menu I’ve ever seen, want a cheeseburger pizza? In the mood for something exotic? They have it. When I got my bill I was shocked, they should be charging much more for what you are getting. I have to say, in the 50 states I’ve been in excluding Alaska, Local Joe’s has the most diverse, interesting menu I’ve seen, and I’ve ate at Restaurants that charge $ 150.00 for a Steak Dinner! I think these Vail restaurants must outperform others as they have so many tourists, I don’t know but you do NOTWANTTOMISSLOCALJOE’S.

Great Place! The Only Place In Vail Open Late with Great Food! We were Passing Through a from California, and Stayed At A Local Hotel, this Place Was Easy to order from, and if you want to eat there you can come in, and there is an open bar with sport games on! The staff is friendly, which makes me spend more money, and ebb the people in front of the counter had good vibes. If you are in Vail or anywhere around, choose this place! Oh and the Pizza is Great too!

Me and my wife were celebrating our one year anniversary in vail. We wanted to just order in, so we decided on pizza. The pizza we got was ok, didn’t really think it was worth over 30 with the tip. I felt sick the next morning, I can only assume it was from the pizza. I most likely won’t order from then soon enough. We ordered the garlic cheese breadsticks, and the pizza was welcome to the club.

Great pizza if you dine in. The pizza come out hot and crispy. Also the Thai wings are excellent. If you order Togo it does sometime take long but it’s when they are busy. Nice friendly staff

Four hour flight. Two and a half hour drive. At least an hour waiting for pizza. And it is burnt. Seriously burnt. Crust, bottom and certain toppings even show char. Of course we are tired and hungry so we eat a few slices. Terrible decision. Im just surprised they didnt say ‘oops I burned that one ’ and cook another before delivery. Negatives: Burnt product. Dry product. Slow delivery(they put someone else’s phone number on our order). Expensive. Positives: Guy was somewhat nice on the phone. Delivery man was ok. Ingredients seemed to be of not too terrible quality. Avoid this place.

I called after waiting an hour and forty minutes to be greeted with an a-hole that made an excuse and didn’t even apologize. Seriously? I try to support you, but you make it impossible. Weak at best.

Do not order take out from here. We ordered 4 large pizza’s. After an hour and ½, we called to see where our pizza was. They had no idea and had to re-order. It was another hour and we called back again. Whoever answered was incredibly testy telling us it had only been 55 minutes. Yes, this time. We had to find the driver and guide them in. Pizza was lukewarm at best and not that good.

Visiting Vail for ski trip. Pizza delivery was 15 min late, cold and looked like it went through a dryer. Two stars was for taste though that may have been because we were so hungry.

Our family stayed in lions head and needed a night in and relax. Ordered the 9.99 pizza deal. Pizza was amazing and cost for two pizza’s delivered was under 25.00. They delivered to hotel and no crazy delivery charge added on. Try it out very good.

Got delivery from Local Joes. The Gnarl Calzone was mildly flavorful and had good toppings. The Mac and Cheese bites were exactly as I expected. Delivery took a bit long, but it was a decent meal overall.

Got delivery here and it took over an hour to get our food on a Sunday night. I got the chicken parmesan sandwich which was exactly what you’d expect from a pizza joint except it was tiny! I wasn’t even remotely full and it cost $ 8 and waited all that time for it. Not sure I’d order again from here but it seems the options are pretty limited here in Vail

We ordered food over the phone and they said it would be delivered in an hour. After an hour and a half we called and the woman on the other end said the road had been closed for four hours. She then said they sent a driver to see if it was open, but then retracted the statement. She said she was sorry for the inconvenience. By this time is was 9:30, and no one was planning on calling to let us know they were not bringing our dinner. Extremely disappointed with the service and will definitely go somewhere else next time.

I’m giving three stars just because of the quality of the pizza. Like everyone else said, the place is super«divey.» It doesn’t really look like a pizza shop inside because there isn’t much of a menu on display and it’s off to the side. It feels like more of a bar but there isn’t much to choose from. There are like ten bottles on display and one of them was empty. The staff we encountered were not great. There were two guys working and they both looked like they were 20 years old and were not very sociable. One was a delivery guy so the other guy was running the shop by himself. He spent most of the time in the back, which is understandable because he was making the pizza, but he could have put on a radio or had audio for the two tv’s that were on. On the bright side, the pizza was delicious. Oh, and there’s no air conditioning so it’s pretty hot inside.

The place is not much to look at and the location is a little odd, but the family and I were riding by on our bikes and stopped in. Not much going on and our expectations were low. Hey guess what, turns out the pizza was really good, a bit greasy, but good. And the guy helping us out was very cool and friendly.

Smaller place and very casual. Really a delivery place with a few sit down tables. Not much of a beer selection. Pizza was pretty good. Staff was great. Great value. Easy to get to off I-70. I’d go back.

We asked our bus driver the best place to get wings and beer near where we staying in Vail. He recommended Local Joe’s, exactly what we were looking for. Divey bar, small, relaxed atmosphere. Dining in service was slowish, laid back pace, which was fine for us, but I could see it being an issue. Wings were solid, had teriyaki and hot. The pizza looked really good and the very steady stream of to-go orders prompted us to get a pizza and some wings to-go later in our trip. The pizza was very good and the price was decent. I’d say it’s a near-perfect bar to drop in for a beer and some greasy food after a day in the snow.
