Absolutely amazing food. My cousin and I came here for the first time and we were blown away. We had their June special which was the«Omaha burger» AMAZING. I hope that they make it a regular menu item. Their appetizers are amazing as well. Great staff. Will definitely be going back very soon!

Delicious burgers, fries, and everything in between! Every time I go here, I MUST sit outside. The outdoor seating area is absolutely gorgeous and has a very nice ambiance. I always got the Rivera Grilled Cheese, regular fries and a side of ranch to dip. Mhmmm, it’s delicious. I’ve also tried the veggie burger, which is also very pleasant. My only complaints are that I’ve recently become vegan, so there’s nothing to eat on the menu besides French fries and a salad. Perhaps the veggie burger can be made vegan, but I have high doubts that the bread doesn’t contain egg/milk. Also, the waiters/waitresses are always so nice, but the management has very strange rules when it comes to seating. First, you cannot put down a reservation until your entire party is there, which is quite an inconvenience if the place is busy and you are waiting for someone who is running late or lives far away. Secondly, if you choose to sit out, but it looks like it might rain, the staff will tell you that once you sit outside you aren’t allowed to get a table inside of it starts to rain. I understand if every table is full, you’re out of luck, but even when there’s available tables? That’s just plain stupid. Anyways, I’d recommend Burger Haus if you are interested in trying a good burger place. It is a bit pricy, but I think it’s worth it. I only wish that more vegan options would be placed on the menu. And make sure your entire party is on time, or you’ll have to wait even longer for a table!

My wife ordered her burger medium well, her son ordered his burger medium well and I ordered mine medium, My wife ordered the corn on the cob, I ordered corn on the cob and our son ordered parmesan cheese and truffle oil fries. The corn and the fries were good BUT, All the burgers were served well done and dry I couldn’t eat mine I ate ¼ of mine and my son ate another ¼ of mine to try it, my wife could only eat ¼ of hers and I tried hers(I ate ¼ and it also was bone dry) My wife and son like theirs a little on the well done side, but they were hard to swallow, I told the server and he asked if I wanted another burger, I told him no and he said«what do you want me to do about it?» I said I was just trying ti inform you, then he walked away. I sat and waited for him to walk by, then I got his attention and I informed him that it was to dry I couldn’t eat it and I’m not going to pay for it. He said«well I wasn’t going to charge you for the corn and was going to give it to you as complementary but now I’m going to charge you for it. I told him that I would gladly pay for my wife’s corn but I feel I shouldn’t have to pay for mine. He said, «you ate it you should pay for it» I told him I will never eat here again, he seemed to not care. Common folks it was only $ 2, So I talked to the manager and he said he would talk to the server and get back to me. The manager came back and said you ate the corn you pay for it. I told the manager that the server said he was not going to charge me for the corn until I refused to pay for the extremely dry burger, The manager said you ate the corn you pay for it! I said it’s not about the corn it’s about the principal, I’ll pay the $ 2 and for $ 2 dollars you lost 3 customers plus all the non-potential customers I will inform. At this point they were getting snobbish with a cocky attitude. I will guarantee that I will never set foot in that establishment again and if anyone were to ask I would steer them away and tell them they will get better burgers and service elsewhere. When the doors close on this place it will not have been to soon. If they would have accommodated this customer with $ 2 I would have come back and tried them again. That’s the difference between good management and poor management.

It’s too bad that they’ve decided to introduce a stupid ‘legend’ to their culture with their recent menu revision. The food pretty much stood in its own, guys — why insult our intelligence the tale of sir j. r burghstein. When you have a moment: pls message me back with the name of the marketing firm whose brilliant idea it was to pass off this swill to your customers — so I can enlist their services(never). My advice would be to burn a few less cycles trying to be clever, and continue doing what you’re already pretty darn good at.

It had been a while since I visited. I came because I knew they had an extensive craft beer menu but forgot how delicious the burgers are. Truly a gourmet burger spot! The seared tuna is to die for!

Honestly. Red robin blows this away! I had hoped this not to be true. But if you want a boring burger. Come here. The pickles are good. Fries are ok. Just average and overpriced

Expensive ground beef. Expensive beer(800% markup). Marked it off the list. They’ve made enough to open one in Schererville.

This place was amazing. I went here with my family after a basketball game and I was blown away by the quality of the food and how great the service was. I know you’re thinking«how great can a burger place be?» This place has some unique and delicious burgers, I highly recommend them.

Pros –Delicious burger, the patty was the perfect thickness and the pickles were thick –Amazing Valpo Velvet chocolate mik shake –Friendly & attentive server with a good memory –Good ambiance/lighting Cons –Fries had that sea-salt-Wendy’s flavor that I really dislike –The burger had too much onion. They took a slice right through an onion and stuck it in there. Some people might like that, but it was not for me. –The tap water was truly disgusting. I don’t know if it was old pipes or a dirty ice machine, but the water tasted like your mouth tastes after 2 days of strep throat. Neutral –My mom’s chili tasted a lot like Wendy’s chili,(make of that what you will.) –The loudness was okay at lunch, but I feel like it could get super loud at dinner with all the hard surfaces. –I would not recommend taking someone here on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd date if you plan on eating a burger and are still trying to convince them that you’re perfect. This is by far the messiest burger I have ever eaten.

Gone about 3 times now– service is standard, food is subpar, and way over priced. Way better placed to get a burger.

Burgers are great-don’t bother getting salad. It’s just not worth it. And the garlic fries are amazing! Been a few times and our service has always been good.

YUM!!! Their burgers are GOOD! In town visiting and was treated to dinner here. I ordered the Santiago burger, and it was delicious! The perfect amount of spice and full of flavor… not to mention huge! Mmmmm… so good. The feta dressing was OUTOFTHISWORLD!!! I need to find out where I can buy it!!! It’s similar to bleu cheese dressing… but obviously made with feta. It was HEAVEN, and you need to try it!(You’ll thank me!) Our server was really efficient and friendly. Only downside is the cost. Pretty steep, in my opinion. Our bill for 5 burgers, a kids meal and *no drinks* was around $ 80…ouch! All in all, a delicious place and one I would go back to, if I was in town again!

ok food, ok service… service is seemingly good but then you realize how passive it is. «how is everything» was ‘asked’ often enough but all i could see was a blur-of-a-server as she never waited long enough for an answer. that said, our water glasses remained empty until we flagged her down. wish there was a «true» vegi burger being a burger joint(a homemade patty vs. a giant mushroom). the salad was fine and the onion rings were mushy and the breading too sweet. fairly priced and quick service so might come back if in the area.

My wife and I went here with neighbors after Stack’s said there was an hour wait to be seated. Glad we decided to listen to our neighbors and check this place out. We sat outside, and it was really a nice experience. The waiter was very friendly and took our drink order right away. The beers on tap are plentiful and varied. I had the Jalapeño Burger and it was probably in my top 5 burgers of all time. My wife had the fish and chips and she was very happy with her food as well. Check this place out, it’s an awesome place to eat. The service is good and there is a beer for everyone.

Came in to grab a burger for lunch and like most places in Valpo the parking is kind of limited. When I came in the front door place looked clean and inviting. Had to wait for several minutes to be seated and that seemed to be a on going theme. Seemed it was nobody’s job to seat or greet people. Today I had the Aussie Burger medium rare and I upgraded my fries to the Garlic Parmesan for two dollars more. The burger had good flavor and the bacon that came on this burger was awesome however my burger was well done which was a disappointment. The fries where just ok didn’t need to spend two extra dollars on them because they didn’t really have much taste to them. The restaurant did have a patio for outdoor seating which was nice and they had a nice little bar that had several different craft beers on tap which was a nice surprise. I was kind of surprised on the bathroom size it was just a one person bathroom which was clean just dark. Although I would say the service wasn’t that great today and the food was average in my opinion. I will come back and try some of there different burgers and other options.

Oh Burgerhaus, you’ve yet to disappoint me. I’m two visits in and have had the most awesome, attentive servers and waitstaff, and ridiculously amazing non-meat burgers. You’re basically a vegetarian’s dream. Portobello mushroom burger — fan-freaking tastic. Your veggie patty? Insanely flavorful… AND you’ll let me sub it for any meat patty on any of your 10+ creative burger options?! Winning. I can attest to the amazingness of the Santiago with the veggie patty, chipotle Monterrey cheese, avocado, lettuce, tomato, chipotle mayo and fried jalapeños($ 13 and no, the jalapeños aren’t that spicy once they’re fried). Love this one — the food, the location(right on the canal!) and the service are all top notch!

First things first, the parking situation here is unacceptable. This is Valpo, not the city, there is not a reasonable expectation of public transportation thus you restaurant must have enough parking. In addition, the lack of parking forces people to park on the side of the road, creating dangerous blind spots. That rant out of way, the food was better than average but not spectacular. They Sheboygan(an April special) was very good, as were the curly fries. My wife’s «House Burger» was ok. It was not packed and the room was very loud, the only advantage being it blocked out the terrible«techno» music playing out of the incorrectly mounted Bose speakers. And since I had to find a spot and walk to the restaurant after dropping off my wife the hostess asked her if the party was all there, implying that she would not be seated until I got there. According to my wife the lady who came in after her for a table of 2 seemed annoyed that my wife was seated first even though her dinner mate made it inside before I did. Also, Red Gold instead of Heinz and no mustard on table.

A great choice for a gourmet burger. I ordered the Aussie Burger. It was really tasty. The wife had the BurgerHaus burger. She really enjoyed it. We didn’t get the French fries but the salad. It was a great combo. My sons ordered the American cheese burgers and a milk shakes. The shakes were thick and rich. The restaurant is really small. We had to wait for a table. But the wait was all well worth it. They have a small bar that offers a great selection of craft beers. We love coming here when we are in the area. I truly enjoyed the burgers. I highly recommend it. Enjoy! #SeñorFood

Another hidden gem in NW Indiana. A very comfortable dining room with hardwood floors and brick interior with a very spacious patio for lazy summer dining is a perfect environment to enjoy high quality burgers with gourmet toppings, delicious sides like cajun tater tots, a modest but diverse selection of draft and bottle beers and ciders, and Valpo Velvet milkshakes. Service is friendly and prompt. Plenty of parking. One of the few reasons to have a burger close to home.
