I like their lentil soup and their chicken kebab. The lady here is very nice and sweet.

I usually don’t buy anything from Van Nuys blvd because of all the creeps but I had to stop here to try their lunch special lamb for $ 5.40 Brings Rice, Salad, lamb or chicken(your preference), with bread & bean soup. It was alright not the best but it did hit the spot ;)

Worst food ever. The fries were horrible. You’re way better off going to a cheesy fast food joint. If you have absolutely no place else to eat, are starving from spending countless hours next door at the parking violations bureau then try the chicken koobideh. Oh and also the cucumber yogurt was home made but besides that this place isn’t worth a pretty penny.

Not really just 3 starts… Maybe 3.5 but definitely not 4 or 5. Sadly, this place is under new management, and is NOT the same deliciousness it used to be 5 – 6 years ago. My boyfriend and I are always trying new things and we like to stick to it because it’s like finding our«regular» anyways, we’ve loved the old owner don’t know his name and the lady who is still there until this day. They were both friendly and always generous because they’ve known us for quite a while. The food NOW is always a hit or miss, but more a miss which is not good at all. The new management collaborated it into a Pizza Man also but I just think that’s weird. Kabobs/pizza? Not really an appetizing mix. The reason we still go there is because that lady still works there even under new management. She even asks if it tastes the same and we tell her the truth. Anyways hopefully we either find a place where it taste so good you’ll want some a few hours later like this place USED to be, or we stick with this and it’s more of settling/compromising /: but we sure used to love the barg and darbar plates with the lentil soup

Tasty food, good service, vegetarian options, free soup with your meal. It’s a lot of food(at least for me) so if you don’t have a sizeable appetite or someone to share with, make sure you’re headed home soon. I could have taken half of mine with me but was headed for a meeting.

This place is great. Been going here for 5 years+ since I work in the area. Get the chicken thigh kabob or the lord’s place(chicken thigh & fillet mignon). The chicken is juicy and tasty. In my opinion, their chicken thigh kabobs are the best i’ve tasted. It is a little pricey compared to the other options on Van Nuys Blvd. but it definitely worth it. You get a big plate.

Kabab time is pretty good for this type of food. I have been coming here for years and I absolutely love their rice, kabobs, and the fact that they include grilled jalapenos with their orders. Gives the food a nice kick. The services is usually pretty speedy. I have only dined in once so they usually deliver my food. The staff is pretty friendly. There were maybe one or two times where I was disappointed with their beef. I usually order the beef soltani. Which includes a beef kabob, tender pieces of filet mignon, basmati rice, salad, a grilled jalapeño and tomato. I am typically very happy with this meal. However, there were one or two times over the years where the beef tasted a bit old. I ate it anyway because I was hungry but my stomach was very unhappy that day. This is only two times in a matter of 5 years that I can say I was not satisfied with my meal. Other than that food is amazing. Ordered from them again and I wanted to amend my review. They beef soltani was excellent. The filet mignon was so tender and perfectly seasonsed. Mouthwatering!

So, I’ve been getting my kabob fix from this place for a couple years now. Mostly order take out or delivery. Delivery has always been speedy and the service is great. One time while waiting for my take-out order, Albert(the owner) gave me lentil soup on the house. That was a nice gesture. It being the first place I’ve tried Mediterranean food, I was pretty impressed. I decided to try other places before putting in my review of Kabab Time and found out better offerings out there. I usually get the Lords Plate which comes with a skewer of barg and chicken thigh over basmati rice, grilled jalapeño & tomato, and a piece of pita bread to go with the side of hummus(you can subtitute for salad). The chicken thigh was good but a little dry and the barq somtimes lack seasoning. I’ve also had their shirazi salad which was pretty good and tried a falafel sandwich. Also good and big. Fast forward a little bit. I still get the same plate and I must say the quality of the meats has improved. Chicken thigh so tender, juicy and flavorful and the barg(filet mignon) so good. I had no qualms about recommending the place and I placed order for myself and co-workers at times. So why the low ratings? For the last six months I noticed they keep messing up my order. I keep getting a salad instead of the hummus I asked for. I’m sometimes disappointed when the hummus is not included since I look forward to that for my lunch. Then one day things turned for the worst. Not only was my hummus missing again, the rice was«different». Oh it looks the same and all but gone is that aromatic smell of freshly cooked basmati rice. What sits in front of me smelled like day-old, stale, bottom-of-the-pot re-cooked, spoiled rice. I turned over the rice and smelled it again and has that slightly burnt rice smell. I ate it anyway. I was hungry. Mistake! It gave me the runs… I stopped ordering from them for a while and yesterday I decided to give them another try and chance. The woman who took my order recognized my delivery location and addressed me by my first name. She also noted that I haven’t ordered from them in a while. I should have said something about it but I didn’t. It wasn’t on my mind. Delivery comes. First thing out of the delivery driver was that she thinks they forgot to put the hummus with my order… are you kidding me??? She did ask if that was ok and I just mumbled«yeah, sure…» and paid the total + tips. Kabab time… you’re chance of redeeming yourself is not going well… I sat down to eat my meal and first thing that wafted through my nostril was that same stale smell from the basmati rice. At this point I was like, are you serious??? Anyway, I was so hungry so I decided to eat a quarter of the rice and chance it. Sure enough, it gave me the runs again… I had also ordered extra chicken thigh plate to take home with me but decided that it did not belong in mine or anybody’s tummy and threw it in the thrash. So, Kabab Time… what’s going on? Quality Control down the drain perhaps? After this incident I can say that you’ve lost me as a customer permanently…

I would describe the food as a somewhat decent substitute for Zankou. Not as tasty, but decent.

WOW! I am a big fan of falafel… and Kabab Time has the absolute BEST falafel I’ve ever eaten in my life! I don’t know how they do it, but each chickpea nugget of goodness is infused with SO much flavor and the perfect amount of spiciness that I think the owners have discovered a brand new spice that they are keeping all to themselves! Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, I have to admit that I have never actually been inside or even in the vicinity of this place(I’ve had it delivered to work a couple of times), so I have no idea what the service is like or what the restaurants ambiance is like… but I DO know that the food is delicious! I’ve ordered the Veggie Plate each time I’ve had Kabab Time(only because It’s the only Veggie item on the menu) and each time I have been both shocked and amazed at the amount of food I’ve gotten(I’m uploading a picture for your drooling pleasure!). For $ 6.95 the Veggie Plate comes with salad, hummus, a veggie kabab, rice, 4 falafels and a pita. And it’s all YUMMY! Despite the fact I’ve only had the veggie plate, my co-workers have assured me that their beef and chicken kabobs are amazing as well. However, they are a bit pricey, about $ 15 for chicken and beef kabobs with rice and hummus or salad. So, if you are a falafel lover be sure to check out Kabab Time… and then write a review here on Unilocal describing the service etc so that I know whether I should drive my lazy butt over there! Enjoy!

I am giving this place only 3 stars because of the fact that I ordered for delivery and was charged a delivery fee even though I’m on the cusp(I mapquested it and it was 3.07 miles from me). On top of that, they charged me $ 5 instead of the posted $ 3 they have on the flier. I called to inquire about it, and she said it’s because of increasing gas prices! At least warn the customers before they place their order over the phone. Another thing, the lady gave me an estimated delivery time of 20 – 25 minutes but it took actually 45 minutes. Oh well… …the food was freakin’ good though! Next time, I’ll probably drive down there myself to pick it up.
