Went on a Friday night and saw Town Cavalry play a set. They played an awesome set of rock, reggae, and fun cover songs. This was the best bar our group went to on the entire resort all week. Hands down.

Only one I went to this trip. But I really liked it. Bartenders were great as was the live music. Not overly crowded and lots of other levels to be on so you could breathe. I’d go again.

good live music. only downside is it smells like a stinky foot or the inside of a hockey glove. the bar tenders are heady and all but this place smells like the spot between chewbaccas toes

Definitely a hot spot for the«Vail After Dark» scene. Great DJ played variety of pop, hip hop & dance music all night. Had a few different spots to hang out besides the dance floor. The women’s bathrooms are really ill-designed though because when you swing open the door you can bump someone washing het hands.

Great little bar to come to après ski. We actually had no plans to come to Shakedown but were handed free beer tickets for it so decided to check it out. We ended up getting to the bar just as Scott Munns was starting his show-we had a table right in front of the stage, and I can honestly say it was a great performance that literally flew by. Scott Munns was not only a good singer/performer, but he was hilarious, and played any song that we(or other people at the bar) called out and requested. We ordered a bunch of pitchers of beer and enjoyed the show. I highly recommend you coming here, especially if Scott Munns is playing!

Fun live music in Vail Village… Got a love a small dive bar with affordable prices and live music… We’ll definitely be going back next year…

After leaving dinner I walked in here with a clear plastic cup of water and was hassled by the bar tender for it. I was kind of irritated because I was harassed instantly upon entry and we were the only people in the bar. Since they pissed us off we left.

The bands are good if you like a bunch of old guys pretend like they are still in a high school band. Bring back Phil Long. Play more fun dance music. Stop thinking that people want to hear the band tune their instruments for twenty minutes.

We arrived really late at night for a little more dancing and this place was busy in off season Vail. The bartender was really cool. There was live music when we arrived but short lived since it was so late about 1am when we arrived. They changed the music to dance music and we got to dance a little more on what was left on our girl’s night. I usually always come here to dance when in Vail and have a lot of fun.

We went here last night to watch the basketball games, have some drinks and dance the night away. It was great. There were TVs everywhere for the boys, lots of high top tables and then 2 live bands. My only real complaint was that the second band was not very good… Not very good at all. My girlfriend and I were trying our hardest to dance but it was difficult with such meh music. What I love most about this place though is the eclectic clientele. There are people of all ages, half of the the people on the dance floor are in regular clothes and the other half are still in their ski pants. A great place for a night out of dancing and drinking after a long day on the slopes!

Had so much fun here on a Saturday night! Loved the music, drinks and atmosphere. You can sit or stand around and have a drink. Then, at 9/10, they transform the lower area near the stage into a dance floor(but there are still plenty of seats and standing room). The only odd thing(which I actually liked!) is the vastly different music they play at different times. For example, from 8 – 9 they had a band playing 80s hits. From 9 – 10 they had a DJ playing modern pop/hip-hop. At 10 another band came on that was great and played different rock songs.

In the heart of Vail Village, the Shakedown Bar stands in complete contrast to it’s affluent surroundings. A dingy downstairs dive bar that features live music, moderately priced beverages and blue collar atmosphere. Best known as an apres ski spot, late night entertainment is also scheduled on weekends during the season. Expect a small cover charge and jammed packed venue where seating can be difficult to find.

Decent value for drinks. Gets jammed. Get in early and grab a table. Bartenders have some fun so a bit of banter to be had

This is the best place to be in Vail if you are looking for a good time! Go after skiing, with live music starting at roughly 4:30(Phil Long is legendary and should definitely be seen if going to Vail). We had a great time, so good that we went back the next day! Also, I left a jacket with a cell phone at the bar. I was able to contact the bar and was able to connect with Scott Rednor who found it and agreed to fed ex it back to me… super cool and super appreciated!!!

Went to this fabulous bar a few weeks ago with a group of 11 skiers. To our surprise, we were seated immediately and greeted by a friendly and attentive staff. We opted for a number of pitchers of beers and appetizers. One should be warned: their nachos are as addictive as crack cocaine.(I suggest getting them with pork vs. chicken). However, the best part about this bar is its live music. When we were there, the musicians were unbelievably talented. If in the Village, give this place a chance, you won’t be disappointed.

This is one of those institutions of Vail you have to check out. They have a fairly reliable musician who sings dirty lyrics on the weekends for years. He insults the crowd to the cheers of the crowd and buys everyone shots. It’s an all ages crowd(21 – 81) so be prepared for anything and I mean anything. I saw an old man up on skiis dancing on stage and singing with him. It was hysterical!

Fun place to see live music in Vail. I’ve been several times and while the crowd sometimes leaves a little bit to be desired, there’s always been someone on stage playing live music and it’s usually been pretty good, to boot. Strong drinks, clean(ish) bathrooms. Eh, what more do you want from a bar, really?
