There is a lot of seating both in booths and at the counter. I pulled a few things off the belt and then wanted some custom orders. It took forever to flag down one of the two waitresses that were on the floor. The sushi was not horrible but I have had better

When this location first opened up in the mall I already had a favourite sushi bar to visit. My family and I decided to stop in and give this place a try. The service has always been decent. The staff are never anything phenomenal, but the service is better than most«self-serve» type of restaurants. The food, however, is what sets this sushi bar above all else. My favourite item here is the Dancing Beach roll. As it is a tempura roll I prefer it hot and fresh, and the staff never have a problem making a fresh order for me. I will definitely be coming here many more times in the future.

Two stars instead of one stars because the plates that I was able to finish were freshly put out on the conveyor belt and were not bad. But I wasn’t able to finish a meal because I bit down into a piece of plastic that was inside one of the rolls! I know accidents happen, but it’s not an unreasonable minimum expectation to not find non-food items in food.

The day I was here, the place should have been called Ethiopian Sushi Express. There were sings for all the offerings on the conveyor belt, but only empty spaces between the signs. You would think at 5:00 on a busy holiday that this place would be ready for a big crowd exiting the nearby movie theater, but this was apparently not the case. The quality of what little food there was was excellent but it gets tiresome watching the conveyor spin around 5 – 6 times with nothing added to it, especially when the place is only about 2⁄3 full.

We were there for 75 minutes and saw only a few items on the menu and it took way too long for special orders. Several couples around us were complaining also.

Unremarkable Sushi in the round with a side of cream cheese. Having passed by this location a number of times, I have oft wondered what the quality was like. The conveyor belt was always well stocked, and the décor seemed to convey a urban feel that implied quality. Having now tried this establishment, I can say that all it does is imply quality. Good sushi is minimal and tasty. This establishment believes that adding the ubiquitous«crunch» to every roll/maki equates to tastiness. Instead, it is a distraction clearly aimed at the WinCo crowd of sushi lovers. If you are looking for good sushi, keep searching, there is none to be had here. With cold dumplings being sandwiches by plates of spicy mayo drenched Phoenix rolls and every other plate containing cream cheese, I wonder if the chefs in the back have ever had quality sushi before.

Disappointed. While there was a large selection. Neither the sushi that included battered foods or the potstickers and egg roll were fresh. My sushi tempura battered was cold and soggy. My dining guest thought that maybe her potstickers had been refrigerated overnight and reservess. The single server was pleasant but responsive when I mentioned the low quality of today’s meal. Bummer not sure I will be back, I live their hot tea.

To sum this place up on one word, it would be terrible, which is almost a disservice to terrible restaurants out there. Service is nonexistent, food is average. The conveyor belt was 75% EMPTY the entire hour we were here. Trying to order other stuff of the menu was nearly impossible because staff ignored us. I will never go back.

I was not impressed by this place at all. I’ve been to a few sushi-go-round places but this has definitely placed itself dead last in terms of food quality and service. The rice was not sticky and very poorly held the sushi together. The fish was not fresh and room-tempuratured and the restaurant itself smelled like old fish. As for the service, we had to seat ourselves and were told this after about 5 minutes of standing at the cash register, confused. We also had to ask a waitress to take our drink order. We will not be returning.

My husband and I love this spot. The sushi always looks fresh, service is good, and the dishes start at $ 1! Plus for being someone that isn’t a big fan of the smell of fish this place smells fresh and is clean.

Where do I start? How about with the quality of their food?!! It was bad. I know that this is a sushi track restaurant so I don’t expect much. However, you should have some kind of quality and meet certain market standards. The sushi was not fresh and the rice on the rolls started to get callous. I can only assume it was out for awhile. Again, it’s a sushi go-round type of restaurant so I don’t expect much from the beginning. The thing that really turned me off was the service. There was no service! We made a separate order as we didn’t see anything go around on the track. First, they came back telling me they ran out of uni. I can understand that. Second, it took about fifteen minutes to get two sear salmon and two albacore. It shouldn’t take that long with six tables, three sushi chefs and two servers. Then, we asked for the check and that took another ten minutes for someone to help us. Sorry, with this kind of service… They should be charging $ 1.50 max for their plates. There should be no reason why 7 plates came out to approximately $ 20 for bad sushi. I will never go back again.

The regular sushi like salmon and various rolls are not bad. I’d even say those items are slightly better quality than from other Vancouver sushi places I’ve visited. And if items stuffed with cream cheese is your thing, then you’ll be happy with 75% of their sushi train. However, the uni(sea urchin) was downright repulsive. It tasted like a rotten snail from a dirty aquarium. Properly prepared, fresh uni is briney and smooth, which makes me think that theirs should have been thrown out for the sea gulls days ago. Don’t be adventurous here. Stick to the common items and you’ll be fine.

Not worth the convenience of a mall dine. Just drive elsewhere. Their sushi is very chewy and bland. Many of their rolls and nigiri felt like eating rubber. The only positives are its location and inexpensive prices. I appreciate the ambitious house rolls; however, I’m afraid they fail to deliver.

Stumbled upon this place while browsing the mall. gave a shot as we’re hungry and not had dinner. Originally I just wanted to eat a few sushi, but ending up 4 or 5 plates of different kind of sushis. A lot of choices on the conveyor belt. Taste good too. Love it and definitely will come back sometime later.

I’ve bee here twice so far and haven’t been let down either time. The Vancouver Roll and The Godzilla Roll are my favorite. I could probably eat the entire conveyor belt though!!! Delicious. They give a 20% discount in your birthday which I took advantage of a couple days ago! The waitress actually gave 20% off of the entire party, not just my plates which was really nice :) The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because I felt the inside of the restaurant could be cleaner.

My daughter and I feel we have found a fabulous sushi place here. We come here frequently and have never been disappointed. Professional staff and everything is clean and orderly. It’s vital that sushi is fresh and they deliver it fresh every time. They are very professional and kind. We are welcomed every time we walk in. I am not sure they remember us, however, they make us feel very welcome. We are not avid mall shoppers. We seriously come for the sushi here. Some times we will stop at a couple shops. We highly recommend trying Sushi Express within the Vancouver Mall.

Ok, so they were conveniently located near Cinetopia, and they had some fun non-tradiational rolls. The rolls were pretty loose and fell apart even before I made it to the soy sauce. Once in the soy sauce, I ended up with rice and soy soup. The robata concept is cute and you can order from the hostess too. The prices were comparable to other locations, but when you take into account the quality of the roll it was not great. I would probably not go again.

I can honestly say that this Sushi«train» restaurant, located inside the infamous Vancouver mall, is a fantastic experience every time. Granted, this place is on the spendy side, even though the false hope of the signs outside saying, «Starts at one dollar», is bordering false advertisement(it’s not). If you complain about the price, I’m sorry. I can recommend a cheap place on 82nd and Foster in Southeast. The quality is great, the selection is great, the service is great … What else do you want? I’m sorry that the Snooty Bunch finds stupid shit to nitpick at(My napkins aren’t made of silk! The chopsticks are cheap! My food isn’t five star quality! Bluh bluh bluh), but, for the average consumer who wants a decent meal that isn’t greasy mall food, this place works. And I love it. The only thing I don’t really like is the kalamari. Other places nearby give you lots for not a lot of money. Sushi Express gives you a fancy dish with a few sticks. Still good, but didn’t stun or exceed expectations. Not a huge deal. So, yeah! Definitely a «let’s go somewhere nice for a change/once in a while» place, and worth it.

So, first of all, this is a conveyor belt sushi bar in the middle of Westfield Vancouver Mall. Weird, right? That’s what I thought… I gave it a chance because a friend of a friend is a server there. I was pleasantly surprised! The plate prices are pretty standard. You get a nice amount of sushi per plate, and they offer a decent variety of bottled beers. It’s really convenient if you get hungry while shopping or waiting for your movie and don’t want to hang out in the food court.
