Those 2 stars goes to the place and to the crew. And that’s it! Well, we ordered lauriat and that comes with fried rice, pancit canton, sweet and sour pork, and garlic chicken that cost $ 8+ tax. The fried rice taste okay but they don’t give much. The instant pancit canton that we buy at the strore taste better than their canton. It doesn’t have meat, but it had big chunks of cabbage and irregular slices of carrots. Let’s go to the fun part. I chose the sweet n sour pork because it looks so appealing on their menu board but when i got it, it looks exactly the same with the garlic chicken. If i didn’t see the sweet and sour sauce drizzled on top of it, i wouldn’t know. I and my sister were just laughing our ass off while eating it. We just didn’t bother to complain because we were so hungry at that time and we don’t want to ruin our day. I took some picture on that lauriat, and then you decide.

The best halo halo I ever had, the service is a bit slow but really worth the wait. Much better than jollibee down the street

Seriously? $ 5.49 for a cup of beef wonton soup with a 1-in cube of beef and 1 wonton?!

We came here because DJ’s was closed. Chicken was dry. The Shanghai lumpias tasted like they’ve been sitting out all day. It took quite awhile for the food to come out, so for the food to taste the way it did — no reason to come here again.

The young, Filipina ladies(Babaes) who served me were very nice and very polite; however, the meaty wontons they served me were minuscule and very few but, the wontons I did eat were flavorful. Actually, you need a microscope trying to find the wontons swimming in the noodle broth! I only found three wontons in the entire bowl; realizing the wontons shortage, it made me very sad. Oh, I forgot mentioning, I added the Tapsilog I bought at Seafood Market to the meaty wonton soup and it absolutely saved the wonton soup from being an utter, devastating disappointment.

An utter disappointment. This place was recommended to me by a dear friend so I came with good expectations. Blah this place is not Filipino at all. It was totally fake and nasty. I will never ever return!!! I ended up throwing my food away(and I hate doing that). My bf hated his food. We give it 2 thumbs down!!!

I really like this place mostly because of their prices. Granted this is a fast food chain but if you can get a combo plate with egg rolls, chow mein and orange chicken for $ 6, that’s a great deal right? Panda Express is more expensive than that. Love their beef wonton soup — the beef are stewed and tastes so good. And of course the pancits are good as usual. Their milk teas are too sweet for my taste but the mango shaved ice is really good for $ 3.

Went here today for lunch a there was a baby cockroach in the food. The lady tried to say it was a seed. LOL yeah right seeds have legs and a head. Thank god there was a food inspector there at the time. Needless to say they gave me my money back. And I’m sure just wanted me gone. The inspector then got up and went into the back where the kitchen is. And I walked out. I will not be back here again. Just gross.

Hrmm. If Jollibee is the Filipino equivalent of say, McDonalds, Chowking is… You know, I do not know where Chowking would fall. I can’t think of something a notch below McDonalds, since they’re already pretty low on the fast food totem pole already. Anyhow, Chowking is very underwhelming. The menu is an attempt at combinations/fusions of Chinese and Filipino cuisines. Side note: there’s a big population of Chinese in the Philippines and a whole lotta Filipino cuisine is Chinese-inspired, so I guess Chowking attempts to capitalize on that. So, you’ve got stuff like longanisa, tocino, and arroz caldo with the likes of meat buns, chow mein, and some dimsum items. So, you get a pretty big variety to choose from, menu-wise. Execution? Not so good. All the times I’ve eaten here, food is either not hot enough or not flavorful enough. It is usually a combination of both. So, don’t come here expecting a feast for the senses. You will be disappointed. On the plus sides, they have good service and their desserts are pretty decent. Nice to cool off to one of their ube shakes or halo halo. Still, those aren’t enough to be saving graces. If you really need a Filipino fast food fix, walk a few more feet to Jollibee. Or get some real Filipino food over at DJ’s. Sorry Chowking.

Plain and simple. The service here sucks and the people working here are rude! I’ve been here a few times before, but one day in particular I asked if they can cook an egg any other way besides over easy and the lady working told me it wasn’t possible. Seriously? Is it that hard to scramble an egg or cook it an extra minute so that it’s over hard?

I am very unsatisfied and disappointed with the overall service and food. I ordered a meal that came with a drink, but I asked to substitute the soda for a Thai tea and they charged me a separate order for Thai tea. I might as well have gotten my soda and Thai tea also. Or at least taken 50 cents off since I got the meal. In addition, they didn’t give me a straw for my Thai tea when I ordered to-go. They also forgot to give me the vinegar sauce. The sunny side egg was overlooked also. I’m not sure if I’ll be coming here again.

It’s fast food Filipino joint, so don’t expect gourmet. I come here for the Taho, which is hard to find and quite good. I decided to order something else once so I got the wonton soup because the picture looked so delicious, but was not impressed. So I’ll just come here for the Taho.

The Chinese style fried chicken is crispy and juicy. The soy crispy chicken is a hit or miss. Sometimes it’s perfect sometimes it’s over cooked. I’ve only been here 4 times but every time what never fails is the 10−20mins wait for an order no matter what i order. The Thai ice tea is good.

Nothing exciting. +: Ethnic Food, Portion(Not huge, not too small, Location(next to Seafood City) OK: Generic filipino food, Siopao, the wait is to be expected —: The area generally stinks, there is no «other»(juices) option if you are not a soda drinker if it comes with your meal unless you like paying for tap water.

Ugh. Rude, incompetent staff. Like they were having contests on who can be a bigger jerk to customers or something. And Beverly definitely won. I mean, it’s gotta take some type of commitment and some training to be that big a — trying to keep Unilocal classy and not cuss, but it’s a struggle. But the employees here just seem to have a commitment to mediocrity or something. Food is awful. Yes, it’s fast food. But dang, put a little creativity and value into it. Seriously, Soy Sauce Chicken is soy sauce and boiled chicken. WT. Also, plates are never filled and if you ask them to fill it, in great disdain for customers who ask to get what they pay for, they’ll fill it so that there’s a slop puddle on your tray too. Plus the dining room is always full of shifty looking loiterers and no one on staff seems to care.

Hesitant to eat here today because I swore never to step in any Chowking again. I usually go to the Concord Branch which is closer to where I live but ordering food takes FOREVER. It’s not like I go during mealtimes, in fact I’m the only one in line but it takes me forever to get my food. If you dare to eat at this branch, prepare to wait for at least 30 minutes. For Pete’s sake this is fastfood not a fancy restaurant! But I’m not reviewing Chowking at Concord(ok, I just did!) so here’s my review for Vallejo… I enjoyed it! I miss eating at Chowking! The bangus, tocino, garlic and egg was satisfying. The asado siopao was ok but enjoyed the dimsum better. My breakfast cost me $ 6.99 with coffee or soda. Next time I will try their taho for dessert, not their halo-halo coz I make mine better than anyone else hah! Place looks clean, a guy continuously wiping tables down(OCD?) but the smell from Seafood City kinda traveled to Chowking. Bathroom is clean. Got our food within 5 minutes! Yes! My husband said it will take a long time for him to eat at Chowking again but if we’re heading to Six Flags, this is the place to go!

I stop at Chowking to grab a buko pandan shake whenever I’m grocery shopping at Seafood City. That’s pretty much the only thing I’ll order from here. I suggest getting it without tapioca though – their pearls are a bit overcooked, and therefore mushy. This location definitely doesn’t compare to Chowking in the Philippines. Even without the comparison, it’s not great Chinese/Filipino fast food. If you’re hungry and looking for a quick fix, I’d head to Jollibee next door instead.

For a fast food it is not bad but not the greatest either. There are neighboring Filipino restaurants a few feet away with a sit down meal and for a few more dollars it can provide you a better experience and much more selections and get more for your money! Most of the foods here are measured and portions are small but enough to say«okay — a little pricey for a fast food but not a rip off!» I wouldn’t recommend taking big groups here as $ 7 to $ 8+ and up per meal per person can get pricey as most does not even include drinks! They do have special combo with 1 chicken, rice and 1 other side dish of your choice for $ 5.99 + for $ 1.00 more you get a discounted drink(soda/tea). Not too bad! I ordered the«BANGUS» which is a deep fried milk fish boneless with garlic and vinegar sauce which came with 1 egg and for an additional price, you can make it 2 eggs combo meal with garlic rice. My Halo-Halo which is made from crushed ice with evaporated milk along with tropical fruits with Taro ice cream was about $ 4.50. I will say their Halo-Halo here is very good — better than most that I’ve had considering they are a fast food restaurant. All in all, I think if you are looking for a Filipino food that is fast, quick and easy meal in and out… try eating at Chowking!
