Stopped in for my hubby’s birthday and decided on the Banana cake. This is a delicious cake, very moist like banana bread like cake with Bavarian Crème filling and fresh bananas. The extra light and airy possibly whipped cream frosting was not too sweet. Surprised for sure — this cake is outstanding! We will be going back to try the Strawberry Crème cake next time.

I have had a great many baked goods from Larson’s over the years. Their banana cake is to die for. This most recent trip, though, was completely spontaneous. I was killing time before a movie and driving around Mill Plain. I ended up in the parking lot and saw the bakery was still open. Must be a sign from the pastry gods that I must enter. So, I do. It was the end of the day and there wasn’t a whole lot left. I did see 3 large danishes at the end of the case and ended up choosing the one that is basically a cinnamon roll in Danish form. A credit card swipe later and I’m walking out with something I don’t need but can’t wait to devour. Popped it in the oven the following morning to get warm and gooey. My thighs were screaming NOOOOO but my taste buds were saying yes yes YESSSSSS!

I ordered a Birthday Cake of yellow cake and milk chocolate frosting. The flavor of the frosting was good but there was so much frosting to the amount of cake ratio that is all you could taste. The cake was decorated beautifully but after the party nobody finished a piece of cake or wanted to take any with them. We ended up throwing 2⁄3 of the cake away it was basically just frosting. Costco makes awesome tasting cakes I just wish they were a lot smaller, but seeing as how we are throwing away cake anyway, I think that is what we will do for the next Birthday Party. I will include a picture to show how much frosting it was.

It was recommended that i try the Banana cake while in the area; went after work to get a piece and they were out. Go early, stopped in before work the best day and got a piece to go. I removed most of the icing as I didn’t want it too sweet. The banana bread is moist, the custard and fresh bananas provide a perfect sweet and creamy center, white chocolate shavings on icing give a sweet crunch. You HAVE to try it, at least once. Kids loved the frog cookies but they seemed a little pricey.

This is a review of the Dutch Crunch Apple Pie and the service. The office that I visit was having a «Pie day» and since I didn’t want to travel for 4 hours with a pie in the car I figured that I would order one from a local bakery. Of course I fired up my Unilocal app on the phone and a number of choices came up. Since I am a fan of shopping local I found Larsons and it looks like many you have too. I called on a Thursday for pickup on Tuesday and the lady who took the request was super nice and I did not have to give a credit card to reserve it. The Tuesday pickup went fine and was delicious! Come to find out another couple of people also got pies from them too. Great pies and excellent service.

Their Ribbon cake is oustanding. I used to get that every year for my birthday when I was living in Vancouver. Super moist cake, the marilyn filling is so different than most other fillings. I LOVE this cake. Get it. Now.

11÷4÷2015 Hygiene concerns — lady servicing at the counter: 1. Coughed in hand 2. Wiped nose with hand 3. Has what looks like nail fungus I couldn’t ignore 3 health issues of food handler.

For Vancouver, this is a good bakery. I bought a cherry pie that was one of the best I ever had. I wouldn’t recommend going to this bakery unless you had a full meal within the hour.

My family has been using Larson’s for years now, primarily for birthdays. If our budget had allowed for it, I would have considered hiring them for our wedding cake as well. I personally love their Pineapple Pom-Pom. The fresh pineapple and coconut filling is so good. But they also do a wonderful strawberry cream cake. I haven’t tried the deli/café side yet. The front area is kept clean. The displays of baked goods are enough to make my mouth water. Service is respectable. I have had a mix of very pleasant interactions and more aloof interactions. Thankfully, the quality of their cakes is more consistent than their service. I would highly recommend Larson’s. I recommended it to a friend from out of town who needed a cake for his wife’s birthday, and they both loved it too. Keep it up, Larson’s!

I am not a huge fan of anything banana-flavored but… their fresh banana cream cake is delicious. The first time I had it, a friend had brought it over for another friend’s first wedding anniversary party. I was surprised that I actually enjoyed it! I’ve been to Larson’s two other times – I ordered a 7″ double layer Nutty Fudge for a friend’s birthday and a ¼ sheet of the fresh banana cream cake for Mother’s day. The staff was very helpful over the phone and when I went to pick up the cakes. My friend loved his chocolate cake with the nutty filling/icing and the fresh banana cream cake was a hit. A lot of my family members don’t appreciate really sweet cakes – they normally opt for the bland Asian cakes. The Bavarian cream with the whipped cream icing had the perfect amount of sweetness combined with the banana cake and fresh bananas. They all asked where I had ordered it. If only Larson’s wasn’t all the way in Vancouver…

I have been coming here for 20 something years. I pretty much am a fan of everything but as you have read, their banana cake has been famous for YEARS! In 1997 my grandparents celebrated their 50th and last anniversary together and my grandpa always loved the banana cake! My favorite items tend to be around the holidays, as there are extra yummy goodies. Their cookies are made with butter, which means they are super yummy. Don’t forget they have sandwiches that are really good and coffee drinks. There are 1 or 2 staff members that don’t always seem that attentive. Everyone is nice, but some of the staff that have been there for years might not be the most outgoing to someone new that has never been there before. It also depends on the time of day you go in.

Chose Larson’s for our wedding cake after the other places we tried didn’t impress. Cake was exactly what we ordered, good, and was delivered on time. Would recommend for wedding cakes.

I’ve stopped in here a couple times now, and I would say its very good. It’s never crowded, which always surprises me. I’ve had 2 different kinds of their danishes so far, but everything in the case always looks really good, and seems very fresh. I usually stop in after getting my savory breakfast fix across the parking lot at «Seize the Bagel.»

This review is only for the banana cake. I was staying in the area for business, and I saw a fellow Unilocaler’s(SO to Alanna) review of this place. Let me just say, that banana cake was DELICIOUS!!! I don’t know exactly how they made it, but this is what it was to me: layers of banana bread, custard with fresh banana filling, and it was topped white chocolate and white chocolate shavings to boot!!! The next week I had to go back for another piece of banana cake heaven. And I wanted to find out if there was a way I could bring that heavenly goodness back with me to Seattle. Unfortunately, my quest to share the banana cake was destroyed! To keep the banana cake at its best, it can only be kept out for 30 minutes at room temp, otherwise it would have to be kept refrigerated and my travels(with work pit stops back up to Seattle) would not keep the integrity of the cake. :(Trust me, I was truly heartbroken. But, the next time I head down to the area, I will definitely be passing by here to get my banana cake fix!

I moved out of the PNW three years ago… and I still think about Larson’s Bakery’s deliciousness frequently. Their pink champagne cake is so amazing, light, and fluffy. If you’ve never been here before, you’re certainly missing out!

Their cakes are AMAZING, as are their pies — particularly chocolate crème. Their prices are high, and keep going higher — I know it’s the recession and all, but my birthday cake last week was $ 30 for the small one! I’m kind of getting over them because of it. Never have had the deli. The rolls/bread I have bought have been disappointing, but pastries always delicious.

Bakery items are really delicious. Both times I’ve been in, however, the staff have been short with me and seemed frustrated that customers were there. If they better labeled items behind counter with a description, perhaps that would reduce their having to answer customer questions? I don’t think I’ll return, as I hate feeling rushed or that I’m bothering them.

Came in here looking some kind of birthday dessert for a friend’s 30th. If I couldn’t find something here, I was going to drive into Portland, but I was pleased with what I saw upon walking in the door. I couldn’t decide on one specific thing so I ended up getting about 4 or 5 small things. None of them really stood out except for one. I can’t remember anything I got except for the mini banana cream pie. I am not a huge fan of anything banana but it was delicious!
