Krystal

Well, they had a «C» health department rating posted, I would say that was generous. On a road trip, it might rank right up there with gas station sushi as far as good ideas go. On the plus side, the bag is made of sturdy plastic in case I have to poo in it later. Pray for my co-​drivers on this one, I feel we may all need it!

Didn’t die. Didn’t need that handy plastic bag. I did, however, need to brush teeth twice to kill the odor/​taste. Wow. Don’t expect a repeat of that experience any time soon if I can help it.

This Krystal’s is old and does not have the most updated dining area and kitchen. The things I saw in the kitchen did not look appealing. The service by the employees was, however, exceptional. This does not cover that things in the kitchen. The food tasted fine, but will not be returning.

Krystal is basically the south’s version of White Castle. The burgers are pretty much identical. I’m not a big fan of either burger, but the rest of Krystal’s menu puts them above White Castle in terms of overall taste, variety and quality. What I really enjoyed about Krystal was their 5 for $ 5 meal deal. This allows you to try out all their mini items including chicken sandwiches, mini hot dogs (called pups), burgers (called Krystals), fries, pop, etc.
I had two types of pups… the plain pup and the corn dog pup. Both were surprisingly good. Someone else in our group had the chill cheese pup and that was also very good. There were also positive comments about the chicken sandwich. No one liked the burgers.
I still prefer the regulars like McDonalds, Burger King, Sonic… but if you’re in the mood for a change or something fun to try, Krystal is an ok option.

Went back here because I was hoping I would luck up and get some decent food.
Ordered a steamer 12 pack with cheese. Checked my order and looked ok so I rushed home to enjoy… every… single…burger…was a sausage patty. How could they even do that? Sausage patties are round and Krystal patties are square. Guess we know why they work in fast food and not anywhere else.
Oh and I called the store but the «manager» started laughing and telling the other employees and then they hung up. Didn’t call back… I am done.

I mean, it’s White Castle but just a little less good. Can that mean it’s healthier?
I dunno but I tried some last night. The difference is, with White Castle your food is a little fresher but you WILL wait for your food for like 10 minutes. The wait is annoying but the food is goooooood, even though your body is like, «Um. Look. There are health reports that suggest…»
You’re like, «Shut up body! I’m eating White Castle.»
But then there’s this place, and it’s way faster, but it is a little less fresh. My buns were a little dry (no pervert, I’m talking about the burgers) and the chicken on the chik sandwich did seem a little like it was around for a while, maybe in the steamer.
it’s all good. I’m not knocking this place. If you want to fix your White Castle crave this is a Suitable substitute until you can get the real deal.
Maybe that’s not what they would like to have as their tag line, but… I dunno. Just being honest. ;)
