Ok. so this place is great food, until i order the Chiles Rellenos. It should be call huevos Rellenos. it came with one small chile and the rest was crap. I didn’t order eggs. My wife order two sopes one asada and one carnitas, they gave her two big chunks of pork wtf? The cook is so lazy didn’t want to shred the meat??? This is a great little restaurant please don’t ruin it by being lazy.

Great lunchtime service. I had the caldo de pollo and it was very good and rich. Everything looked and tasted great. Will try the birria next time.

I’m very picky when it comes to eating Mexican food outside the home. This place is really good, and really clean. They’re Chilaquiles, cal do de res, and carne asada plates are really good. They’re tortillas a delicious warm and hand made. The service is great, people are nice and attentive to your needs.
Even they’re bathroom is super clean.
Great food, service, and atmosphere.

Must try this place. The birria is to die for. They have it with goat but is amazing. I come frequently even if I just come for a carne asada taco with beans and a beer of course. And to top it off the service is great. Anthony is so kind and patience so don’t forget to tip the young fellow. Is a great place to come if you are craving Mexican food when you have a super hangover BTW they have michealadas.

Exelent food been there many times its always clean and great customer service will b coming back.

I work in the area they are a very sweet company always packed very authentic tasting food unlike most Spanish restaurants they are very much in a category of there own I appreciate the time and work they put into there food excellent staff and very clean restaurant even in the city of van nuys

A couple Tips from Pancho should you decide to come check this place out.
1) Correct address is 6643 Van Nuys Blvd, not 6641 as listed on Unilocal,yeah not far off but.
2) You DO NOT enter from Van Nuys Blvd, you must go around back and enter from the parking lot area.
3) Unilocal has this place is listed as «$$ — $ 11-​$ 30» wrong again, it’s your typical «$» Mexican food spot.
I love me some good Birria, haven’t had any in a while so I just had to stop on in and check things out, peeps were friendly and food arrived pretty quickly.
Birria de Chivo en Caldo —
You can order your Birria on a plate with a side of rice and beans or as a soup with broth! I prefer it this way, I think a good broth makes the dish.
Caldo/​Broth was clean, meaning not a bunch of fat floating in it, had real nice flavor, the meat Chivo that’s Goat
for you gabachos, had a little fat not much, but did have bones, some like the bones I prefer not, overall a very good Birria de Chivo and would definitely come back. 4-​Stars
Tortillas de Maiz Hechas a Mano —
Very thick hand made corn tortillas, that were s-​l-​i-​g-​h-​t-​l-​y undercooked for my liking.
They also have some nice house made salsa, just ask for a Hotter one than the default one they bring out with the chips!

They have the best handmade tortilla tacos and some great micheladas to go with it the customer service is great and prices are reasonable

I’ve been here 4xs now and all I gotta say is yummy and ill still be coming back for more. It’s a small business and I mean its small but its a good place to eat. The people are nice and helpful.

when i used to work at the warehouse shoe sale a few retail store doors down, this was the spot to go!!!
the asada was always top notch, i had a shrimp plate that was rather surprisingly good. but my favorite and go to entrée was the birria. it’s their thing. add some lime and oh my goodness, friends, your taste buds won’t know what to do with themselves. i love the old soda bottles and sangria too.
but in all seriousness, i hated that job, so this was the perfect getaway for lunch. grub on my birria, drink a few modelos, go back to work.
it’s a great hole in the wall. lol.
