Two hour wait for delivery after given an online wait time of 45−60min and making a phone call after 75 minutes that told me I was previously given a 90 minute wait time? Food was cold when it got here. Good thing I like cold Chinese. I still like their food, but I can’t trust their delivery after this.

We were ignored while the hostess took a phone order and went back to the kitchen to ask them questions. There was an open pack of chocolate dipped fortune cookies on the counter and crushed pieces everywhere — they were selling these and this one appeared to have escaped and got put on the counter … The hostess didn’t even notice until 20 minutes later, as I walked by stepping in cookie crumbs, I pointed it out to her. I asked for a gluten free menu and was told everything could be made gluten free. Hostess said she would inform waitress. I should have reiterated gluten free to waitress with my order but I didn’t. My food had to be set back and there was a disagreement between my waitress and the gentleman who brought the food about if my dish could be made gluten free — waitress didn’t think so … Well it apparently could be. Not appropriate to argue in front of guests and not a good thing that your team doesn’t know the gluten free options. My honey chicken was alright and my daughter said the noodle dish was decent but the chicken pot stickers were awful. We couldn’t even get a full cup of juice for our son — see photo — and it was just a very average, if not subpar, dining experience. Attitude of the waitress, who was very upset with me that I didn’t designate gluten free, makes me pretty certain I won’t return.

Really nice ambiance. Their food is really good. Their happy hour drink selection is big and they had a special limited edition drinks that were amazing. Proves were great. I’ll def be visiting more during happy hour!

I crave the food from here when it’s been awhile… it’s that good. There isn’t one thing on the menu that I don’t like! The staff and management is really friendly! It’s a place that can be romantic enough for a date, but also large enough for a big group(including children) and the bar is a really cool place to hang out. I love every New Moon location — but this is by far my favorite :)

Meh, not excited about this place at all. We were super excited to try it out, but we all agreed we’d never be back. The only plus was the chocolate martini. The food was mediocre at best, and when I tried to swap out one soup that came with my meal for another(same price) they said no. My mom wanted to take her soup to go and our waitress had to ask the manager. Seriously? They need to watch the«give them the pickle» video. Won’t be back.

Excellent quality flavorful food! I was fed up with all the local Mom and Pop asian spots in SCV because I felt the quality of the chicken was always poor and dry. I also could never find a flavorful homemade sweet and sour sauce. I was skeptic at first of coming here because I was afraid the flavors would be typical of asian chain restaurants. So happy I gave it a shot, this will definitely be my new spot when I’m craving asian cuisine. I had the chow mien and it was amazing!

Came in for dinner during the week. Wasn’t very busy so we’re able to be seated. Ordered a variety of dishes to be shared with the table. Ordered pot stickers, chicken asparagus, and a combination chow mein and an ordered of steamed rice. It took awhile for the food to come out. The food was pretty good and filling. The chocolate dipped fortune cookie was pretty good to.

My 82 year old brother in law recommended this place. I am glad he did. Simple delicious takes on Chinese Classics. You can taste it especially in the meats. Tender, melt in your mouth beef or plump succulent shrimp.

Horrible menu, no pictures and not many good healthy selections. However, the food that does satisfy the tastebuds are great. Order the honey glazed shrimp, rice, chow fun and/or glazed chicken with orange sauce. Do not order the fried calamari, I had mine undercooked and cost 15 $ because it was seafood. The calamari was undercooked and could have killed me and give me salmonella. Tasted weird and awful as if it was taken from the garbage disposal from leftovers or frozen for ages in the freezer. I repeat, no pics of what the food looks like just descriptions. Be wary of what you buy but what I recommended is good guaranteed.

I’ve heard mixed opinions of New Moon but I thought the food was really good & the service was outstanding(very fast despite being busy)! I think many Santa Clarita residents just haven’t experienced the West LA/SM/BH scene to become«seasoned» in regards to higher end restaurants so any restaurant around here that commands prices higher than $ 5 per person is going to be something folks whine about DESPITESOMANYCOMPLAINTS about SCV not having a decent selection of nicer restaurants! Folks are just never happy! I, personally, thought it was quite reasonably priced(especially considering all the riff I heard from my friends/associates about how expensive it is)! I enjoyed it & my sons & their significant others did as well!

Had dinner here last night with a party of 8. I’m going to give 4 stars based on my overall experiences because I have been coming here since they opened. In the early years it was amazing and the whole family loved it. Over the years it seems like it’s slowly coming apart at the seams. It’s not as sinking ship but they just need to tighten things up a bit. The dining room is clean and looks amazing so big props for that. The servers come and go but usually they are very good. A few of our orders got mixed up but it was corrected with no hassle. The Wor Won Ton soup is deelish. My kids love the velvet chicken Shrimp Ragoons are off da hook. Passion fruit iced tea is great. I would prefer if I wasn’t able to see in the kitchen area on the way to the restroom because it looks like it could use a cleaning. Restrooms are cleaned regularly and they look good. My kids like to come here for special occasions such as birthdays and we will continue to do so.

Not happy. We’ve always liked their food, but I’ve always suspected our doggie boxes don’t always contain ALL we have left over from eat-in dinner. It seems when their take away box is full, they discard the rest of the leftover. Tonight that proved true. My husband purposely left more than half his full salad, to be boxed up and become his lunch at work the next day. What we got in our takeaway is considerably less than he had left over. It seems if we’ve paid for the dishes, we should get everything we’ve left over. Not happy.

This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant. Each plate is meant to be shared among groups, meaning you get to try rice, chicken, beef and shrimp dish when you come in a group of 4. Our waiter knew us by name and came frequently to check on us. We ordered 2 minutes after sitting at our table, and our food was out in ~8 minutes, which was a huge surprise. 8⁄8 would recommend.

Now I get what the hype is about. Came here for dinner last night with my family and we were thoroughly impressed. We started with a bowl of tasty hot and sour soup that could feed 6 people. For our family-style dinner, we had the honey walnut shrimp, chicken snow peas and bok choy mushrooms. All delicious! Their lycheetini was strong and yummy. Since it’s Valentine’s weekend, we each were treated with a complimentary glass of champagne which made us love this place even more. Service was perfect – we had Chelsea who is lovely. This is my new favorite restaurant!

Had some friends over this weekend and we all felt like some safe, tasty whitewashed«Chinese» food so we decided to order some New Moon takeout. I had a great experience at their Montrose location(great food) but was my first time ordering from Valencia. The short of it — the staff at Valencia are professional and polite — the food is so so. Passable, but not great. The sweet and sour chicken was soggy and slimy, the fried rice was flavorless and the egg drop soup had no real taste. Won’t be coming back. It’s a pity, because there is an absolute dearth of decent Chinese style food around the SCV(although we have some great Vietnamese, Thai and even Korean cuisine options).

Phenomenal food! Terrible service! Also, love the chocolate covered fortune cookies! The restaurant overall is beautiful and the décor is lovely. The yummy food: Calamari– 2/5, personally I did not like their calamari. It wasn’t cooked well and it was very bland. Jalapeños stuffed with shrimp: 5/5, great dish! The shrimp works beautifully with the black bean sauce, and the pepper unifies the dish! My favorite dish of the night. Chicken on skewers: 4/5, nice dish! They definitely do not skimp on the chicken; I could barely finish one! However, it could be a little more seasoned. Lo mein w/chicken: 5/5, another great dish! The noodles were soooooo tasty and they tasted amazing with the ginger/sesame oil sauce! The chicken, in this dish, was cooked very well and it was flavored quite nicely! Service: 2/5, first of all I didn’t even know who my server was. One of the guys took our drink order while the other guy took our food order, and throughout the night they both kept asking us how our dinner was going. It’s fine if they were working together, but they weren’t communicating with each other. We ordered with one guy and then the other guy came and asked us if we were ready to order, and this kept happening throughout the night! With two servers you think the service would be quick, right? WRONG! They were both extremely slow from beginning to end. Our food came out before our drinks(and all we ordered was a lemonade!) Even at the end of the night when we asked for the check; one of our servers was busy with another table(which is completely understandable) while the other guy was sitting and chatting it up with all the other waiters. Yes, he was actually sitting at a table with the other servers and talking and laughing! **However, thank you to the bar tender for not charging us when we returned a drink, it was highly appreciated! Overall, I really wanted to enjoy my night, I really did. But the service did not work out at all. However, complements to the chef because the food was fantastic! I will only be returning for the food.

I have been eating the New Moon Chicken Salad for about 40 years. Coming from a family of Garmento’s, this was our place to eat! So glad my mom discovered a location in Valencia. The Best food, atmosphere and most of all… brings back such amazing memories for me! We live in Northridge, but sooooo worth the drive!!! ;) Our server was friendly, educated about the restaurant, and loved her job! 5 Stars across the board for me! Thanks Wally + Colin, just miss the Koi pond(from downtown)!

I came to this place several years ago but was not very impressed. So recently, I decided to come back with some friends to give it another shot. First off, I noticed it looked exactly the same as I remember. Not much had changed at all. Secondly, let me say that the service was good. I have no complaints there. The waitress came to check on us several times, we never had to wait long for anything. So I commend her on that. More accurately, my overall experience is probably 2.5 stars, giving the service the extra half star. I’d love to give it the«a-ok 3 stars» but I can’t since I don’t plan on coming back, and here’s why. It was the food. It lacked flavor. This is exactly what I remember from my visit many years ago. That, and the fact that the food is priced slightly higher than it should be. I pretty much get Mongolian Beef at least once everywhere I go so I can compare it between all the different restaurants. Not just that, but, I usually like it. The dish presented well, good portions, the beef was tender, but it was not very tasty. It was bland. The more I ate, the more I asked myself, «What am I eating here?» I could’ve been eating a rice cake for all the flavor it had. I mean, it had ample sauce on it, so it seemed like it should taste like something, right? But alas, it didnt. Couple that with the prices, I probably won’t come back.
