I am not a fan of Mexican food usually. Ok, the margaritas at a great Mexican joint the name of which I’ve forgotten on a canal in Amsterdam. But today I thoroughly enjoyed the friendly staff and the great food here. I took the daily special for $ 7.99: a huge platter of delicious lightly spiced shrimp in veggies and mushroom with fresh salsa, refried beans and rice, all of which was super tasty. Ate everything along with gratis tortilla chips and yummy homemade salsa. A Pacifico Clara beer was enjoyed. And fresh corn tortillas – 4. Had great flan with whipped cream for dessert. A friendly, warm place. I’ll go back.

I thought the food here was good, reasonably priced, and the service was friendly. My only knock was that my wife had the pollo asado and it was definitely overcooked, though it tasted good.

Cucarachas !! Dont ever go there or if you already went dont ever go back!! First of all i am from Mexico and knowing the real mexican food this is not even close, i was there with my wife on a date and definitely the food was not good at all, and the music was so loud it was even uncomfortable because we couldnt even hear ourselves, and yes its a Mexican restaurant but if you are trying to make it as a family restaurant you need to put better songs than the ones they play, it was all corridos and when i got up and asked if they could please turn it down they got all upset and were talking to eachother with the cook! And just to end it, we were finishing our drinks and yeap there it was !!! A Cucaracha!!! Yes a cucaracha was passing by on our table! It was so gross it even made us feel like we were eating it! We told the server and she just evated the statement and charged us for the food, Maybe they already killed it, or maybe not but, be carefull next time you go maybe the meat you are eating might be crunchy because of the special ingredient ! Im all honest and this was a real thing im not kidding at all and well at the end is up to you to risk your health by going there.

Do not eat here! We got really sick after eating here. And they also charged us $ 4 more than we should have been. We had a variety of things on the menu, and most of what we had seemed to be covered in an acidic tomato-based sauce. It lacked flavor and it got cold really fast. We really wanted to like it, but after spending the last day with stomach problems and being overcharged, we won’t be going back.

I wanted to love it for it is so close to my home… but I don’t. I had 2 fish tacos, a small side of refried beans, and 2 beers. $ 17 dollars, plus money for a tip over $ 20 for a place that doesn’t offer much for atmosphere(that’s being generous) and is in a marginal neighborhood. The tacos were just on small corn tortillas, the tilapia was grilled but lacked flavor and came with only lettuce and a small amount of tomatoes. Seriously lacked flavor! The refried beans where yummy! But I thought my pretty boring meal in a was pretty expensive. I did get free chips and salsa.

Delicious chicken fajitas, in tortillas hot off the grill. The just-made guacamole was great too, though quite salty. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Poor food, poor value. I went here looking for good tamales. I got a tamale/enchilada combo plate. The tamale was so dry and overcooked I could hardly cut it with fork and knife. The enchilada was tiny and was obviously cooked in one sauce, and had another luke warm sauce put on afterwards. The sauces were not only obviously different temperatures, but also different flavors. Interesting. The server was nice, but only checked back once. The floor and tables were clean but the ceiling vents looked gross. I had good hopes, but I don’t think I’ll be back.

The food is basic Americanized Mexican fare. It is good for what it is, but I think Los Pepes in East Vancouver is more flavorful, and they don’t load thier beans with lard like this place does. The family that works here is very friendly, so there is that. The prices are where I choke. For four of us to eat one meal plate each and have a typical soda, we walked out of there for over $ 60 with tip. When a full quarter of the oversized plate is a thin spread of lard beans and another quarter is basic tomato flavored rice, the cost of the food is hard to swallow. We did not try the cart out front. From what I’ve read, this is where the better deals are. For twenty dollars less, we will keep returning to Los Pepes.

This is one of the many ethnic restaurants existing on the Fourth Plain corridor here in the ‘Couv. ***This is a review of ‘Tacos al Pastor’: their taco stand outside the Four Caminos restaurant which they also run*** Cheap, awesome tacos! A friend told me they were ‘Mexico City’ style. Not sure what that means, but they are good. I particularly enjoyed the Carne Asada version: lean, peppery, perfectly spiced. They are also way cheap. They have more adventurous ones too(tripe, tongue, etc.), but I’m a midwest boy — straight beef for me, please! It’s in a complex with all Latino businesses(butcher, salon, the restaurant, convenience mart). Honestly, the restaurant itself is Mexican-by-the-book(underwhelming shredded chicken, lots of beans, lots of rice), but their food cart outside is worth checkin’ out.

Okay, so I’ve only been there once. But it was sooo delicious. I had Arros con Pollo and my boyfriend said they were the best Taquitos he ever had. Nice people working there too.
