Marcel Weinberger OD

He was a wonderful doctor! I have been to so many horrible eye doctors in the past who are only looking to take your money, but Dr. Weinberger is such a genuine, caring individual who is really out to help his patients. The office was located in his home so its a bit small but very high tech and clean. Absolutely 0 wait time the two times I went to visit him! And I even booked my appointment the day of with ease. His office hours accommodate a busy, working individual such as myself. He knows what he’s talking about and answered any question I had with expertise. I told him my budget after the eye exam, and he made sure to steer me away from any frames that were out of my price range. He has such a laid back, fun personality and I actually had a great time picking out my new frames! The only reason I didn’t give him 5 stars was due to the fact that he told me he was giving me a highly discounted price for everything, and when I went home to do my research it seemed to me that he was fronting a lot on the real price of the frames and contact lens fitting, to compensate for the «deals» he gave me on the anti-​reflective glare and lens fitting. Overall he didn’t technically over-​charge me for his services, but his tactics to lure me in to buy these products from him were very clever. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for a new eye doctor.

I have been wearing glasses since 3^rd grade and have been wearing contacts for about 10 years now. I went to Dr. W because i was looking to get an eye exam for my husband and myself that day. I called a few minutes earlier and he said we could come in. We went in and welcomed us warmly. For some reason, he misunderstood me and began to test my eye sight for contacts (lens fitting) instead of glasses. I ended up paying over a hundred dollars for the lens fitting. He repeatedly insisted that he is charging me HALF of his fee where as every place i have previously been to, always charged around the same ball park (which i paid as half his fee). But then again i thank him for his time and consideration. I got my contact lens prescription as well as glasses for my husband and myself. At the end when i went to pick up our glasses, he told me that since my eyesight is really bad, he got me the thinner lenses in the frame as to which i had previously insisted that i would not like to spend a dollar extra other than whats covered by my insurance. So i paid an EXTRA 35 dollars for what i did not even ask for. Overall, i think he is an awesome doctor but only for the people who don’t mind spending a BIT more than planned. He is very caring.
pros: he is very accommodating, nice and thorough. He had my glasses ready in 2 days !!! — that was AWESOME! Since the contacts that he gave me as a sample were not comfortable, he offered to give me a prescription so that i could continue to order my lenses online. He is also going to get me some other samples.
Cons: Very expensive frames. I feel the frame i got was over priced. We went in thinking we would ONLY Pay the copays and a lil more which would’ve been under a hundred dollars but ended up paying around $ 300.

Dr. Weinberger is a good doctor. He has a laid-​back persona, that creates a feeling of comfort. Honestly, I’m not too keen of going to eye doctors because of my sensitive eyes, but he made it amusing. He also has a collection of glasses, to purchase after the eye check up! I will definitely keep his business card for my next purchase of glasses.
