If you’re driving the 40 mph speed limit along Vashon Highway, you’ll probably miss it. Heading north, it’s on your right after passing SW266th Lane. Heading south, it’s on your left after passing SW Wesleyan Way. There is a miniature turnout with a couple parking spaces. The actual park is only 0.9 acres and most likely was a viewpoint back in the day before the trees became overgrown. Through the trees, you would have a spectacular view of Quartermaster Harbor. Other than a large rock with the history of Vashon Island engraved on it, and a round, stone picnic table, there’s not much else to be seen… If you’re not shy, it’s a great place to secretly empty your bladder: X.

It’s not so much a park as a random rest stop. If you were going the long way around from anywhere and your kids need to stretch their legs before they drive you crazy, stop here. Beware the drop and don’t expect a compelling view though. I think this is the closest thing to a national park we have. It reminds me of one. In small scale. With a distinct lack of human bodily fluids. It’s kinda cute. I can believe teenagers made out here in the 50’s.

Big let down. Mt. Rainier was in view, but it’s in view from other places on the island too. Couldn’t see anything else due to the trees, even in the dead of winter without any leaves. I’m not sure how you could see the harbor or Maury Island from this point as the other poster said, but maybe the surrounding nature has changed since then ?? I’d recommend going to Pt. Robinson Park and the lighthouse instead if you want a good view of the mtn and a picturesque spot.

How small town cheesy is a place called Inspiration Point? Like some 50’s makeout scene. Wait, it was. So during the day the view of Quartermaster Harbor and Maury Island and Mt. Rainier is great and LOTS of photos have been taken here over the years. During the night… well, what do you think happens in a small pullout without any streetlights or much for kids to do on a sleepy island? It is small, but you’ll never find more than a few cars anyway. Just follow the main highway past Burton, past the water and up the long, winding hill. You’ll know the hill. Trust me. You’ll see the place. It’s like Kerry Park in the country.
