I didn’t notice any sterilization of any of their tools. In all the other piercing places I have been to, there had been some sort of sterilization machine and I was shown proof and the steps taken to assure everything was clean. I regret going through with it. The piercer was super friendly and I didn’t experience pain until two weeks later when I ended up in the ER with an infection. One of the most painful and traumatizing experiences of my life. The jewelry had completely sunk into my ear and I was swollen down to my jaw. I am now on antibiotics to treat an infection that could have potentially gone to my brain. Be careful with piercings and make sure, especially if you are sensitive to them, to go somewhere that goes through extreme measures to sterilize everything. They use surgical steel here. I suggest going somewhere that uses titanium jewelry.

@amburr_rain Amazing and smooth piercer! I thought it would hurt like hell and more than my tongue piercing but it didn’t at all! It burns a little now, but if you follow the after care instructions it will heal faster and in no time. Go here for a smooth piercer that will make u feel at ease:)

I went to this location after doing research/reading reviews etc. I have been planning my tattoo(a large back piece) for about 2 years now, so as you can imagine Im very picky about the artist/shop. I met with Kat, wonderful lady. I told her my ideas, she understood, gave me some input even did a measurement of my back. So I left her with the drawings I had, she said to come back in about 2weeks, give her time to «draw up» some stuff. She said she would do an outline on wax paper and when I come back I can change/add anything and we can set a date to get started. Of course I was required to leave a $ 100 deposit. So two weeks later I came back, excited to see what she had drawn. … what she showed me was — the paper I had left with her, of drawings I printed from my computer — she pretty much cut those out and aligned them where I wanted them… so yes, she showed me the exact same thing I had brought in 2 weeks prior, no drawing. Everything she showed me was printed off of a computer. I was uneasy about this and asked if I could see her DRAWING — as we all know, people DRAW differently, I wanted to make sure her artistic impression was what I wanted. So she then suggested that I come back in another 2 weeks so she could work on something, and we could also start the tattoo that day. I made some last minute plans to go on a vacation, so I couldn’t make it in on the date we decided. I called her prior to let her know. So maybe a month later I call her to set a date and she is no longer working there. Okkkkkkkk so Im cool with working with another artist, but where is my $ 100 … no response. I called House of Ink to talk to the owner they«take a message», «he will get back to you» — days later, no response. I drive down there, ask to speak to the owner«he’s not in, he’s usually here after 3pm. but Ill let him know you stopped by» —— I call another day — after 3pm «he’s here but he’s working on someone, he said he has your info he’ll call you soon» —- still days later, no response. I GOBACK to the shop one day after 3pm «he’s not here yet» — I continue to call periodically to try to get in contact with him — ALWAYS«he’s not here can I take a message» — NORESPONSE, no calls back. I have asked for his email address — «he doesn’t have one»… so months later, Im out $ 100, with no tattoo. LESSON: if you are a tourist getting a quick butterfly tattoo, go for it.(I guess) If you have planned something out, DONOTLEAVEMONEYWITHTHEM, YOUWILLNEVERGETITBACK! EVER! The funny part is, I would have been ok with going with a different artist, but now that I know I am being blatantly ignored, I will just refer people I care about to NOT do business with you. There are MANY other tattoo shops in LA! I would have given the review a 0 if possible… I paid $ 100 and got nothing out of it!

I have gone to Nick Urbanovit who was referred to as the«skinny m…» in another review for years and was nothing but honest, professional and talented to say the least. He really is a gifted artist. Artists have a right to have an opinion. Those with integrity do. I can’t recommend Nick enough. My experiences over the last three years getting tattooed by him have been stellar, enjoyable, honest and have made me feel stoked. I consider him a friend and honestly one of the most gifted artists around. Everyone has an opinion like everyone has an asshole. You have a right to express, listen and ignore. But don’t defame someones character publicly because at the end of the day«Emily» you really do sound your age. 19… you have a lot to learn.

I went in here to get a tattoo and didn’t even end up getting one because this skinny fucker in there was so rude. He asked if it was my first tattoo and how old I am which is standard whatever I said yes and 19 and he proceeded to basically tell me it was a stupid idea to get a tattoo until I’m established in a career. He was incredibly rude and belittling and my friend ended up telling me to wait to get the tattoo and we walked out. Such a shame too because since they’re in Venice all the other shops looked sketchy so I deliberately chose them because they looked clean and some guy tells me I can’t get a tattoo? I’m a grown ass adult woman. I guess even the sketchiest place in Hermosa would be better than the least sketchy place in Venice. I will not be going back. I’ll probably end up going to Hermosa Ink and Apparel or Yer Cheat’n Heart in Hermosa Beach.

This is a review for my dermal that went horribly wrong. I got it, simply because the gentleman piercing all 3 of my friends said«I really want to put a dermal in your rose». I had just got my neck pierced by him, after telling him the horrors of my last Venice piercing… where he said«Well you didn’t get pierced by me, mine don’t reject». Well, needless to say, my neck only took about 2 months so fully reject. Today(after months of different suggested ointments and countless ban aids, my wrist dermal finally got too gross and far enough out of my skin that I decided to cut it out myself. I regret it. Next time a piercer says«I really want to do that» just don’t. He is a cool guy, gave us great deals… However, that tattoo artists there are awesome :)

I just got my cartilage pierced and it was great. My piercer was Justin and he was really cool about. I’m not good with needles and he explained everything and calmed me down and I was finished in 5 minutes. They are quick, easy, and very clean. I recommend them.
