We went today for my wife’s birthday and we were so disappointed. We have been before a year ago and things were good. Tonight, the hot food was down, the salad island was very thin. The pizza offerings were few and did not change while we were there. The cinnamon rolls were the kind out of a can. The wait staff was not on the top of there game. I don’t know if this restaurant changed ownership but something has changed. Not a fan of buffets but this one was really bad.

It had been awhile since I had eaten at Izzy’s and we were in the area so. Yeah, bad idea. The salad bar has shrunk. It looks like they removed a whole section, where the fruits were. The greens were wilted, the dressing had a weird look to them, almost like they were spoiled(like when milk starts to get old you get little solid bits.) The pizza was not fresh and it was early in dinner time(6PM) it looked dried and tasted rubbery. Dessert area wasn’t any better. The«special items» you have to order and wait for last night was battered salmon bites and also steak. The steaks were very small, and mine was well done, but cooked to the point of complete dryness. My husband’s was med but overcooked. Both were flavorless. No salt or pepper or anything. The salmon bites… just gross. Overcooked and dry. As far as the place itself? The ladies’ room had a toilet that was either broken or overflowing, water all over the floor in that stall, creeping into the other, so my choice was to have my feet in toilet water as I pee, or stop at a AM/PM on my way home. I chose the latter. The carpet was old, the place dingy and uninviting. We won’t be back.

Eww. I knew I was in for a bad time, but a family member really wanted to try this place. Ew. Place is dingy and filthy. Food was horrible. And dried out. And looked like it had been sitting under heat lamps for hours & hours. Eww.

A solid 3 for a decent buffet for a really good price. The waitstaff were very attentive. The salad bad had good choice, the other buffet items were good, the steak was smallish but well cooked and seasoned and there was the choice to have more. We’ll be back.

First of all. If you manage to get through the stench. Walk your way around. The food is disgusting, unappealing. The atmosphere made me want to be in the Urgent Care. This was THEMOSTDISGUSTING restaurant I have ever been in my life. The staff was as polite and smart as a box of rocks.

I felt more like u was at a farmyard feed trough than a restaurant here. I liked the idea of Izzy’s a whole lot: salad bar, some random entre offerings in a buffet table, and a couple made-to-order specialties? Neat! Well… The idea is solid, but the execution is weak. Combine with that some of the absolute worst table service I have ever experienced, and we’ve got a new candidate for 2015’s DFL establishment.(DFL = dead friggin last). I am a fish eater. Your ‘made to order’ wmtre is either fish or steak(at least on this, my first and last visit). In my party of three, two of us ordered fish. One ordered steak. A full 40 minutes later, nothing had arrived, and we had not seen our waiter again. He finally rolls by, and when I call out to him he looks at me like I had called him a dirty name! A few minutes later, fish and steak arrived. I don’t know bout the steak… Not my jurisdiction. Here’s the fish though: two quarter-ounce(literally) pieces on a coffee saucer. One was too hot to consume. One was … Nearly room temp? It was also about 50% batter… As if they used one cod to feed a city. Anyway… I didn’t try any of their deserts.

Service was very bad, very unfriendly. Had to ask for help to get an order into the grill after we had been sitting here for quite a while. Food was disgusting. Not a great selection at all for the price. Salad bar was even very scarce. Steak sauce watered down. Very disappointed. Won’t be coming back here again.

All you can eat. Eat all you can! I’m a proponent of signing up for newsletters in the hope of getting free stuff. I was rewarded during my birthday month with all kinds of freebies including one free dinner at Izzys. Their pizza is tasty, and they typically have a fantastic selection for the salad bar. I don’t usually touch the other random hot food unless it comes directly from the kitchen to my table. The last time we were there, the salad bar left much to be desired, but that’s not standard for them. The kitchen items were steak and tacos. We each ordered a set of tacos. They all could have used a little something to make them that much better, but they were good enough as it was. The downfall of this place is the patrons. People make huge messes and bring their obnoxious children. There was a screaming large child — probably 6 – 7 — the entire time we were chowing down. Evidently he needed a nap or a swift kick. The service here is always on point. I commend the employees for keeping a level head through the madness!

I used to come here all the time as a wee little kid. Ive come here once or twice over the years, but since the Izzys off Mill Plain is no longer there. Meh– the place has gone down hill. I went in for dinner. Ok it was a little crowded, and the staff seemed overwhelmed, but it took them awhile to replinish the hot food especially the pizza. Not once did the waitress acknowledge us until we went up to the front to pay. Salad bar wasnt too bad. Dessert bar was bare to none. But ill probably eat here again at some point in the near future

I don’t know why I return to Izzy’s. When they first opened(early 90’s?), the buffet used to be pretty decent. I keep trying different locations, but apparently they are all kind of «just OK». The pizza, which you think would be the draw here, is just not terrific. They always put out small pizzas and it is fairly small the selection. I usually only eat a piece or two of this. The best thing on here now is the fried chicken and the salad bar. I probably give 2.5 stars for the chicken, fried potatoes and salad bar, but one star for the pizza. Rounded it out and gave them 2 stars.

Okay considering their flagship store on Mill Plain has been closed awhile this has been the go2 Couv location’. TERRIBLE! Although the staff is friendly the food is sooo waay under par it’s not even mediocre at best?! You’d presume that with the $$$ you pay not ONLY would the food be good(besides the salad bar. can’t really mess that up) but they’d offer a decent variety to choose from__Oooommggeeeness this place is turning into another TGIF’s(bad food, bad selection, bad services) and we all know how incredibly great they were.NOT.hence now gone! Do yourselves a favor and spend your $$$ somewhere else:-) **The pizza’s are NOTHING like they used to be known for, the beer batter fish has a coating soo thick and inedible I thought we were being served fish pancakes and the hot foods are soo passed there time I actually found myself standing in line just shaking my head*

For a buffet it’s pretty decent. I went there years ago it was gross. Finally after 8 or 9 years we tried it again. Food was pretty good. Not great but decent. Food was hot though. For 2 adults and 1 child it was 22.00 dollars. Staff was really nice and the place was clean. They also never let the food get low. But it was 1130 in the morning and a handful of people were there. I will return again if I have to meet someone and that’s what they want. But will not return on my own account.

I ended up here again after all my other options went kablooey. It is what it is. You spend 14 bucks and you get to shuffle through the buffet until you surrender. Everything’s fairly pedestrian in that mass– produced, buffet manner. Cornbread stuffing only. I passed on the potatoes; they looked too much like library paste to me. The sweet potato scones were nice. If there was cranberry sauce anywhere in that building, I never found it. My SIL found something in the salad bar that bore a vague resemblance but I’m too old to take those kind of risks. In the end, it did not actually suck but I would have to call this the booty-call of Thanksgiving dinners.

I feel like I was just ripped off of 28.00 tonight. Thought we would try the prime-rib You should be ashamed of butchering up a awesome piece of meat. The salad bar was not stocked well. The pizza bar was left with no pizza. The pine-apple upside down cake was gummy. The hubby was going to have some pasta with the Alfredo sauce. The pasta looked like it had been sitting there a long time. The sauce was getting a crusty top layer It use to be enjoyable at Izzy’s So much food. You are not the place to go anymore. $ 11.99 a person is robbing your customers. I would have gotten a better meal at a fast food and for less money.

Delicious salad bar, soups, somewhat small variety of pizza and other hot foods. Basically a smaller, cheaper version of Old Country Buffet. Definitely worth going during lunch(Mon — Sat 11am — 3:30pm) as they only charge $ 8 for access to the whole menu.

I’d never been to an Izzy’s before tonight. My family went because my son was given a certificate for a free meal by his elementary school. The place was crawling with children, toddlers to pre-teens, unattended. They were reaching for food with their hands, standing around the bars eating and no one was stopping them. I realize the staff can only do so much but it seemed par for the course. The salad bar was alright at best, probably the only food I should’ve eaten. The pizza was bad, most of it having obviously sat out for some time. I finally managed to get a fresh slice(patrons flock to any fresh offerings like piranha) but it wasn’t really worth the wait. The other hot food was old and dry or left mostly empty. I couldn’t help but notice food being brought out in buckets and scooped into their containers on the buffet. The desserts were a nightmare, the ice cream was gritty and the brownies tasted like anything but. The lava cake looks and tastes like what the brownies must resemble after digestion. There was also«steak» brought to the table but it didn’t resemble beef. I can’t review beyond that because I wasn’t brave enough to try it. The final straw was one of the staff, an older gentleman, following my son to the counter then without asking my permission, taking him to the vending machines to buy him tattoos. I’m still trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, that it was just an attempt to be nice, but you don’t just call a child away from his family and buy him things without asking. That’s going to alarm any parent. I’ve been to plenty of buffets but Izzy’s has been the worst experience I’ve ever had at one all the way around. The whole family agreed, we won’t be coming back.

S side of NE78th St just E of NE Highway 99 The high rating I’ve given this place is for my lunch buffet experience. I’ve never had their regular menu so I can’t really speak for that. I loved the varied selection of the items. All the food that was provided was prepared and remained the proper temperature when it came time to eat as well as kept all textures where they should have been. The place was kept super clean like Molly Maid was waiting in the shadows like a ninja! The place was nicely spread out and easy to navigate. The turnover of the food was nice… when anything got low a new batch was brought out to complement the original contents! The whole staff was really nice… like a good relative. They were filled with genuineness and kindness! They had bot regular tables and booths available to which the host was kind enough to ask which I preferred. Despite being fairly busy there was still plenty of parking spaces available in this large Strip Mall lot.

The atmosphere was fairly bland. No holiday decorations four days before Christmas. Although it seemed spacious and open. Fairly good variety of food. It seemed like they were limited in space, so there wasn’t a huge selection, but there was something from every cuisine. Even had about eight different types of pizza. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They are always asking if you need anything or taking orders for the grill. My four stars takes into account that this is a buffet. None of the average buffets have fantastic food. But of the buffets out there, I certainly like this one.

Well this place was better than i thought it would be. I saw some of the reviews and was a bit concerned prior to dining here. Just skimmed the reviews mostly. I came up to Vancouver to help move some stuff for my family up here and Izzies was close. They close at 9:30, we got there at 8:45. I expected everything to be all dried out and crusty. I was wrong. This is a small buffet. it is not a grand buffet at a casino. It is not Hometown Buffet.(Thank goodness or I would have been on the toilet all night.) This is a decent, small buffet with a great concept. 1. State how many in party and get seated. 2. Look over grill menu and order entrée. 3. Help self to buffet and drink. 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 as often as you like. Easy breazy. The salad bar was small. I was stoked they had chili and chowder that Friday. Skipped the chowder and dove int the chili. Sadly, no grated cheese on the buffet to top with. BUT– they had cheesy bread sticks, covered in melted mozzarella, like cheese pizza cut into sticks and lacking marinara. Soooo good dipped into chili. When they sat us, they asked what kind of pizza we wanted. My twin sister ordered a pizza with jalepenos and pineapple. One of the tastiest things I had ever had at a pizza buffet. They told us if we had any other pizza requests, they would do it. Items: Salad bar with usual veggies, mixed salads like pasta salad, crab salad, etc., Pizzas, mashed potatoes, gravy, sauteed veg, green beans, mac n cheese, marinara, pizza buffet, dessert bar and grill items. I got the steak. It was tiny. Like 4 bites. SO guess what I did? I ordered another one! To all the complainers out there, read the directions and stop complaining. Would you like if people complained your steak was too small? And didn’t go back for seconds? *****Despite the opinion of other Unilocalers, it is absolutely acceptable to tip when at a buffet. The server is clearing the table and making sure you have more room to eat. I suppose those other Unilocalers would like to sit at table full of dirty dishes and crusty forks? Perhaps that’s how they eat at home?
