Love this place! Can’t believe I didn’t know about this place earlier. I’m not a vegetarian but all their food has so much flavor that I don’t mind not having meat! They also have lunch specials during the work week which give you a variety of sides. I would definitely recommend coming here. Favorites — paneer tikka masala, aloo saag, samosa chaat, mango lassi

Great food, great service, and convenient location just off of Hwy 37⁄29. Nothing high-end, obviously, but I called in for a take out. The lady who took our order was simply lovely. My husband never orders vegetarian food, and he too was pleased. I went there for the first time at night and had a hard time locating the«VEC» sign, which was unlit. It’d be nice to improve the sign.

We stopped here on our way to sacramento. Their paranthas and samosas are really good. Prompt service and friendly people.

The food here is really very tasty! I love the Masala Chai Hot Tea! It is delicious! I only wish they would fill the cup up all the way! I always feel like they only fill it 1⁄3 of the way! Most of the time I have to order a second one before I leave! The samosas are one of the best I’ve ever had! This is one small business owner that works hard and is passionate about his food. He cooks with lots of love for his food and his family. You can taste it! If you like Indian food at a very inexpensive, reasonable price, and that tastes amazing… You must check out this spot! There are basically 3 people who work here every day: son, mother, and sister team! All are extremely friendly and always greet you with a smile! This place is a strong 4 star Unilocal spor. I may even give it a 4 ½ stars. Unfortunately, I had to take off a star because my Masala Dosa was all broken up and soggy when I opened up the aluminum foil. It isn’t usually like this. I don’t know what happened. I know they had to notice this when they were wrapping it up because it was all crumpled inside! The bread this time was doughy and not cooked. I ended up tossing it! It was disappointing because I was really looking forward to eating it! They only serve it on the weekend! It’s a good thing I picked up an extra samosa!!! :)

I have been to many Indian restaurants, but the best Chana masala I’ve ever had so far is from here, and the ladies are pretty nice as usual

I stopped in based on reviews and YES, VEC lives up to the ratings. I ordered a samosa cholle, 2 samosas and cholle, spicy garbanzo beans, and a masala chai. The staff is happy, fast service, hot food, fresh flavors and I was satisfied. I will come here again.

Food is delish! I always buy the samosas here because they are just so darn cheap for $ 0.75! I wish the menu was more descriptive though for people who have never had Indian food & when I asked what was good or popular the lady just said«everything is good» welllll yeahhh… but you could at least give some sort of suggestions! Anyways, they could also work on their customer service skills because they are lacking big time! Just a simple greeting would even be nice.

Still go here after discovering it many months ago. Still a great place to call in and order then pick up and go. Don’t be afraid to ask the person on the phone to clarify what specials are on for the day. Samosa s are still $.75 ea.

Two people eat for under $ 20. We love meat, but don’t miss it here. There is so much beauty and flavor in every dish. The sweets are just the perfect punctuation on the meal.

How many 100% Vegetarian restaurants are there in Solano County? Any guesses? Yep, just this one. What a shame it would be to not support this family run business. For that alone, I’m a regular customer. The fact that the food is pretty darn tasty will keep me coming back for years. Or so long as I live in Solanoooooooo County. While their menu is all Vegetarian, it’s not written very clearly. Most menu descriptions are not complete so you can’t really tell what is Vegan just by reading. I always have to ask what’s Vegan and I swear every time the items that the cashier circles, will change. I’ll take her word for it and it’s probably just my faulty memory. They must have the whole family in the back whipping up food as it generally comes out lightening quick. Service is not really their forte but it’s far from terrible. We usually go with the reliably Vegan at most Indian places, Chana Masala. Spiced but not spicy garbanzo beans in a fragrant sauce are a often a delicious delight. Especially when eaten with their tasty Paratha or Chapati bread. Yep, there’s no Naan served here so I believe all their beads are Vegan. The Aloo Saag is probably our favorite of the entrees. The spinach to spice ratio is always perfect mixed with a few potatoes. Their Aloo Tikki is well done but I usually go for the Mixed Veggie Pakora fritters instead. Then I regret it half way through because as my babygirl says, «I can feel my arteries clogging» as I eat it. It’s still good and probably worth it. Who am I kidding? We really only come here for the $ 0.75 cent Samosas. That’s bordering on catering prices! Not to mention they’re just as good as you’ll find most anywhere. How can you go wrong with stuffed and fried dough balls? The exterior is soft, yet crunchy at the corners. The aromatic potato and garbanzo filling is always satisfying. You can get it as a «chaat» for just $ 2.99. While my Hindi is a bit rusty, I believe it means two large samosas in a bowl, drenched in a chana masala like bath. Almost an entrée unto itself at a fraction of the cost. There are two reliably Vegan-friendly Indian places in Vallejo and the two couldn’t be more different. While one is a regular sit down type restaurant, VEC is a grab and go place operating on a shoestring budget. Sure you can choose to sit at one of the few tables inside but you WILL smell like Indian food until you can make it to the shower. Also eating from the Styrofoam plates and bowls doesn’t exactly give you the restaurant dining experience that you’re probably looking for anyways. Just call in your order, or order to go and you’ll be quite satisfied with a cheap, delicious meal done right.

I haven’t had Indian food in a long time and I had the sudden craving for it. It was satisfied. You can’t beat the prices. I paid $ 7.30 for Chana saag with rice and a samosa the size of my first. The Chana saag served as two meals for me since they give you so much. So good. And I love that it’s vegetarian for those days of lent when I can’t have meat. The mango lassi is super creamy and sweet. I have to resist. Also, the interior is like any classic eatery. You pay and order up front and sit wherever, minimal decoration. They are very nice people working here too. They make me happy. Or that could also be the food too.

My parents were looking for a vegetarian Indian restaurant and found this place on Unilocal. They are all into trying highly-rated places on Unilocal,so they decided to go here. I met them here on a Sunday afternoon. It is a small restaurant with 8 – 10 tables, in a strip mall. It’s kind of hard to find because the sign above the door says VEC or VEG in big letters instead of the name of the restaurant, Vaishnu. We got a couple samosas and an order of pakora to start. I ordered vegetable korma and paratha, and my parents ordered chole bhature and masala dosa. I love Indian food, but some restaurants make it too spicy for me. The samosas and pakora came out first. The samosas tasted different than any I’ve had, but they were delicious! Very fresh and yummy. Pakora is not my favorite, but it was great here too. Our entrees came out shortly after. In fact, all the food came out very quickly, but was obviously fresh. The vegetable korma order came with rice, a bit of salad, some yogurt thing, and a chutney. The paratha was more like a chappati, but I loved the vegetable korma. I told myself I would only eat half, but I ate it all! My parents agreed that the masala dosa wasn’t the best, but we all agreed that the chole bhature was fantastic! Great food, and all for only around $ 25.

Amazing gluten free options. Just ask whether or not they are using bread or garbanzo bean flour and they will know what you mean. Mango lassi, best I have ever had, not too thick and I really liked the flavor. The garbanzo bean flour sweets — delicious, I had one, then two, then 3, I swear they are small treats but worth every calorie. Fried Korma, gluten free and tasty! Chana saag and matter paneer flavorful and just awesome. Will definitely come back here. Authentic taste of India, out what I imagine it to be!

Food lives up to its reviews! Great price, large portions and very tasty! I’d prefer to eat off of a real plate for dine –in but it’s so good I can care a little less. I wish there were pictures to look at or more detailed ingredient lists though, as I am vegan and do not have 100% knowledge of Indian cuisine. Despite these things, I will DEFINITELY be back.

I’m surprise I haven’t left a review for this place yet seeing as I stop by maybe once every two weeks or so. The food here is delicious. I’m not a very picky eater so I normally get the lunch special(s). No matter what I ordered it was always a generous portion for a affordable price. I’ve also gotten to try dishes completely new to me and loved every single one. Some dishes I recommend is the masala dosa Imagine a fried crêpe with a spicy potato filling. Along with the paneer tikki masala. :)

Not the best Indian food I’ve had but it was better than nothing around here. Mainly came here to catch up with a friend who loves to come here so I thought«why not?». We ordered the Chana Saag, samosas, and naan bread. The taste was alright… rice was a little dry and not the most flavorful Indian food I’ve had… the good news is everything is super cheap here but I guess the taste quality is exactly what you paid for. Will I come back again? May be not unless my friends wanna come back lol
