Best ski tune in town! Also a great selection of ski clothes including Descente, marker and more! Convenient location in Lionshead Village

This year, I decided not to fly my Volkls out to Colorado, so I went rental shopping around Lionshead for a good performance set. Thankfully, I stumbled across Performance Sports, and one of their awesome staffers, Bullitt who hooked me up with a nice deal on some great gear! This may seem small to some, but all their benches lift up for storage, which is a HUGE plus in my book. Now I don’t have to stop at a locker to drop off my regular sneakers/boots…I can just leave my kicks right there in the rental shop. When I returned later that day, swapping skis for shoes was an easy process… I was walking out the door and off to some après ski pubs in no time!

If you are looking for a place to wax or tune up your skis, this is the place to go. We were in town as part of a big ski trip organized by our cousin Michelle. We mentioned we needed to get our skis waxed and tuned up but every place in denver said it would take a week to do it. She recommended this place. I brought my skis in on Sunday night and asked for a wax and tune up. They told me that I didn’t need a tune up, just a wax. I really appreciate the honesty because they could have charged me more for a tune up and I wouldn’t have blinked an eye. Next morning on the way to the gondola, I stopped by and my skis were all ready. We also had friends who rented their skis from there and loved it! Definitely use this place if you are in vail!

I recently purchased a used pair of skis on Craigslist and noticed on my first run that one of the toe bindings was loose. I went to Performance Sports to check it out and they determined that one of the mounting screws had sheared off at the mounting plate. They spent about 20 – 25 min fussing around with it and ended up replacing the mounting plate with one they dug out of a spare parts box. Total cost was $ 10! These guys are great. I came back that night and had a full tune up for $ 40. My skis are like new again. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

Pro: Found a ski jacket that no-one else has. Con: Both front zippers broke and they couldn’t replace it. I paid $ 35 to fix the zipper by a local seamstress. No shipping charged. They sent it back to Fiveseasons. but they couldn’t replace it. WTF! I expect quality zippers for a $ 200 jacket.
