I personally like the food at McMenamins that’s why I came back here a couple of times but still each time it took about 20 minutes for somebody to come up and great us and get started. After that it would take about minimum of 30 minutes to get the food. On top of that I ordered a hamburger and asked for it to be well done but when I got it half of it was still pink inside… Either you have to hire more new employees or have someone higher come in give all your employees some good training

Waited at the«please wait to be seated» sign tonight at 7:00 pm for 5 minutes. A woman breezed by and said she’d be back, but never returned. Meanwhile, a man seated himself at the table we were hoping for. Both our party and the party behind us gave up and left. It was crowded outside, but half empty inside. And, the temperature was freezing inside. I’ve eaten here in the past. The food is ok, but the service is inconsistent. I won’t be back

Horrible service. Everything takes forever. We waited 30 min for a sandwhich and it came out wrong. Everything we asked for was ignored. Dirty dishes on tables. Not once did our server grab an empty plate. Maybe they have a designated busser but whats the point if he clearly sucks at it. I just don’t understand how a manager can be on duty and have all of these mistakes happen.

Love McMenamins they all offer simular menus and in house beers. get a burger and some Cajun tots, wash it down with a RUBY beer. if u like the place ask to buy a passport. every restaurant and location has a place for a stamp, fill it out and get free gifts/prizes. some just give u a stamp some offer a little puzzle to figure out. great peaceful(hippie) atmoshpere. there all unique and simular in there own ways. I recommend them all.

Got the Steak & Frites, it was supposed to come with truffle fries and wiskey bacon butter. The steak was ordered medium well, the plate came out with tator-tots and cajun seasoning and a well done steak, no whiskey bacon butter could be discerned. I asked the waitress about the tater-tots and was informed they were out of fries and assumed that the tots were an acceptable replacement with out asking, she did offer to bring out the truffle seasoning. Which was just truffled salt. Rather dissatisfied… again. Will not be back.

I’ve been going to various McMenamins for years. I always love the burgers(communication break down is yummy but so is the dungeon and traditional), also love the tots, brewers salad and hummus as well… but…I always am disappointed in the service and how long it takes the food to come out. I always have to truly think about how much time I have before I decide to go here. However, last night I had the best experience at this location that I’ve ever had. Maybe the best experience ever, of anywhere, honestly. Our server Rachelle was incredibly efficient, friendly and informative, and our food came out in record time! If this is the new McMenamins, then we will be coming back more often!

As far as the strip mall type McMenamins go, this is my favorite location to date. Full disclosure though, I have only sat at the bar, so I have no comment on general seating at this location. The food is typical of the non-fancy locations, but I would have to say that the food seems to be better prepared. I have yet to have anything that was either over or under cooked and like a good boy, I have finished my meal before before contemplating desert. The staff at the bar have been attentive and friendly and even when busy, I have never felt that I had to wait a long time for food. I also like the fact that I have never had to ask for more water, it has always been refilled when running low. The happy hour is pretty decent as well. For 13 bucks after tax, I had Cajun tots, a slice of cheese pizza, and two beers. Not too shabby. Basically, if you are in East Vancouver and just want to grab a beer and something to munch on, this is a decent place to chill for a bit.

I am a McMenamin’s fan which is why I even gave this one a second chance. Both times I have been here the service and food have both been terrible. Hello McMenamin’s execs, please send someone to this location to train your staff! The food downright sucks and the servers are either way unattentive, or hovering. Also, they don’t know how to handle customer complaints. This location needs some serious help. Nice atmosphere though.

I love McMenamins but was slightly disappointed in this location. Had a very limited menu leaving you with options of mostly burgers or fried food. Ordered the taco appetizer and it was so poorly put together it made it impossible to eat do we picked it apart with a fork. Beer options were good though so I guess that’s a plus. Won’t frequent this location that’s for sure.

What keeps me coming back about McMenamins? Uuhhh hello have you been there before? It’s normally the delicious fresh squeezed beverages and the Cajun tots. What you have to know before you get there is that there will most likely be a wait. Your food will take basically forever and servers aren’t the most high class. BUT that is the joy of McMenamins. You go for the food and the joy of your group — not the joy of anyone else ;) This specific location is VERY busy, pretty slow with a handful of good servers that pull everyone else’s weight. Never the less we will continue to frequent because the tots and the drinks.

I absolutely love mcmenimans, it’s really hit or miss depending on which one. This place was beautiful of course and made us feel plenty welcome. I ordered a apple cider pear brandy, which wasn’t on the menu. It was missing the cinnamon but still tasty! Our stomaches were clearly doing all the talking when we orders half the happy hour menu but I was fully enjoying our large spread on the table. We ordered hummus plate, which didn’t come with olives like it stated(and I was thankful for that!), a burger, pretzel and tacos. I think the tacos were my least favorite, but it was all pretty tasty. You can’t really go wrong at this location.

We came here once and ordered the halibut fish and chips. I’ve never seen my husband return food ever but he did here. The oils were all over the bottom of the dish and the fries were soaked and drooping. Maybe it was an off day but we never returned

I heard about this chain from my brother’s friend. This is very popular in Northwest. I’ve been told each location has a different theme from pub, antique glasses, etc. I love their laid back feel and you can sit anywhere and this place gets busy during lunch. They serve RC Cola instead of Coke or Pepsi. The backyard burger and tater tots is delicious. I also love their organic ketchup. The staff are very nice. Too bad this chain is not in California.

McMenamins East Vancouver should be renamed McMenamins Least because it is by far the worst McMenamins I’ve been to so far. The strip mall vibe makes it average while the food was just terrible. I love lots of McMenamins, but this isn’t one of them … nope, not at all. As with all visits to a McMenamins, we started with beer. I should of stopped there. The McMenamins Ale Sampler allowed a taste of some of their best sellers plus a couple seasonal favorites. I moved onto Saison Amer Draft Farmhouse Ale once the pint rounds hit. My favorite McMenamins burger is a Wilbur’s Deluxe Burger with Fried Egg, Bacon, and Cheese. It’s hard to mess up bacon, cheese, and egg, but, you guessed it, they did. The burger patty was burnt charcoal crisp beef. It totally changed the taste and texture. Neither my wife nor I finished it. This was the worst burger I’ve had in years. Since it was happy hour, we moved on to some of the cheap eats. They were indeed cheap, but barely edible. Cajun Tots may of been the stars and they were just 3 stars. A Soft Pretzel was safe and filling while a slice of Cheese Pizza with sprinkles of Parmesan was just sad. Service was fine. The restaurant was slow, so, we never had a problem waving for more beer. In the end, we downed the last few drops of ale in agreement that this was McMenamins Fail.

This is one of those McMenamins in a strip mall and while they try and overcome the setting they just can’t though this one comes closer then most. The Menu is standard McMenamins as are the drinks. So burgers fries humus and company line of of alcohol. This branch is a lot busier then I thought it would be. The good: the service has been great every time I come, The cooks make McMenamins standard fare but somehow the burger was better then most(maybe I was hungrier? but it seemed better) Oh and I like the lamps… The bad, unless you are in the area… way out of the way for me but I needed the stamp! and it is in a strip mall… Summary: I’ve seldom seen a restaurant try harder then they do. Also It is in a strip mall but so is everything else in the area. If I lived close by I would come here more often.

A note on a brew called Hoppy Girl IPA. not sure if keg about to blow or? but was ok at first taste — good hoppy aroma, yet not to be paired with — well probably anything !! it was like«day after» beer — seriously, I’ve encountered this before –believe they call it, Budweiser? with a bit of a lemony punch. half way into a pint an I’m dive ! To the curb Hoppy Girl — hop on –
