Great family winery. We had a tour and it was really nice. I bought a late harvest wine, that I can’t wait to open for the holidays. This place is a must see if you are in the area! I think they had a really great apricot wine too.

We absolutely LOVED Irish Family Vineyards. We visited seven wineries on our trip to Murphy’s CA and this one is definitely in the top two. The tasting room and the grounds are beautiful but the staff really stood out. We had seven people in our group and they offered to show us around and give us a barrel tour with tasting right from the barrels. The paid tasting was good, you can choose the wines you want to try from their menu and although the sparkling wines are not on the tasting menu, if they have an open bottle or enough people interested in trying one, they will pour one for you. They have a small selection of gifts as well. We will definitely visit again!

5 stars for the staff. The woman running the place was very nice and personable. However as all wines are subjective the selections were not to our liking. They did have some very nice flavored champagne that my wife really like so for that we at least got the chance to buy some wine. They also have some nice gifts and shirts for those looking for extras

Went up to Murphy’s for Irish Day late this past Saturday(1st time for that) and spent Sunday traveling around with some friends. On our way to the Columbia State Historic Park we naturally had to stop off at the Irish Family Vineyards. Shannon helped us and she was Fabulous! It’s always nice to have a little humor to go with a liquid spirits experience and an embellished cork necklace to wrap up the Irish weekend celebration. Interestingly enough, we also found the perfect anniversary bottle of wine labeled with the year my husband and I got married and named after the housing development we bought our first home together in… :-) Bonus– It’s delicious! Oh, and the Almond Champagne was also a must have… ;-)

We rode our Harley by the Irish Family Winery on August 23, since I identify with the Irish(family ties), we didn’t have time to stop, when we got home we googled them, and ordered, 12 bottles of various wines that we really like, the one we are tasting tonight is the 2009 Petite Sirah, it is excellent with the steamed veggies that I have prepared for dinner. I am glad we tried them, we will add them to our preferred Winery list. We live in Bishop CA, in order to get good wines we travel to the various wine country Wineries, and join their Wine Clubs.

We were here on St. Patrick’s Day weekend and the place was packed with large groups. Despite the fact that they were so busy the people pouring were extremely friendly and attentive to everyone. We wanted a sweeter wine for my mom’s birthday(her favorite) and we found something perfect for her and it went with the theme of the dinner. Nice place to stop.

Great wine ~ great people! I truly enjoy all their reds. Full bodied. I like a hearty fruit forward wine and Irish delivers. A must if you are tasting in the area.

Absolutely my most favorite winery in Murphys. Always, always, always have a very pleasurable and fun experience! The Irish family is very hospitable everytime! And the wine is so amazing, again, the best in Murphys! We went last weekend and met the new face of the tasting room and she was oh so knowledgeable and very personable! Look forward to my each and every trip to Irish!

I absolutely love this place. Before this area turns into the next Napa(overpriced, and over saturated with tourists), you must visit. Irish Vineyards is my favorite. I highly recommend their Gewürztraminer!

I didn’t expect to like this place, although I’m not sure why… maybe I was thinking of something else. In any case, I was pleasantly surprised when we stopped in for a visit a couple weekends ago. The tasting room is huge, with a nice large bar plus barrel-tables throughout the room to accomodate larger parties. They also have a bunch of jams, mustards, crackers, etc on a table toward the back for sampling. The woman pouring for us was very friendly and took her time to explain the wines and the stories behind them. I especially liked the one called Pog Mo Thoin, which is Gaelic for«Kiss My Ass.» We had to get a couple bottles of that one :) I wasn’t much of a fan of the Kilkenny white, but the Viognier was very good. In addition, they do an awesome set of flavored sparkling wines — there’s an almond one, a raspberry one, and apricot. They weren’t pouring the apricot on the day we were there(much to my disappointment) but we did get to try the other two. I ended up buying a bottle fo the raspberry. My husband enjoyed their red wines, but the Pog Mo Thoin is the only one of those that really stood out to me. Next time we’re in town, we will be sure to stop in again. I wanna try that apricot! :D

I’m a club member. After receiving my first news letter I call the winery left my name and c card info stating I wanted one of the four cases of wine offered to members. When I followed up a rude lady informed me she was to bussy to listen to phone messages and the wine had soldout. Ok lesson learned, took a group of six to experience the winery. Mistake, I quickly put a face to the rude lady on the phone, the winemakers mother. In fairness to the family the father is ausome the sister also, my suggestion enjoy the wine, the winery, stay far away from the mother. You won’t have any trouble picking her out

Went there today and the owners mother was pouring for us. She was the most negative condescending person we have ever come across lacking all customer service. It was a beautiful place but the wine could not overpower the bad taste she left in our mouth.

My wife and I live in Livermore, are members of many wineries and frequently wine taste. Our travels took us Twain Harte where we first experienced the«kiss my ass» wine at a local tasting room. We were impressed with the wine and decided to visit the winery. With 4 of our friends, we headed over to Murphy’s this past Saturday. We were very disappointed with what we found. Our visit was a disaster from the start. We were greeted by a nice woman who stated that the limo of 8 – 10 people who came in ahead of us were going to be priority(really? We were 6 people but didn’t come in a limo? Was a limo a requirement?). The pours were the next surprise. They didn’t pour enough to taste. My wife and I ended up combining glasses so one of us could at least taste the wine. Please don’t mistake my expectation. I don’t expect a glass of wine to taste. But I do expect more than a few ‘eye-dropper’ drips in my glass. They were such small pours, that even combining our glasses together made tasting difficult. To round out the terrible experience, the woman pouring our wines ended up missing one entire varietal. We were asked to pick 6 wines at the start. However, she only poured 5. When we brought it to her attention, she insisted she pour 6. Then proceeded to tell us she poured them out of order. HUH? I think we could count 5 vs 6 pours. And to pour them out of order? She did mention that? Nope. While many of the reviews here look great, our experience wasn’t even close. I would certainly think twice about going back.

If I could give 100 stars I would! LOVE this winery and absolutely will be coming back! Fun, wonderful family atmosphere! Bought a bottle of wine worded in Irish«Kiss my Ass» wish I could have told the owner of Indian Rock that! Awful experience there but thats a whole other review. Highly recommend this winery! Great wines!!! Thank you for such a fun experience!

Nice winery run by local family between Murphys and Angels Camp. Very friendly greeters. Lot’s of wine selections. Blarney Red was my overall favorite and it got a Double Gold medal in the recent CA State Fair. Rich, red, robust blend. Nice finish. My favorite. Their apricot dessert wine was also very tasty. Worth the stop, and most likely the best tasting wine in the immediate region.

I love this place, and anytime we go visit family out-of-state, we have an order for Irish Wine to bring. Such a sweet and funny family, a great atmosphere in the tasting room. Very picturesque setting, when you get out of your car the family dogs will probably come say«hi». I am a sweet wine geek, so I love their apricot wine(especially paired with their champagne-style wine to make a sparkler, a-la Maya at Mineral Restaurant in Murphys) and also their Blarney White(or Green, depending on the time of year). The rest of my family is into the deep reds, and pretty much anything here makes them happy. Check this place out, you will not regret it. If you get a chance, ask them about their inspiration for the Pog-Ma-Thoin(sp?) wine.

Happened on this family winery while out for a «gals weekend» in the mountains. Can’t beat free tasting of wine and munchies. Although their big seller is a green-white wine that isn’t very spectacular(to say the least,) they have some very decent reds. I had to purchase a couple of bottles of their red blend to take home and share. Well worth the stop to relax and indulge.

Family run winery in Vallecito on Hwy 4 before Murphys. Its worth the preview & tasting and purchase. If your in Columbia go out Parrots Ferry to Hwy 4. A nice country road serving both Tuolumne & Calaveras County.
