Life can be filled with surprises and to find a local bake shop just up the street was a huge one. We moved from San Diego to Vancouver and are still getting use to the area. Fred’s House of the Rising Buns is a fresh out of the oven stop for good treats, breads, cakes and other baked goods. You might not notice the stop but it’s easy to get to. Not big but then again it doesn’t need a ton of room, just mixers, hot ovens and dedicated chefs. Each time I stop there I find a new treat and nothing bad. Priced very reasonable as well. Bakeries may seem small but in the big picture they have been a huge part of neighborhoods if not society for centuries.

My family loves this place! They have excellent sweets. Love their thumbprint cookies and sticky buns are wonderful. The wheat bread is pretty good too. It’s a nice family owned business, With friendly service and yummy treats.

I love this place! I love their scones and apple turnovers! They have really good bread and rolls too. I go at least 3 times a week. My husband who isn’t much of a sweet eater loves the blueberry scones because they are not too sweet. I tell everybody and anybody to check them out. You will not be disappointed. The staff is very nice too!

Love this place. Their garlic focaccia causes family fights. Nice folks.

My husband and I stopped by at 2:05pm on a Sunday and the bakery was still open. It was our first time in so we ordered a few different items to taste them: — cheese and jalapeño roll, pretty good — cinnamon roll, a bit hard and dry after sitting in the display case all day, but we nuked it for 10 seconds when we got home and it was good. — chocolate chip and almond scone, probably our favorite. Would have been better with coffee but we stopped by randomly in the afternoon and weren’t feeling it at the time. We are happy to know there is a nice bakery just a block or two away from our home. The person behind the counter at the time was very timid and not very welcoming, and the iPad screen was god awful dirty when handed over to us to sign. They serve espresso. We haven’t tried it yet but hope to sometime in the near future. They also have a Facebook page where you can get updates on what they have available

A really tasty family-run bakery in the Felida/Salmon Creek area! This is just what we’ve been needing! Really good baguette and cinnamon rolls. I’ll definitely be back.
