Gervais School of Performing Arts

My daughter has been attending Gervais School of Performing Arts for 3 years & we couldn’t be happier. Every friend I hear looking for a place their daughter will love & thrive I suggest Gervais. The owner & other instructors are so kind, professional, loving & know their stuff! It truly has become a family. My daughter has thrived here & each year she improves in grace, skill & love of dance. I love the performance at the end of the school year which is all about celebrating performing arts. It’s very professional, tasteful & fun! My daughter has been a part of the junior dance company this past year & just loved it. They performed throughout the year at several charity events which I feel is such a great lesson to these girls to share their talents & perform for a good cause & to bless others. We’ll be at Gervais for years to come!

We moved to the area 2 years ago and went in search of a dance studio. Gervais is home for us now. My daughter loves the teachers and they in turn are super supportive of her.
Part of learning to dance when you are young is proper technique and the teachers make that a priority. Along with the health and well being of their students.
We are looking forward to many more years of watching our daughter dance with Gervais!

My daughter has gone to Gervais for about 6 months. She had fun and looked forward to going. The problem is that she learned nothing really about dance and didn’t improve at all. She needed direction and a bit of strict disciple which she did not get. The class was light and fun, so if you’re looking for that then you will be pleased. I’m looking for her to enjoy herself but actually get instruction and improve for my money. What put me over the edge and motivated me to leave this review was the recital we were just a part of. It was 3 hours long, yes 3 hours. My daughter was back stage for 4. She danced for about 60 seconds. As did most of the audience’s young children. That took up about 30 minutes of the show. The rest of the 2.5 hours consisted of the owner and her family, as well as the same 20 or so super star dancers. This was great for their families I’m sure. But why would the rest of us want to see the same dancers for 20 or more dances? It was torture and beyond egotistical. There were even adults like the owner dancing at the front of the stage and children in the back by the curtain. I was going to also write about how the owner and her assistants spoke to many parents very degradingly about not following the costume and make up guidelines at the rehearsal, instead of just giving a friendly reminder to their paying customers, but I could go on forever! Do not give this place your money. They don’t deserve or appreciate it.

A very creative, professional dance studio. Excellent dance shows, too. My daughter has been here for 4 years. She has had a wonderful experience & has made great progress in ballet, tap, modern, and hip hop. The studio owner is very knowledgable about the dance world. She has field trips to professional productions. My daughter has been introduced to dance & all the facets.

I took an adult tap class today and it was so much fun! I used to dance in my youth, and was nervous about going, but the instructor was very professional & supportive.

Good for people who simply want to learn dance and have fun.

So glad we found this place! We drive all the way from Green Valley for my daughter to attend for ballet. They are patient and professional but they also make class fun. Class always starts on time which is great because my daughter can’t wait to dance! Very happy!

AMAZING!!! This has been such a fun dance school for my daughter and she always practices at home, just for the fun of doing the teacher’s dance! I totally recommend this place to all ages!

We absolutely love this dance studio! All 3 of my kids take dance at this studio and all 3 love it! The teachers are all amazing with kids.

I have been searching for about a year all over the valley for some high quality but low pressure adult dance classes, and this is the place! Joanne provides top notch training, but in a way that is fun and helpful. I also appreciated the overall feel of the class, as the other students are also encouraging to one another, rather than competitive or intimidating, as can be the case in the dance world sometimes. LOVE that there are adult classes offered in the mornings since I am married and try to be home at night to see my husband! If I had kids, I would definitely love this place for them as well!

I highly recommend Gervais to anyone looking for dance instruction in the Santa Clarita Valley. They have awesome, caring instructors who can’t help but spread their love for the art of dance to their students. The classes are small, so you don’t feel like you get lost in the crowd, like happens at a lot of other dance schools I’ve tried. In short, I can’t say enough good things about Gervais.

Love this dance studio! My daughter has taken classes at a few different studios in Santa Clarita, but this one is her favorite! Amazing teachers, small classes, and a very welcoming atmosphere. She has learned so much this past year, instead of getting lost in a big class. The recent dance recital at Cal Arts showcased all the great talent at this school. We are looking forward to another amazing year.
