Tater tots were poorly cooked, just crumbled apart. Chicken was dry. Tried overcharging me for my burritos and when I asked for cilantro they wanted to charge me when it’s free in the lobby? Stopped here on my way home hoping to pick up some good food before bed. Instead just wasted almost $ 20 on food that was so gross I gave up on eating it. Did I mention awful customer service??? Don’t stop here, just keep driving. This location is nothing like any other muchas I’ve been to.

Not impressed. Quesadilla turned into a burrito. Both my friends burritos were sub par. Did not satisfy. Did have a good churro though, so add a star back for that.

Has anyone else noticed that of all the muchas gracias store, there is absolutely no Caucasians who work there? there seems to be about 10 – 15 stores, and I think I have been to almost ever one of them, and have yet to see a single other nationality working at these store. same thing is going on at a lot of other stores as well, I understand a mom and pop place hiring family members but this is a strong large growing chain. it just seems that they discriminate, from hiring Caucasians, and also, when I order food at many of them, I am treated badly, and alot of times, they cannot understand what I am saying, I have to point to a menu, and cannot ask simple questions like, can you brown my tortilla a little, so I don’t have a soggy limp burrito. I think Vancouver is becoming very diverse, and that Is awesome, but it seems some of the diversity, is racist as heck.

We moved here from California. When we got to Washington we were craving some delicious Mexican food. Portland does not have it. I’ve looked. But Muchas Gracias hit the mark. We’ve been here twice in one week and both times our meals came out delicious. The meat is tasty! The burritos are big! Try the tamale plate! It’s Ssssooooooo good! You would be missing out on some great food if you don’t stop here for a bite. It’s kind of like a dive, but don’t let that stop you. You’ll leave full and happy!

It’s my own fault for going back… but I really love their beans. 90% of the time I place an order with an 1 of rice and 2 beans the lid is smashed into the product. I posted pictures of how it looks when I pull it out of the bag. Use two bags if you needs to!

I ate two hard beef tacos from the drive-through today and could not have made a poorer choice. The beef is shredded and dry with no seasonings but(get this) there were a couple of tablespoons of grease that had collected in the wrapping paper. The taco shells were fried in-house but that must have been done a day or two before I got my order(they were a bit stale). If they just seasoned the meat with some spice, cilantro, etc. and added some kind of sauce to keep it from being so dry, that would have been great. Chopped tomatoes in the tacos would’ve have helped too. I ate the tacos 4 hours ago and I still have heartburn! I’d rather go to Taco Bell.

My aunt and cousin live really close to this place. We will usually come here late at night and we really enjoy it. I have enjoyed everything that I have ordered.

You wouldn’t think it’d be possible to screw up just getting a fountain Diet Pepsi but leave it to Muchas Gracias to hit even that distinction. Having cured myself from getting food from them(caveat emptor on digestive considerations) I sometimes swing by their drive through for a large Diet Pepsi. After tasting a ‘funny’ one the day earlier, when I got one the next day my suspicions were confirmed — somehow their ice … tastes like stale grease. Blagh.

I have seen these restaurants pop up all over the place like they are going to be the next Mcdonalds; usually they take over KFC’s that left their location. None the less they are everywhere! So, my husband and I went to try it out. He had come here one time before with his father, and this was my first time. The inside is as grungy as it looks on the outside. It as cheap as a hole in the wall anywhere else. Not very welcoming when you’re wanting a sit down dinner and some time with friends and family. I did fall in love with their refried beans and their rice. That was the best I think I have every had before. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if the reason why the beans tasted so good was because they put a lot of something unhealthy in it, like lard. They had a really distinct taste to them, and something oddly unique. I’m use to having my refried beans come from a can and from taco bell, so my perception of whats real or not is a little off in that department. I’m just saying that I wouldn’t be surprised with the hidden ingredients in it. I also don’t like seeing how they give you a free present of their ‘vegetables’ in a sandwich baggy. It doesn’t look the cleanest, or the most appealing in any place. My husband enjoyed them, but then again, hes pretty much happy with anything you give him, as long as he doesn’t have to be the one to cook it. If these places are popping up all over the place, then why don’t they put forth the money to make the insides nicer, and maybe some commercial looking photos of their food, rather than ones that Ive taken with a 35 mm? It would also be nice to walk into a place, and have the cooks and the staff there understand what it was that you were ordering, rather than pointing out your order from the pictures they have on a clip board. I know that sounds racist, and I completely understand that this is a legitimate Mexican food place, but working in America, it would be nice if they spoke American as well, since that’s kind of their target audiance. Not to mention, it would be nice to understand what they are ordering the cooks to do, in case you came off ignorant with them. I would go back again, but only through the drive through and only for their rice and beans.

I’ve given this place DOZENS of tries. DOZENS. My husband keeps going back, but I won’t ever eat there again. Probably the last 7 times I’ve eaten there, it’s been good going in, but not good going out if you get my drift. You’ll be sorry you went with ghetto for dinner, trust me.

Before I moved to Southern California, I thought Muchas Gracias was pretty much the best Mexican food ever. Again, this is before I moved to LA. I moved back to Vancouver and went to my beloved Muchas and was thoroughly disappointed. Guess I didn’t know what the good stuff was until I actually had it! The food here is greasy and«Americanized»(i.e. NOTSPICYATALL)!! However, it’s cheap, open late and I HEAR it’s good when you’re drunk. Haha.

Yeah, this place looks straight up ghetto, and it pretty much delivers on that promise. We got chimichangas and they were decent. I hate onions, and their meat is all mixed in with onions, peppers and tomatoes, so that pretty much ruined it for me. But it was good nevertheless. Apparently you don’t want to eat inside, so drive thru.

Driving up, this restaurant looked like a dilapidated old Skipper’s that was abandoned in 1980. It has apparently been taken over by a Muchas Gracias that skimped on extravagant flourishes like a fresh coat of paint. This was confirmed when I entered the restaurant as they haven’t even bothered to replace the trademark Skipper’s porthole windows. For the uninitiated, Muchas Gracias is a chain of restaurants that offers inexpensive Mexican food similiar to what you get in southern California. I imagine that these restaurants are very popular with the migrant worker crowd. The best thing that Muchas Gracias offers are their chicken and beef tacos. After ordering my chicken tacos and horchata, I sat down in their circa 1960 bench tables and admired my run down surroundings. Granted, the tacos, beans and rice were decent and inexpensive at $ 6.30. To put it in comparative terms, Muchas Gracias restaurants are a step up from Taco Bell and a notch down from Baja Fresh. My final thought as I walked out the front door was«why the hell did I just eat here?»

I am giving them 3 stars only cause it was the only place for mexican food when i lived out there. I came from So Cal and we had mexican places every where so this place was ok to eat at but when i moved back home i realized that this place was just ok. Maybe next time i am out there to visit i will try it again

«Dude, I want ‘The Gracias’. like now.» When it comes to the culinary world my sister and I don’t agree on a whole lot. But should one of us utter the phrase above, you can bet that the other will be on their way to the passenger seat almost immediately. This store used to be a Skippers and the inside hasn’t changed at all(it still has the portholes running the length of the side walls). It’s your typical MG — fast & no nonsense. The place is always empty, and I wonder if no one else in this fairly residential area realizes it exists. Of course maybe they gave it a shot and figured out that obvious, yet needs to be said, defining factor of a meal here: «Hmm. I don’t think my body is going to say gracias after I eat this…»
