Many go here for coffee, but they’ve a nice selection of teas! Decore is nice blond/oak wood tones. Local art greets you at the entry. AND they have more Gluten Free options than ST-RB_CKs! This customer did have to clear several cups & saucers from a small table in order to set my purchases down near the comfortable chair I selected. But overall, a nice experience!

I like Thatcher’s. They have a brick and mortar location on Grand Blvd that’s certainly worth a visit. This particular location is actually a kiosk inside the Vancouver Library. Being a kiosk, their selection is a bit limited but that’s the nature of kiosks, yes? Having said that, I find their selection more than sufficient. The coffee has always been well prepared and tasty. The employees all seem to enjoy what they do. As the son of a librarian, I occasionally have a moment’s pause seeing food and drinks around the books. It’s kind of like looking up at the ceiling of a church and spotting a disco mirror-ball. Give me time, I’ll get over myself.

I love they original thatchers, and when my group came to the library to meet for a group project we all got our drinks and went away to study(in the most beautiful library ever). But I love that they have a second location here, and I love that the library has a coffee shop. I also love that they chose thatchers instead of going with the typical nasty small shop coffee place with burnt espresso and endless torani flavors. It adds to the beauty and serenity of this place, knowing that the best coffee in Vancouver is just downstairs.

Lovely staff, amazing coffee and fresh pastries every morning. The prices are a bit high but I will pay for a buckwheat fig scone because I have never seen the like anywhere else and it is ridiculously delicious. This coffee shop is in the atrium of the Vancouver Community Library.

Drinking coffee here made me into a coffee snob. It’s sad but true, as before I had been living my life happily drinking mediocre java. As soon as I took a sip of a soy vanilla latte at Thatcher’s, my life as I knew it changed. Prices are high, so this is still a treat, but the folks behind the counter are always pleasant and knowledgeable and(if you’re lucky) might make you a drink that’s not on the menu(like, say, a matcha latte). Beware! They close at 3, so don’t come in minutes before the library closes and expect to get your caffeine fix.

I had a nice tea and shortbread cookie here. The barrista was very nice and recommended the lemon poppyseed shortbread cookie. Two crispy shortbread cookies sandwiching a creamy lemon filling. Combined with a nice breakfast tea this made for the perfect work break in the airy library atrium.
