Target

This review is based on the Valley Stream, NY location and not the chain itself.
A ratty and somewhat messy store nearby a dead-​on-​the-​inside, forgotten Long Island mall. Every visit here has been dreadful. Parking lot is too tight and gross, too, with carts often sitting around and trash are usual blights. Every single department is a sty here too, not surprisingly reflective of the area though. Produce area is typically understocked. Came here one Sunday morning and every bag of anything green was gone. Store always seems short-​staffed and employees seem to hate their lives and let customers here about it.
Come before 11AM on Sunday to avoid crowds or when half of the surrounding towns roll out of bed. One of the consistently worst Target stores ever visited.

Nice big store. Prices are reasonable. Great sales every week. Lines tend to be long but move fast. Staff is great and very helpful. There’s also a starbucks inside and a place to buy pizza and slushies. Big parking lot.

Sarah at the checkout register needs retraining on how to speak to the guests instead of arguing, what a complete waste with her attitude she was beyond rude and argued the entire time…

I come to this location because it is closer to home. Honestly I do not like coming here. There is always a situation in the parking lot. The employees are always having conversations amongst themselves that probably shouldn’t be had especially with small children in the store. Depending on the day that you come good luck finding a shopping cart. The days they are restocking or whatever they claim to be doing you can walk down aisles with carts filled to the brim with products. If it wasn’t for the fact that I absolutely love Target I wouldn’t come to this location or give it 3 stars.

I very rarely leave reviews, better yet I never leave reviews. I shop at this target a lot as I can get tons of items for my wife and kids all in one place. Every time I come in this target the store is well staffed, clean and bright and just has a uplifting feeling —- UNTIL you walk the store and hear numerous employees using the «N****» word, don’t get me wrong I am an African American and hear this word used everyday, however to walk in a mutli-​billion dollar company and hear it used 10 – 15 times from multiple associates is just unacceptable. I am a retail manager myself and if I ever heard that word being used in front of customers they would no longer work for me.
Target Valley Stream you need to do better, you are better than that. I expect that from Walmart associates in Valley Stream, not Target. «Fast Fun And Friendly» I think not.

My happy place. Store stays pretty clean and in order totally different environment from Walmart on the other side of the mall.
Avoid high traffic times — after school/​work hours and just before closing — cashiers stay pretty busy. Morning stroll through the aisles are my favorite.
However, their dollar section could be more fun like Westbury or Commack. And their sales in other areas in clothes are more my style but I guess that depends on the stores’ buyer.

This is my go to place. It is always clean & organized. The staff are nice and very helpful. The lines are not too crazy which is good. I can always fine all my regular items.

Just bought a pair of pants and some cosmetics at target. Girl was flirting so much with a male coworker that she forgot to ring up the pants. Great?

I use to love this store and shopped there at least twice a week for myself or my three grandkids. They had a big toy section plus so much more. Now months go by and I rarely go anymore. Last year they ruined the store by making it a food shopping place. They cut back on many other departments to cater to groceries. The clothing aisles are so crowded and narrow. Difficult to walk down the aisles and the toy dept. is nothing like it use to be. I do have to give this store credit for two things. They had a big selection of Christmas wrapping paper, cards and decorations. They are excellent with holiday décor items. All holidays.
Also I find the sales help very helpful and nice. They don’t stand around talking to each other while ignoring customers like a lot of places today.

I visited this location yesterday to use a gift card that I was given for Christmas. I’ve visited here scarcely in the past but was sooooo turned off from the rowdy people and the rude employees. I found everything I needed without a problem.
It seems to me that this Target has completely changed up. Their employees are still nonchalant, using phones in the corner, walking away so you wouldn’t talk to them, and simply not being helpful. BUT, that can easily be looked passed.
A friend told me about the «Cartwheel» app for Target and I downloaded it. It basically allows you to pick items and get a small discount on some items and you can also scan a product and see if there’s a discount. If not, they’ll show you something similar that’s on sale.
I spent an hour finding items on my cartwheel list and also scanning products and I really ended up saving a good amount of money.
I was sooooo relaxed while shopping. Not too much noise and not a huge crowd. Mind you it was around 8pm on a weekday.
The only con as I mentioned before was the staff. They can care less.

Worst customer service encountered! It was a sunny, hot, and humid day. My husband and I took our bottles and cans to Target’s redemption machines located outside in the back of the Target building. The plastic machine was «full» so we called Target’s customer service the first time for them to send someone over to fix the machine. We waited for more than 10 minutes and no one showed up so we called again. Then 25 minutes later, they finally send someone over but the guy does not know how to fix the machine. The guy called his manager over and his manager told us that they have to have a different party come over to fix the machines because Target is not responsible for the machines. OMG! We waited for more than 30 minutes for them just to tell us that we can’t redeem the bottles using their machines. What a waste of our time and we were sweaty too! Instead, the manager told us to redeem our bottles inside Target’s customer service, so we went inside and the manager did not inform the customer service staff of our situation. The customer service woman gave us an attitude, so we told her to call her manager over. Then her manager came over and he also gave us a nasty attitude with this type of fed-​up look on his face when we tried to explain our viewpoint to him. All he was doing was defending Target and his staff members. He did not even want to listen to us. First, he said that «NONE of the Target stores can fix the bottle/​can redemption machines». However, when we confronted him that we had the Target staff fix the bottle/​can redemption machines at the Target located in 13 505 20^th Ave, College Point, NY 11 356‑2446, he immediately changed his statement and said that «THIS Target cannot fix the bottle/​can redemption machines». Again, his tone of voice and expression toward us were rather rude and disrespectful. We have been loyal Target customers and we do not have to be treated in this type of way. It is truly unacceptable from Target. My Husband did file a formal complaint against this particular Target manager. We wished him good luck when we left Target. Never will we return to this Target. What a disappointment!

They didn’t have any iwatch accessories however the store was very presentable compared to walmart. The store was bright not friendly because I saw no staff or hardly any. However they did have items on floor that were neat as soon as you walk in. Staff who were on the floor were talking to each other not customers.

Unlike it’s competition Walmart, this Target actually has some structure.
They have well mannered employees and managers that actually get things done.
This Target is always organized and if they run out of something, never hesistate to ask one of the employees they most likely have it in stock in the back.
The food sections has almost every basic item. They dont have a lot of the nitty gritty seasonings or the cultural items.
Target’s prices are always jumpy. But price wise Walmart wins. Customer Service wise, Target wins.
I would recommend.

My biggest complaint about this place are the employees as they are never around and when you do find one, they just point and stare when you ask them a question. I am sure there are some great people that work here, but I must always be here on their days off.
The store is well stocked and depending on the time of day the checkout lines can run fast, but I always get stuck in a 15 – 20 minute wait to check out, because the family in front of me is sticking up for the zombie apocalypse. If there was another Target in the area I would go. There is a Walmart down the road, but I haven’t built up the courage to try that store out yet.

Target I like you, and you know why?
1. Organized
2. Spacious
3. Great Parking Lot
4. Alert Employees (they can’t wander in that store)
Target, the things I need you to fix.
1. Darn one open register for the whole store! Curse you! Target and Walmart must be cousins because you have hundreds of people walking in and out of your store. So, it would nice for me to go grocery shopping (laughs) and not to stay in a line for 20 minutes.

This location is very convenient for me and I can’t say that I’ve ever had a negative experience in the yrs I’ve been going there.
The location is huge and now has a full service market including fresh fruits and veggies making it ideal for one stop shop.
The floor is very clean and well orgnaized. Shelves are well stocked with the latest selections. I love the bed and bath isles. They have a super affordable line Main Stay that fits a teachers budget but keeps my apt on trend and chic.
Customer service is great. My only pet peeve is that they do tend to switch things up a lot.

They opened late on Christmas eve, even after the Green Acres Mall had closed it’s door.
I particularly like the one stop reasonable and good quality Target offers.
Most times I find what I’m looking for right here. If not, I’m always directed to a store which has them. That’s good customer service.
I love that they have a «traffic cop» that lets you know which cashier to go to so even though queues may be long, your wait never is.
I have been told I shouldnt shop here for reasons I won’t get into but if my good shopping experience continues I will always return.

The Customer Service here is great. The lines move fast! There is management on the floor directing like traffic. The Red Card helps you earn 5% off your purchase, which isn’t a lot but something after you spend a lot. It also unlocks deals on the site. I love that Target carries quality items 1-​Stop Shopping. Furniture, Baby gear, clothing, cleaning supplies. Food…electronics! Anything you need!!! If you are buying clothing, read the country in which it is manufactured. Thailand, India and Indonesia= great quality. No for Made In China!!! After your done shopping, there is the Café with Starbucks & Pizza Hut. Mostly processed garbage, but a cool feature. Arrive early at opening to avoid the pandemonium in the parking lot :) Happy Hunting !

This Target is great early in the morning. Very organized and the staff is helpful. Usually good sales going on weekly. K-​Cups are nicely priced, so I like to stock up on them.
I always catch myself buying the thick cut bacon, which the quality is surprisingly great. A decent meat selection is also available.
Its priced slightly higher than Walmart, but the shopping experience is 100x better.

This Target is on the way to work in the morning and I was super early getting to work so I decided to stop in then instead of waiting till after work to get the 3 things I needed. I’m so glad I did. It was 8:05 in the morning, no one was in there. I found everything I needed and checked out in less than 12 minutes.
The absolute best shopping experience in a Target that I’ve ever had!
