Stonebridge

I dont even know where to begin. My husband and I were looking for a place for his step-​mom who suffers from dementia. We were wooed by the sales associate who was wonderful to work with and genuinely cares for residents. However, the support staff must be overworked or just not trained in customer service. The staff does not respond to emails in what I would consider in a timely manner and issues often went several weeks before they were remedied. I do however, believe everyone who is employed there is sincere and tries to do the best they can. I am convinced it is due to the corporate for profit mentality of the company. In addition, they cost of care was much greater than anticipated. They provide you an estimate knowing that the price may increase. However, the price increased four times in a six month period. It makes it difficult to budget particularity when you are paying over six thousand dollar monthly. If you do decide to use Brookdale which is the corporate owner of the location of Stonebridge Vancouver I would encourage you NOT to use the auto pay system which they encourage. I can honestly say that during the six months my mother-​in-​law was a resident there was not one statement that was accurate. Thank goodness we did not opt for the auto pay and I reviewed the statements very carefully. They are confusing at best. When it was time to move my mother-​in-​law out we were told upon moving day that her personal belongings were packed for us. We had brought suitcases and travel bags. When we arrived at her room all her clothes were stuffed into green garbage bags. When we arrived at the new facility and «unpacked» her clothes, several items were not hers. I know this as there is a requirement to write the residents name on every article of clothing. I was not happy to say the least. I was going to file a formal complaints on all the issues we had but I figured why bother. We just cut our losses and got her the out of there.

This is an amazing establishment! It’s clean, the residents are well cared for, and the staff is great! I came through here as a nursing student and was blown away. Would be a great place for family and a great place to work!
