Shanahan’s Pub & Grill

I love Shanny’s. I am loathe to write how much for fear that it will be overrun with people. I cannot believe how lucky I am to have this be my neighborhood bar. The food is fantastic and the happy hour is significantly long with amazingly good food. Thank you Shanny’s (Barb, Misty, Andi, Nate, et al) for being my home away from home now. See you soon!

Kitchen has been putting out quality grub here for years. Servers work hard to serve you. The hot wings were particularly tasty for lunch today. Always fun to see the longshoreman drinking their lunch.

Three stars for the five star nosh, but the one star service.
Food is creative, and well made. Service is worse than subpar. Waitresses are always short, and rude. Literally, messed up my order the last three times I was in.

Good morning! I’m just sayin. ‘I knew they had good food, but I had no idea it was «that good «not my words but perfect description of breakfast. The Gravy was killer. The portions for breakfast were large and I strongly suggest sharing unless you like left overs. But if you are hungry. Hey they will dance flavors on your palette.
The big omlette was such a terrific combo of meat, asparagus and cheese so good.
The chicken friend steak was perfectly seasoned but there was something I couldn’t place. Whatever it was it tasted awesome! The gravy on the top killer good, red potatoes with grilled peppers and big pieces of toast.
They have a large eggs Benedict selection I must mention. I will be trying those next time.

Mid-​week supper after a show at the Kiggins Theatre.
Great atmosphere. Bouncer carded us! All over 50 years of age, incidentally.
Really fun draft beer, even PBR on tap.
Fantastic club sandwich, amazing fish and chips, and a bunch of unique offerings that disappeared from plates fast.
Nice crowd, Blazers on the big screen, live bluegrass music in the back room, and veteran servers who really know their clientele.

My kind of local. The best happy hour $ 7 shepherds pie on the planet. Busy bar and staff still extremely attentive. Great spot for just about everybody.

Food was good. Service was great. Atmosphere was fun and friendly. Lots of beer to choose from. Eat here. Its great!

Came back to try to BBQ pulled pork from the house smoker. Let me tell you, I wasn’t disappointed! It was happy hour and I got 3 sliders with slaw and pickles. I’m going to dream about that appetizer. and the only reasons it didn’t get a 5 star is because it is kind of divey, therefore making it a little outdated and dirty and the parking situation is horrid. Also, the nachos supreme wasn’t the best but I know that’s know their specialty. I’ll definitely come back, again and again.

This is my favorite place to drink in Vancouver. They have a good selection of beer usually with several local brews. The staff are welcoming and always take care of you. The food is great. Especially the Steak Bites and the Shany Fries. Both very reasonably priced happy hour items. The place has an Irish touch and a collection of interesting beer memorabilia.

Almost gave them a 3 because it took forever for them to grab our cards to cash out, but the food was too good. Had steak and mushroom bites and some drinks. Nice spacious bar and good drink selection.

Great local’s bar. Stiff drinks. Great quality food. They have a huge bar, a pool table and plenty of TV’s for watching sports. The happy hour is one of the best in downtown with the best prices. We ordered the Caprese Salad, Thai Lettuce Wraps, Alaskan Cod Tacos and the sliders. The tacos are the BEST. The Caprese is a healthy serving but the mozzarella was a little tough and too cold. Will order the tacos again. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. The service is great here and the staff is friendly and down-​to-​earth.

My husband and I have been holed up working at our computers for far too long. He announced we were going out tonight for dinner or drinks or both… he just wanted a change of scene. We have been to many Main Street eats but had never seen nor heard of Shanahan’s. I was Unilocaling on our way out of the house to find something new and WOW… fellow Unilocalers… you did not disappoint!
Driving up, I’ll admit, it looks a bit sketch. It’s surrounded by automotive repair shops and a residential street alongside. There is a man on a barstool carding you as you walk in… and at my age, I guess this is an ego bonus? But, once you’re inside, you feel a warm embrace of welcome. In addition to the stools at the bar, there are booths, tables, a pool table and pinball game, a popcorn machine (gratis…yay!), several TVs, and memorabilia galore. The happy hour menu is served from 3:00 to 8:00 daily (generous!) and I hate to admit it, but I almost didn’t write this review because I don’t want you discovering this place! It is the stuff Triple D dreams of finding.
The steak bites, Irish Nacho plate and Alaskan Cod Tacos are 5-​Star. The servers are attentive… they arrive at your table just as you finish the first round and start to think about what you’ll want next. The vibe is casual and relaxed. Definitely enjoyed our first visit.

My girlfriend and our friends go to shannys pretty frequently and we get pretty good service every time but Misty & Marci are by far our favorite bartenders. They are always so friendly and welcoming.
Whenever we come here we have to order their shanny fries. They are amazing! All the food is pretty damn good.
And of course we order drinks… The part we love about drinking here is the prices! The drinks are pretty cheap compared to other bars in the area which is really nice!
This Irish bar has 2 pool tables and a really nice outside patio/​smoking area. We always have the best time at Shanahan’s! :)

My husband and I are regulars at Shanahan’s! Not only is the service wonderful, but the menu is amazing! We just came for brunch and I ordered the Lump Crab Skillet and I have to say that it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten! Shanahan’s happy hour menu is also fantastic and goes from 3−8pm daily! Definitely a place to check out!

We split a smoked salmon eggs benedict and a crab cake eggs benedict and both were rich and delicious! Other menu selections looked great too! They were understaffed but they seemed to manage it well.

Great local food, creative daily specials, insane happy hour with a TON of food, lots of draft beer and local spirits. Bartenders are hot, the clientele is friendly and welcoming, bathrooms are clean, lots of parking. Bloody Mary Bar Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, and they have every football game too. Boom. No reason not to be a regular there.

First time here and so far our favorite place! We recommend! R & F. Your Sudsuckers :)
