Really good food for a decent price. Great breakfast place! Down to earth. Farm fresh.

We were on our way back from the Cordillera lodge & spa and decided to stop for brunch and I’m so glad we did! We loved the vibe and atmosphere and the staff was very pleasant and we had great service. The presentation of the food was nice as well and tasted fresh. I’d definitely go back.

I went to a wedding in Beaver Creek in September, and I wanted to get out of the resort and find somewhere more local to grab breakfast. My dad and I came here on a Saturday morning and were seated right away. Service was kind of slow– but the waitress was very sweet and nice. I got a ham & cheese omelet with a side of berries and coffee. It was good, nothing spectacular, it’s regular diner food, but it hit the spot.

Route 6 Café, you’re a gem. Don’t change. We spent a fabulous weekend at Vail for some leaf peeping, and decided to stop here before picking up the dog from the kennel and then heading up to Holy Cross for some day hiking(no 14er here, folks). After scouring Unilocal reviews of breakfast spots in Vail Village, I decided that I didn’t want to be charged extra if I wanted hash browns or a piece of toast, so we ventured to give Route 6 a go since it was a) cheaper, b) included sides, and c) was on our way. We had the breakfast burrito(smothered, of course) and the pulled chicken hash for breakfast. Both dishes were absolutely delightful. I was pretty hungry and didn’t need to eat the whole burrito, but I did because it tasted good and I’m not even sad about it. I also stole a couple of bites of my husband’s chicken hash which was also pretty awesome. Side note — they also have fabulous brewed coffee in my opinion. And, we’ll definitely be back to Route 6 Café the next chance we get. Two thumbs up!

I agree with Kris M, people are great food is not. I had the Nachos, kinda hard to screw those up but they came out only slightly warm with fake orange cheese food… really??? Gross

I love the owner, and the folks are always friendly, but the food keeps getting worse and worse everytime I come here. Truly disappointed with the chicken hash, gravy was just plain bad, even the toast was awful. Seems like they’re checking out on quality :(

Such an underrated place. The staff friendly and typically from different areas so they always have fun stories, the breakfast there is really great, the owner is just about the sweetest Australian gentleman ever and at night you can head in for a drink at their full service bar. I have been greeted by a friendly face every time I’ve been there :)

So we are just finishing up dinner here with my family. Nothing real special about this place. You can tell they are trying on a lot of their dishes, but they all seemed to fall short for us. They had a descent variety, but just never seemed to hit a home run… We ate: steak(over cooked), salmon, tuna, spaghetti, etc Very kid friendly though, and nice servers.

We wanted a good final meal before heading to Denver. What we got was the final meal that we would eat at route 6. The restaurant was filthy. The waitress seemed to be hung over and was lost in her job of waiting tables. She asked my wife what she would like with her sandwich ie. Fries, potato chips etc. when she ordered chips the waitress rudely said, «we don’t have chips». Very rude even though the chips were on the menu. Our grandson ordered a soda that she Didn’t bring for about ten minutes. My wife’s BLT consisted of two pieces of dried bread, one slice of bacon, a piece of lettuce, one slice of tomato. No mayo. Not quite what you would expect. If you eat there bring a disinfecting wipe for the table.

I don’t even know where to begin… The reviews looked good so we thought we’d try it. It was a diner and diners always have good breakfasts(how do you mess up breakfast??) but not this one. First we order coffee and orange juice. The coffee was mediocre and the orange juice was warm and spoiled. You could tell it had not been refrigerated. The actual food was decent, the omelettes and egg sandwiches were good but the toast was dry– like to the point the crust came off on its own. Then, my friend’s pancake was dense and flavorless. So, apparently you can mess up breakfast. Keep driving, don’t waste your time stopping. even the bathrooms were disgusting.

They were a little understaffed, but overall pleasant experience. Biscuits and gravy were delicious! Great prices for the Vail valley! Everyone I was with enjoyed their meal. Will be back again!

This place makes me feel like home. A year ago I started coming here. My son had a snowboarding accident so I came out from San Diego. Found this hidden gem during therapy sessions and they serve everything! My friends there still remembered me from a year ago. Love love love the Southern Fried Chicken Mmmmmmm

We have literally been coming since the inception of this restaurant. We don’t know what has happened this winter but this place has gone from an A+ breakfast to terrible/failing. From unfriendly bar staff to being sat at a table for 30 minutes without anyone coming by to take an order, the service is just terrible. Our last visit we sat and waited to place a drink order for 25 minutes and finally got up and walked out. There are so many great breakfast places on the Valley. This one would render your breakfast order lunch. So so disappointed.

I’d like to first say that I really liked the man who greeted us and sat us down. I just love diners and used Unilocal to find this breakfast place. That’s where the good ended. The service was hor-ri-ble. Our waitress told us about four times that she would be by as she scurried past us. Then we she finally came over, she looked at us and said«go». My kid likes to order his own food and she rushed the poor little guy. Then she didn’t bring over his juice. We got our food and it wasn’t memorable. My husband ended up having to leave cash because she was nowhere to be found to pay with a credit card. Service, service, service. I’ve been a waitress before(and busboy and bartender all at once) with many people coming in at once. You gotta be organized and move. We feel that was a waste of a meal.

Food is quality but the service is inconsistent. I enjoy coming here to work but sometimes I am rushed by the wait staff or forgotten about. If the service improved it is well worth coming for a casual meal.

Route 6 café is a neat little diner off the beaten path. Took my kids here after a ski weekend at Beaver Creek. My kids rate it 3.5−4 stars. Standard breakfast place. Eggs Benedict was good, coffee so-so. Good atmosphere and well decorated for Christmas.
