This place is great. The bartenders are so friendly and quick to get your orders. I had a Reuben here and it was incredible. I love the live music they do. There is an Irish group that performs and wow they are good. Not the biggest fan of karaōke but thankfully that didn’t happen often.

Love this place! The staff is friendly, good selection of beer, the food is good. It’s definitely a neighborhood bar, nothing fancy. They have special deals all week and usually have music on the weekends. It’s a nice place to hang out with friends, new and old.

My first thought was, «how could anybody rate this only three stars?!?» …then I saw the menu. I suppose It isn’t THAT pricey, but it also isn’t one of those Happy Hour(Almost) All Day joints. The décor is perhaps classic/Northwest-Tavern(but excellent condition) although the first $ 5.7510-oz margarita could have been a bit stronger…(for only 75¢ more you can get«100 Años») The menu is full of choices and they even have Juliano’s Pizzeria 12″ pizzas«Made Fresh For Us» until 12:45AM! With 18 brews on tap and a full bar with regular live music you almost can’t miss! I think I could enjoy this tavern on a regular basis. Alas, it’s a bit far from home, the bus transfers(Über fare) would get my gruff and unless that Christmas Bonus /New Year raise comes through my pocketbook just can’t handle it. More fun for everyone else though!

I’ll leave this short and sweet. Best patio in Vancouver. Fire pit and covered seating outside. Strong drinks, good pool tables, decent deals on food. This is a bar in every sense of the word. It’s old school. Warm. Has live music. Has a solid staff. This place is good.

If you are looking for good food and service this is the place. Don’t forget its s bar first. Divey. Dark. Dank. We have been coming here for a few years now and have never had bad service or drinks. On Sundays Casey serves a delish bloody mary. Its what a dive bar should be. We love it here.

I’ve passed this place many times on my way to the Chinese grocery next door. It always looked like a drab, uninteresting bar. But, one day I was on a search for a decent burger and beer somewhere in the Couve, so I decided to give this place a try and it was surprisingly good! It was definitely divey, but the interior is much nicer than the outside with pool tables and a dj booth. They have karaōke Sun — Wed and bands Thu — Sat with ladies night on Wed. I was there on a Tuesday, so there were a few people singing(very loud) karaōke. The beer selection was ok; we got a Boneyard RPM, a Shadow Ninja, and a Ninkasi IPA. For food, we got a burger and a Reuben. The Reuben was pretty good and the burger, while ordered medium, came back more of a medium-well, but it was charred properly(not the burnt or grey puck I have seen in so many other bars). It was a better burger than most bars I’ve been to in the Portland-Vancouver region. Although I did feel a tad out of place on a Tuesday, I will probably be back if I need a burger and a beer.

It’s a great place to hang out with your friends they have pool tables a nice outside smoking patio with fire pit. They usually always have something going on weather is Nike night on Thursdays with a live band or car shows on Tuesdays. There’s usually a live band. The drinks are good and so are the people that work there! Totally casual place to go.

Awesome food! Decent atmosphere! Service is a little slow, specially if your not a regular. Regulars seem to get served first.

It was definitely a dive bar. It wasn’t bad though, the service was a little slow but not bad. They had a live cover band that was awesome! Also, pool, pin ball and a fire pit outside which was cozy. We got the mozzarella sticks, which were tasty. I got the pulled pork sandwich, which was so hot after 7 mins of being at the table that I burnt my tongue! Ouch! My boyfriend got the burger and said it was delicious. Also the fries were great. Will definitely Return for the music, fries and mozzarella sticks :)

I’ve been here several times to watch my buddy’s band and every time the bar service has been dog slow, there’s usually 2 bar maids/servers on the floor during busy time and they’re pretty friendly but their efforts to serve the masses are usually hampered by the bar itself as it seems they can’t handle a packed house, otherwise its a cool little hole in the wall

There isn’t much in the way of a dive bar community in Vancouver but this is a tried and true. The staff is very friendly and occasionally they have bands that come to town that are worth watching. They make a mean grilled cheese sandwich just like I wish my Mom had made me. Prices for drinks and food are reasonable and they have Julianos Pizza which is a plus although I haven’t personally ordered it *while* at the Cascade. They have nice pool tables but they host leagues often so if you’re going after work don’t be surprised if you get booted off the tables. The few serious pool players I met are a bit uppity for a modest establishment but I get taking pool seriously; i just think they could be a little nicer. They never seem to have the jukebox on but it’s not one of the modern video screen kind — era before. I would imagine it leans towards rock and country but I haven’t checked it out. Nice place to go after work for a drink and a bite.

Lack of pretention here. Good pool tables, good juke box. Drinks are ordinary bar fare, just fine, nothing wrong with them. Friendly, observant bartender always. Above average to very good venue for live blues music. Sometimes the accoustics are a little fuzzy, but it’s a bar, not the Schnitz. On a scale from 1 to 10, with great accoustics at 10, Cascade levels in at a 7.5. The clientele: regular calm people who are uncritical of the strangely different. Zappa-friendly but rooted in good old bar dive mentality. Clean enough joint, not dirty. Comfortable. The bar food is fresh and crispy, just what you’d expect, no uppity adventures in culinary genius here. Blues music rules here.

I came here on a Thursday night for my 21st bday and I had a great time. There was a live band playing, and the bartender was nice. I was able to get a free bday drink from them too. This may not be an accurate measurement of their service considering that all we ordered was drinks and we arrived after midnight. However the bartender was super patient in helping me pick out a drink that I wanted for my first official drink at the bar haha We had a great time and the place was decently filled for only being a Thursday night. Price is also fair/cheap.

I went there for Bike Night on Thursday. At 6 the band was just setting up. I ordered a bottle of beer, it was warm. Ordered a second bottle of beer, warm again. Ordered a draft, much better. Fix your cooler man. The place is kind of trashy with all the cheesy beer delivery guy swag, banners mirrors etc. Good music, friendly staff, but warm beer sucks.

The Mike Branch band was great. The dance floor was packed. Unfortunately they didn’t seem to be prepared for a crowd. by 9 pm they had run out of dead guy clam chowder and the waitress was rude. We had to ask her several times to be served and she complained that she could only do one thing at a time and we were bitching too much. And then came the bill. Everyone had something wrong with their ticket. So go for the music don’t expect food and if you want to drink sit at the bar. Be prepared to pay a cover charge.

Pretty good sports bar, needs more screens. Great music can be heard here on occasion. Thursdays jam night is usually fun .Pool tables. I really like Michelle the bartender, She adds 1 star by herself. Its my closest bar which helps the rating
