Well, full disclosure first: The owner of Bonne Bouffe is a parent at our school. She has been very generous with her time and talent, catering both our Halloween party and our dinner-theater evening yesterday. She had a lot of restrictions, including having to satisfy both adults and picky children, gluten allergies, nut allergies. In addition, this is a very busy weekend for them(holiday parties). The spread they laid out for us was delicious and beautifully presented. They decorated the dinner tables and the buffet tables with rich-looking fabrics and real foliage and flowers in a lovely holiday theme. There was a pizza at each table, and the buffet consisted of ionized water, Martinelli’s, grilled vegetables(French green beans, carrots, yellow and orange bell peppers ~ very colorful and delicious), citrus chicken that was moist and tender, ravioli with marinara sauce(separate), salad, and a choice of various superb desserts. Maybe equally importantly(!), they cleaned up so quickly and efficiently that, a half-hour later, you wouldn’t have known there’d been anything going on at all!

Quick tasty crepes basically at a walk-up stand on the sidewalk! You can get either savory or sweet crepes, you choose your ingredients on a little paper menu & the adorable(authentic) French guy whips it up right there. If it’s a busy morning, naturally there’s a wait & little room on the sidewalk between the diners eating at picnic tables & the passing pedestrians/cyclists, so use that time to run into Queen’s Market next door & get some juice to go with that delicious crêpe! Bön apetite!

Juicy French Crepes Love these crepes made from a real frenchman! For $ 7 you can either get the turkey crêpe or the sweet crêpe. Both are extremely delicious. The place is pretty much a hole in the wall since they only serve this on the weekends. They are usually a catering service and it is a privilege to have these crepes available only on the weekends. They are usually open from around 8−4pm. Everyone who works here are usually helpful and courteous, especially the french man behind the counter. He is always cheerful and have such a positive attitude. You can tell that the crepes are always made with pride and passion. I usually get the savory and sweet crêpe as dessert. I love crepes and I can tell when a crêpe is made perfectly. The ingredients in the crepes I’ve gotten have always been evenly distributed and always had a little bit of crisp. You get 2 crepes for the price of 1 whichever crêpe you get. You can put the ingredients you want in a piece of paper. I personally love caramelized onions and I’m glad that they have it inside the savory crepes. The bonus on the sweet crepes is that it has nutella and fresh strawberry and banana. I think putting the caramel with the nutella on the sweet crêpe is a bit too sweet, but some who have a sweet tooth really enjoy that sweetness. I always enjoy getting my crepes here and I try to come by every weekend.

Amazing Unilocal story! After my last review, I was contacted by the owner, Erica. She was completely mature and responsible for the way she’d acted, and told me what was going on in her life– not as an excuse, but as information. The real problem with my last experience was all due to the lack of signage. Since I’m an artist, I volunteered to make signs that represent when the crepes are available as well as some others! In the office, I was able to see the true colors of the business. Erica gives back to the community, caters school lunches, and hires young underprivileged people in several cases. This is an amazing local business, and Erica has expressed she’s working on her communication and welcomes you to come in and give her feedback on crepes days… which, by the way, are Saturday and Sunday :)

yummy!!! we have lived across the street for 6 months but never realized this place sells crepes! we always noticed the sidewalk sale so we never thought to look more into it. thanks to Unilocal,i read about it and we gave it try today. handsome french man takes our order, his friend’s wife sets up her sidewalk sale and they send us off with two delicious crepes and a croissant. i got the sweet crêpe with strawberries, bananas and caramel. my bf got the savory crêpe with turkey, mushroom and cheddar. super good and the croissant was the best! definitely coming here in the future. they mainly do catering, but are open on the weekend to the public =)

Oh la la! These crepes were amazing! I lived in Paris for two years and the crepes totally reminded me of the ones I had there. Some friends and I decided to go to Venice Beach for the day and we drove by Bonne Bouffe. Having lived in France, I am obsessed with everything French, so when I saw the«French Crepes» banner, I had to stop. The staff is super nice and the crepes are reasonably priced. I was bummed to hear they only sell the crepes on the weekend because I work nearby, but I will definitely stop by next time I’m in Venice!

So so delicious! The savory crêpe was filled with turkey, mushrooms, tomatoes, and cheese. The sweet crêpe was filled with Nutella and strawberries. The portions are huge. We’ve seen this place a few times before, but never stopped – what a mistake! These crepes are better than the ones I had in France!

This place caught my eye as I was driving by. They had a big sign saying«French Crepes»! It’s run by a REAL Frenchman, and he’s really nice. I asked him if it’s a restaurant, and he said not really, everything has to be bought to go. So I asked if he had a menu, and he said no but he could describe what he has. I ended up getting a crêpe with egg, cheese, caramelized onions, smoked turkey, tomatoes, and mushrooms. It was muy delicioso! One of the best crepes I’ve ever had.
