Bad service. And the A/c is broken on the hottest day of the week. They don’t tell you before you order. Until you ask them why is it so hot. Dirty floors. Use to come here years ago. And it wasn’t like this before.

This is my favorite Sizzler! I’ve been coming here for years. First let’s talk about the food… I order the ultimate platter. It’s a steak and half a dozen shrimp. This is the only Sizzler that cooks my medium rare steak correctly. My favorite side is the rice pilaf. It’s soft with the right amount of green onions to accompany it. The salad bar is always on tip top shape. The fruit is always fresh, the carnitas are delish, and the fajitas are so good. Oh! My favorite thing of the salad bar is their corn nuggets!!! They are the only Sizzler that has them! The restaurant is always clean. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Alan is great! If you have a question about anything he’s the one to speak to. I recommend this Sizzler to all my friends and family.

I hate to leave bad reviews but with that being said, I can’t leave a good one as much as I try… I used to come to this Sizzler growing up and after so many years decided to come back and have lunch with my dad. I went up to order and the lady taking my order wasn’t polite at all, she had no people skills & kept cutting me off as I tried asking questions. The waiter that was helping us took 10 min to drop off plates for the salad bar & he literally didn’t speak to us one bit. After dropping off our meal he never came back to check on us which wasn’t very cool. The food itself was horrible. I ordered baby back ribs with mashed potatoes and the mashed potatoes looked like they had been sitting there for days, the ribs were just fat barely any meat and I’ve had a stomach ache all day from it. I don’t plan on ever going back to this place which sucks because I had such great memories of it but now I just think of how gross it was and that’s it.

The salad bar actually has tons of offerings. I might actually rethink my craving the next time I’m considering soup plantation

I have no idea why this place has three stars! I went during lunch time and it was the best decision I have ever made. The steak was super juicy/tender and the shrimps were crispy on the outside, but perfectly cook in the inside. My order also came with a baked potato and it was like heaven, so creamy and soft! Every bite was so damn good and the plates were full! I had the lunch special w/a salad bar. The total came out to be around 32 bucks for two(not bad at all for a lot of food)! Also our waiter was very attentive. Lastly, they also carry wine and beer if you would like. I will definitely come back again!

Came here for a quick dinner and I know sizzler is not what they used to be but I did at least expect good service… The service here was not good at all most of the things I needed were no brained like napkins bread extra salad bar plates. These are all small things that require little to Kano effort. it’s like school you start off with an A do the basics get a C this place is actually in the D– range because the basic were not done and the food was still below par…

This place has just gotten bad over the years. If you look at the menu when you walk in, you will see that they are not selling their food for any kind of reasonable prices. It was $ 7.99 for a long time, then $ 9.99, and now it’s now $ 12.99 for the salad bar *only* and their selection on the salad bar is *still* like one-fifth of what it is at Souplantation and other competing buffets and a good portion of that is dessert items. They no longer have the vegetable soup — the offerings include clam chowder, chicken noodle(staple Sizzler soups for a couple decades now) and… menudo! Why would they have MENUDO at Sizzler?! Probably because it’s Van Nuys Mexican territory. I looked inside the soup pot and it looked really gross. Ok fine, I can overlook that. But it was just over $ 32 for two of us to eat lunch, including an iced tea which we shared between us(free refills). NOT worth that pricetag though, by a longshot. We go to Souplantation a few times a year and, with coupons, it’s always about $ 17 for two people to have lunch there, or right about $ 21 for dinner. I seriously doubt I will go back to Sizzler again. If we’d each had one of their entrees in addition to the salad bar, it would’ve been $ 60. That’s far too high for a place like Sizzler where you place the order and pay at the counter! The waitress who brought new plates and bread was nice and we tipped her at the end, but the manager at the counter was an old grump who just seemed anxious to take everyone’s money. The buffet at this Sizzler is the smallest and most cramped of any I have ever been to. They have a huge parking lot though, and it’s never full, so perhaps they could do a remodel and expand. The one down in NoHo on Laurel Canyon and the one on Van Nuys Blvd. are much bigger and more spacious. This one on Sherman Way has the feeling of a diner. A diner with really high prices. Is anything other than the salad bar even fresh?! The last time I went, my friend ordered the steak and shrimp and I tried it. The shrimp tasted straight out of the freezer bag, microwaved, and the steak was no great cut of meat, that’s for sure. Side note: restrooms were really yucky, reflecting the semi-ghetto neighborhood. Go up to Souplantation in Porter Ranch, I think that’s the closest one to this area. You will be glad you did, and will not feel ripped off.

I can only speak for this Sherman Way location because I have never eaten at any other Sizzler and won’t be because of our first dinner here. I ordered the Malibu Chicken that I wish I had taken a picture of. The chicken was patties that were literally perfectly round and came right out of a box in the back. The ham and cheese on top of it also looked like they just used some generic sandwich ham and cheese. My Wife ordered some shrimp and knew immediately it was a mistake when it hit our table. Yuck. I do partly blame the location. This restaurant is in a crappy area with a Food4Less up the street. That might be where they bought the shrimp. Maybe other Sizzler’s are better, but I’ll never find out.

This was by far the worst Sizzler I have been to. The restaurant was dirty, the salad bar looked like it was leftover from the day before, the strawberry lemonade my fiancé ordered was terrible, the cheese bread was only half covered in cheese, there were no ice cream dishes, and the food quite frankly wasn’t very good. Sizzler was a staple of our household growing up. We would go several times a month. When most of the local ones closed, we stopped going but maybe once a year. It was really disappointing to see a restaurant with so many great childhood memories for me look like such a run down pitiful place. I hope we caught them on an off night and they are really much better than that. Considering the price for the two of us, I expected a much better meal. Don’t think we will be returning to this Sizzler.

I will never come here again. I had ordered food and couldn’t finish it I asked for a box… they bought me little boxes where I couldn’t even put my ribs in… they said sorry these are the only ones we give for people that eat inside and I asked him you don’t have big box they said only for to go orders… very rude of them they got me for foils to wrap up my ribs and they only limited the bags it was just so unacceptable… Never again will I come here

I’ve been coming to this Sizzler location for over 40 years. Today Mom and I decided to drop by for lunch. We were greeted by a very friendly gentleman who took our order. After we sat down Ana Maria who is often our waitress came over and greeted us and chatted with us for awhile and seemed genuinely happy to see us. Mom ordered the senior shrimp plate which came with a large side salad, and baked potato. Mom enjoyed this meal but the salad was so large I had to eat some of it for her. Pork riblets are the current promotion so I ordered the«Mountain of Riblets» featuring 5 riblets and fries served in a basket with a tiny serving of coleslaw. The riblets were meaty and tasty if messy. The meat is smothered in sweet bar b q sauce. Ana Maria was attentive and cleared our plates immediately and kept my ice tea full.

Came with the family and as we were eating there was a cockroach on the back of my seat. Lost my appetite after seeing that. Since it was two parties we only got one reimbursement. And we had lost the other receipt so we couldn’t get our money back. This place has been my favorite since I was little. Now I’m not sure when I’ll be back. It will be quite a while since I’m back.

I’ve had better looking and tasting food at a cafeteria. The food came out as soon as we sat down and wasn’t even hot. How long had it been sitting there? The salad bad was decent. No one ever came to refill our drink orders. For the price we could have eaten someplace much nicer with palatable food. It’s been years since I’ve been to a Sizzler and this was probably my last time.

Sizzlers has come a long way from when I worked there as a college student. Waiter now comes to the table to confirm your order and is becoming more of a service restaurant with the exception of order, pay first, and self carry tray. The menu is prety much the same but still good. Salad bar has expanded with the addition of hot food. Now to the review of this particular location. This is my second time visiting. My first visit here was very good. Food and service was great. Most people know me to be a pretty patient individual with very little to complain about. I’m pretty good about not getting upset by things. However, tonight my experience began with what felt like antagonism. The manager was taking my family’s order. He seemed annoyed as my husband place our order. He did not greet us and did not smile. My husband place his moms order and his sons order. I stepped back to look at the menu for my item and that seeked to bother him. My husband had a question about the wine and changed his mind to a beer. The manager apparently punched in the wine, had to remove it, and add the beer. He then walked away without saying anything and told another host to finish our order(loud enough for us to hear). The other male host was very helpful. He finished our order even recapped our order at my husband’s request because he did not feel confident in the manager’s abilities. Indeed the manager got some of our order incorrect. Our waiter John was excellent! He started us off with a plate full of cheese toast. He served our orders correctly, made sure we had fresh plates and full beverages. 5 stars for John! As much as I would like to give a higher star rating for the restaurant, the manager left me with a bitter taste. As a manager, you are the face of the restaurant. The hosts and table servers were more genuine and polite. Perhaps one of them should be promoted to be the manager of the restaurant and the manager take a lesson from his employee’s customer service.

This Sizzler was not that bad and I remember coming here with my parents when I was a kid. I had the 6oz steak medium rare with unlimited shrimp. The food was mediocre but for the prices it’s not all that bad. The salad bar actually looked decent, clean and even had fresh fruit. The only thing that worried me about my experience tonight was as soon as we sat down, our waiter came over with our food which was very strange.

Oh my lord where do I begin? About a month ago I was invited by friends to another Sizzler location on Van Nuys for dinner. It has been ages since I went to Sizzler and to be honest, I thought they already went out of business. Long story short, the food at the Van Nuys location was not really bad and I have to say I really enjoyed the Clam Chowder which was a big hit. This Clam chowder would be a reason to go back, not the rest of the food. Today, I decided to go to Sizzler on Sherman way, Balboa Lake. I was craving that Clam Chowder I even called and asked if they are serving it. So, when I arrived to this location, I noticed they have 14 oz Rib Eye marbled steak for $ 16.99, Sounded real good and I went ahead and ordered it with the salad bar so I can have my Chowder. After all, the chowder was the reason for me coming here, right? I was seated, made my first trip to the bar for the Clam Chowder and a plate of imitation crab salad, peas and bacon. Then my Steak arrived and Let me tell you about the food: CLAMCHOWDER: This was not good at all. It was not as thick as I have experienced at the other location and I want to swear there was no clams at all, and if there was, then I needed a microscope to see them but at the same time my tongue was telling me «Boss, no clams, all diced potatoes!» ZEROSTAR! CRABSALAD: This was by far the best thing out of this whole meal. Not great but OK. 3 Stars RIBEYESTEAK: Oh what a disappointment. Why in the heck I would even eat steak at place like this? 14 ounces steak that had almost 10 ounces of grizzle and tough fat and muscles. I took one bite and I asked the waiter to take a look at it… He shook his head in disbelief, then went to the kitchen to get me another one. The other piece of steak arrived. It looked much better than the returned one but still plenty of tough pieces that are hard to chew with all the muscles. The flavors where also not there at all. ZERO star. CILANTRORICEWITHLIME&CHEESETOAST: The rice was cold, tasteless and same goes to the cheese toast. ZERO star SERVICE: The waiter was very attentive filling my drink, bringing me extra dishes which I did not use. He was happy to bring me another steak order without any problem. He was good. 4 Stars I am sure some people love Sizzler, but for me, today is the day we depart on our own separate ways.

People watch out! This place is not sanitary. For a odd reason For the past couple of times I got tiny black hairs on my chicken and shrimp plate. I complain to the«owner» because he was there at the time(Sunday), but in return he scream at me and accuse me of doing it. This place is gross. Tengan cuidado de este Lugar. Los cosineros le ponen pelos a la comida y no se lavan las manos. El dueño es rudo.

I went out with my family tonight and John was our server. I have to say that guy was amazing and he has the best customer service ever! We didn’t have to ask for anything. He was just Johnny on the spot with everything! I hope I get him every time we go there! He made our dinner experience!

I haven’t been to a Sizzler in YEARS. I tried the Grilled Shrimp Skewers and it was good. The best thing at Sizzler is their cheese toast. If I can come back for just one thing, it would be for that. They must sprinkle crack on it, because it’s so good.

I came here for lunch. For some reason I wanted a salad with my meal. OK so lets try this location. The interior of this location is old, and not a fan of carpet. The booths had holes in them covered with duck tape. The exterior of this Restaurant is very nicely maintained. However you don’t eat outside. Ordered a steak and baked potato with the salad bar. First they put the chivies and butter in little black cups, and put them next to your food that your going to eat. No presentation on their dishes. The Salad bar looked Presentable, however they had just opened. Restroom was clean during my visit.
