Friendly service! They make the best homemade soups. I have never had one I didn’t like. They could use a bigger space because every time we go there it’s packed!

They support local community parties(little league /etc). Great food, especially Calzoons, mac salad, pizza, Nachos, and soup

Buffalo chicken salad consists of romaine lettuce, fake grilled chicken, barely there shredded carrots and drizzled hot sauce. It’s also the size of an appetizer. Food has gone downhill. I was expecting a salad with lots of lettuce, veggies, blue cheese crumbles and edible chicken tossed in hot sauce.

First … it’s Chris’ Café. Not Crris‘s Café — posted on both to make sure it gets seen Secondly… from start to finish one of the best dining experiences I have had in the Greater Albany area. From the service, the food the price. Hands down a winner! Daily lunch specials that will leave you with money in your pocket and a belly full of delicious food. This is standard Café fair, with a twist. Like Caribbean Clam Chowder… a twist off of new England style chowders. Still cream based but with a Caribbean kick and flavor profile unlike I have ever experienced. Pizza’s… Delicious. I ordered the classic ‘white’ pizza with some trepidation. Having grown up in CT, I have frequented the famous pizza parlors on Wooster Street in New Haven. Pizza joints that have lines out the doors every day of the week because the pie is so good. Chris’ Café deserves their own line. It was the best white pizza I have ever had. Perfect balance of garlic, oil, mixed cheeses… Flavor that just EXPLODED upon the tongue and filled your senses with that combination of aroma, taste, super-delicious yumminess…(pauses in reflection). Yep… Pizza… WINNER. Be aware that the crust is a little thicker than the ‘Brooklyn’ NY Style pizza that is common, however, its not doughy and very fold-able. Prime Rib: Excellent cut of meat. Slightly overdone(more medium than med-rare) but tender and again… delicious. Extra au ju provided when asked. Soups Do you like home-style, from scratch crafted soups? Soups you would order in the middle of summer because you just know how delicious they are? Soups you eat slowly, trying to figure out how come you can’t ever seem to get all those flavors inside your soups at home? If you said yes. Order the soup. Any of them. You won’t be disappointed Service We have been to Chris’s several times and have experienced three different servers. Each one treated us as guests, as if we were the one ones they were waiting on. Each greeted with a smile and make us feel like our business was appreciated. This is the kind of service that you expect at the fancy places and yet rarely get. The kind of service that makes you feel guilty if you only tip 20%. The kind of service you go back to the restaurant, even for average food, time and time again. BUT, add this level of service to the quality of food that is being served and you have the perfect combination. Price Beyond reasonable. Wife and I enjoyed a full lunch with drinks for under $ 20 and that was with a 20% tip. Order taken and food delivered within 15mins. Dinner was $ 48 with appetizer, entrée and drinks. Atmosphere Kid/Family friendly. Yet intimate enough(high backed booths) for a quite date out with the significant other. Overall I give Chris’ two thumps up… a golden fork and spoon and the platinum ladle.

I’ve been meaning to stop at Chris’ Café in Valatie, which has been on my radar for quite some time. I’ve been through the area several times(on Sundays) and the place was closed each time and I ended up eating at the nearby diner on 9H. Chris’s Café is open for lunch and dinner Mondays-Saturdays. I made a special trip to Valatie for Saturday night dinner at Chris’ Café. This casual restaurant is tucked away in the Valatie Village Plaza next to Cumberland Farms. Enter the restaurant through an ordinary looking black door with knob. Not a fancy place, the dining room is cozy with rows of booths and tables, green, black, & white color theme, black & white checkerboard floors, and framed pictures on the walls, with the crowded takeout counter in the back. The menu offerings include pizza(slices or pie), calzones, salads, homemade soups, sandwiches, wraps, subs, a good selection of pasta dinners & skillets, chicken, seafood, and desserts(cakes, pies). The prices here seem reasonable, subs/sandwiches & calzones under $ 10 and dinners priced $ 10.95-$ 15.95, which include salad or soup and bread. I arrived here around 6:45PM and I sat myself in a booth. The place had a few customers already dining and not as busy as the nearby diner. I started out with an ice water with lemon(small amount of ice cubes on top) while I was deciding what to order. I decided to go with the Caribbean Clam Sauce over Linguini($ 11.95) with a cup of Cajun Ribeye Chowder and Garlic Bread. The Chowder was served piping hot, which had a semi thick creamy spicy broth with smalls bits of veggies and steak, oyster crackers on the side. The hot baked garlic bread loaf was strategically cut & sliced long and across for easy breaking off, crusty outside and soft and buttery inside. The main entrée was served very hot, a generous portion of pasta, which had whole baby clams, pineapple chunks, roasted red peppers, hot cherry peppers, fresh basil, & garlic in a white wine sauce over soft linguini. The flavors of this dish were great and worked well and can be described as where sweet meets very spicy. There was enough pasta for two meals, so I decided to get my food boxed up and passed on the offer for dessert, perhaps next time. I already had plans for froyo later on that evening. The dinner check with tax and before tip was $ 12.91, which was actually very reasonable. The service here was very good and the pleasant waitress checked up on my table periodically. I would definitely eat at Chris’ Café again, which is IMHO, ANOTHERSTRIPPLAZAGEM! (4.25÷5.00) FACEBOOK:

Chris’ Café is a great little pizza joint! I love their food and the staff. Everything is readable in price and I have had no complaints about the food or serve. I bring my family here often.
