My go to BBQ spot. Pretty darned good BBQ and sides, probably the best in Vancouver. One of the few places in the PNW serving RC Cola.

Jazzy Johns is exceptional BBQ here in Vancouver. They are not quite as good as our favorite restaurant in Portland for BBQ, but really good. The sides are excellent as are the brisket, chicken, and pork. The ribs are good, but not the best I’ve had. I recommend their sandwiches the most. The owner remembers everyone! If you want a taste of Texas they keep Shiner on hand. We went one night when they had a Jazz band and it was nice, not too loud, but pleasant for dinner. I think they could make the interior more inviting by getting more comfy chairs, etc, but they did the pseudo rustic style that’d be common in Austin. Top picks here; Spicy bbq sausage, brisket, chicken, pork, and all the sides. The kids really love this place!

Terrific BBQ! One of the few places I’ve found with burnt ends on the menu. The brisket has an excellent smoke ring and so does the pulled pork. Highly recommended the mac and cheese ad your side. This is definitely a hidden gem in Vancouver!

Delicious, quick, tasteful BBQ. Though they had an assortment of sauces, little to none was needed. Will definitely be back when in the area.

Tried the sliders, chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. All were delicious. The atmosphere is nice and plays enjoyable jazz music. I recommend this place for a relaxing lunch or dinner.

My first clue should have been when I walked in at 5:30 on a Friday night and the place was empty. I called out three times because no one was in the restaurant. Apparently the staff was outside having a «shift change» meeting. The brisket: cut too thick… and not much flavor. It did have a nice smoke ring. The ribs: very disappointed in them. Not much flavor… but again a nice smoke ring. Smoked potatoes: looked and tasted like they were done in a pressure cooker. Never tasted smokey flavor. Cole slaw: So so Price of meal: $ 45 Value of meal: the only value is in the fact that we were hungry, and now we aren’t. What an underwhelming meal. Definitely will not return.

Goldie’s, Famous Dave’s or Jazzy John’s? Hands down, no close comparison: Jazzy John’s. The meat is perfectly smoked & cooked and doesn’t need any sauce, but in case you want it, you can choose your own taste preference: regular, KC, Texas, Carolina, Hawaiian and even spicy, all while listening to some relaxing Jazz music. This was perfect for the hubby and I as we have very different tastes, but we could both agree that this was excellent BBQ. With 6 beers on tap to choose from and a nice assortment of food choices(including an incredible smoked Bologna and hot links), you’ll leave full and happy and ready to return.

We had lunch here and I got the pulled pork sandwich, beans, Mac n cheese and cornbread. The flavors were great and they had a good selection of sauces to put on your food. I would come back to this place again if I was in the area(live in Tacoma) and craving BBQ!

I have dined in twice and once ordered takeout for a party of 7. Every time I encountered friendly and quick service in a clean place. They serve very good BBQ and fixings. Try their Burnt Ends Brisket, excellent! I’m glad they’re in the area, makes this old Texan think of Elgin, Taylor, Austin BBQ. JJ’S serves up some fine fare and is a whole lot closer.

Not really a BBQ fan. Husband wanted ribs. The price of $ 15 for 6 ribs was over the top for lunch. Had a brisket sandwich. Was okay. Silverware was dirty and had to search trough for clean ones. No atmosphere. Won’t return.

The food is pretty good(The Firebird is a great sandwich, meat quality was tender and well spiced), but don’t come in on your lunch break. A sandwich and bbq lunch entrée took them 30 minutes to get to us. They had three guys behind the counter and 5 tables waiting for food. One guy was making the food while the other two stood around and stared blankly. So! If you’re not hangry and/or time constricted, good place to eat.

We dropped by here while passing through and I now wish this was closer to my house! For a little hole in the wall, this place is pretty amazing. I tried the ribs and brisket. Both were very good as well as their bakes beans. The service was great too — everyone there was so helpful.

My date and I chose 2 different plates, so we could try different things. I got the brisket, and he got the burnt ends. The brisket was decent, but slightly dry. The burnt ends were fantastic! I chose 2 different kinds of sauces to try — the Texas and the Kansas City. The Kansas City barbecue sauce was on point. I didn’t care for the Texas — it had an under tone of cinnamon or nutmeg or something — maybe allspice. It wasn’t for me. I wasn’t impressed with the sides. The beans were very sweet, and I prefer savory. And the mac & cheese tasted like the sauce that comes with Velveeta shells & cheese, although it was elbow macaroni. I tried coleslaw for the first time — I liked it a lot! Carrots and cabbage with a vinegar-based sauce and pepper. My date liked it a lot, as well. The sweet tea was very sweet, but I cut it with some lemonade, and it was good. The atmosphere was extremely bland — it’s in a strip mall. I was very happy, though, when I walked in and was immediately hit with the aroma of the smoking they were doing. I’ll be back — I want to try the pulled pork, some different sauces, and maybe try the cornbread and some other side next time.

Had lunch here with a friend a couple months ago… midday on a Tuesday, and it wasnt overly crowded. The food was cooked as it would be expected at a BBQ place, very much like the BBQ I receive when in Texas. Yay! The cornbread is awesome, and the pulled pork was fabulous. Service was friendly, and nice. Pricing was within reason, and the atmosphere is very casual. No need to get dressed up when coming in here, your jeans and hoody are just fine!

We had a great lunch here today! Got a combo number 1 which included brisket, pulled pork, ribs two sides and Texas toast. The brisket was sliced and asked for it lean and it absolutely was! Pulled pork was fantastic as well. The ribs were very dry and disappointing. This was why they didn’t get 5 stars. When he asked me if I wanted to substitue hot links instead of the ribs that should have been my first clue. Collard greens and bbq beans were great! I have been here a few times and have had mixed results. This was easily the best meal I have had at this place. Keep up the good work and I will be a regular. Also love the variety of different sauces. My son had the pulled chicken sliders and the meat was very moist and smoky.

Quality bbq, reasonable price, friendly people. Have tried half the items on the menu, can and do recommend to all who are barbecue fans. #1– the collards #2– the burnt ends #3– the sandwiches they do it right– the only reason they didn’t get that elusive 5-star, they opened late as they were prepping for a catering client…

The first time I was here I had the Chicken Ranch sandwich and didn’t care for it. However; this time I had the burnt ends and corn bread and have found my all time favorite of forever!

A couple weekends ago, the panda was in a carnivorous mood and hadn’t had BBQ in a while. Had to quickly fix that! You’re immediately hit with the BBQ experience upon entering. Win. For sandwiches, the Okie Reuben(sliced brisket, cheese, cole slaw, and 1000 Island on Texas Toast) is the most popular. I simply couldn’t pass up a dinner special on Burnt Ends. With KC sauce, no less. And yup, there was a spicy KC-style sauce as well. Did I mention it came with two sides and Texas toast? Sold. Delicious burnt ends here, some pieces more tender than others. The spicy KC sauce had noticeable chile pepper heat in it, but not too overpowering. I got cole slaw and BBQ baked beans for my sides. Sweet and smoky baked beans were a huge hit. The slaw had a dash of pepper on top that pleased this panda. For under $ 11, I got a decent amount of food that could satisfy one real hungry person, and probably could feed a couple of people that just want to get the BBQ experience. Good service here and a solid BBQ spot.
