After a long hot summer day, it was a very nice place to chill out. Nice place with lots of different beers and wines. Actually, the deluxe burger was the best hamburger I had in the USA!

Great food for a touristy area. Had a burger with sweet potato fries and a chicken apple salad. The burger was a perfect size on a nice toasty bun and the hamburger was juicy with a flame grill taste to it. The salad and apples was fresh. The chicken was nicely sliced that went well with the salad.

Great Bacon Blue burger and sweet potato fries. The tuna poke with crispy rice was delicious as well. Good service from Daniel. They even split the bill for our party. :) They had a highchair for my kid.

Have eaten here about 5 times… menu is limited, which is fine, sometimes large menus are not needed… but I tend to get the same thing because nothing pops out as omg I need. IMO, if you’re going to have a smaller menu, what’s on there should be perfect and awesome. First couple times the food was decent but the last couple it was way salty. Not sure which was the fluke. Beer selection is probably best at the whole beach right now. Lately we’ve been eating elsewhere and stopping here for drinks. Atmosphere is. kinda blah? Nothing memorable but not obnoxious… always seems too bright in there. Bathrooms are singles and usually clean and stocked… so extra star just for that.

As soon as we walked in the door we were greated and allowed to pick our table. Our server recommended the pork sandwich. It was amazing with carmelized onions & au jus. I like that the restaurant is open. It’s nice to have fresh air when you’re so close to the beach. They have sangria on Sunday’s with Apple slices in it. I’d like to come back for brunch! It seemed like all the food is good. We saw the expo/runner take a piece of food from someone’s plate. Careful! Everyone can see you. The same runner filled up our water & got mustard when our server was busy. Good teamwork. It seemed like there were 2servers on but ours seemed busier. The other female sever didn’t help him out.

I had a short stay at Venice and decided to order a couple dishes to take to the beach. It was chilly sitting on the beach but the food made up for it! Tuna Poke with Crispy Rice — good portion of tuna sprinkled with sesame seeds and cilantro. Tasty by itself just like that but even tastier with the sweet soy sauce that came with it. Yeah crispy rice was so good. These are rice rolled by as balls and fried — crispy outside and gooey moist center. And tastier with the sauce but already good by itself! Shrimp Avocado and Citrus Salad — the shrimp had a strong grilled flavor, yum! Love the mix of orange slices in salad. The green dressing, which I believe had a cilantro taste was nice and light. Not too heavy. These came in containers on the side so I used sparingly. Sweet Potato Fries — whenever there are sweet potato fries on the menu, I order it. Having said that, I’ve tried a lot of sweet potato fries before. These were not the best but not the worst I’ve had. The fries were cut to thin so when fried, it just becomes a thin tough piece, as if just eating the skin. Came with ketchup and ranch sauce if that’s your thing.

After a long day of walking up and down Venice Beach on vacation, we stopped in for a beer, but ended up ordering 15 minute wings and the haystack. Shoestring fries with a spicy sauce and blue cheese dressing. The fries came out heaping, and the wings were huge. Normally I’m not a wing girl, but we’re great. The skin was crispy, the meat was juicy and lots of it, and the sauce was spicy sweet. Yum!!! I could have licked the plate! Of course we sat at the bar to which there is a mirror image bar on the other side of the resturant… genius! The staff was incredibly friendly and personable. The place was super packed, but we were never ignored and checked back on frequently. Locals and tourists alike should stop in and give this place a try.

I didn’t think a lot of this place when we walked in for a bite and a cold beer. But seriously: I was served the best wings I have ever had. We didn’t have room for more than a starter each, but trust me: Next time it will be a whole lot of food, cause everything that I saw looked absolutely amazing. But again: The 15 minute wings — Heaven sent! If you’re in the neighborhood make sure to pay them a visit. If you’re not in the neighborhood, just make new freaking plans and get your cute little tushy to Simmzy’s.

Burgers are amazing! But also try the turkey burger and chicken sandwich, not sure which one I liked better. Chicken salad is also pretty ridiculously good also. I’ve been to the Simmzy’s in Manhattan beach numerous times and the one in Venice is just as good. Worth the wait

Had lunch here a few days ago — we ventured to Venice beach(couldn’t be more grossed out and had to get the heck outta there). Simmyz is located near a bunch of restaurants right off the beach. Very cool vibe and great service. They offer so many different types of beer and willing to offer samples! Really awesome perk. We had the wings, blue cheese burger, fish tacos and the mixed fries. The burger was really good and juicy. The fish tacos were extremely fishy and the tortilla just fell apart — would not order that again. The wings were awesome. Really crispy with a unique sauce that was a little sweet and spicy. You have to order fries or any sides ala carte which is somewhat annoying but they were good and worth the $ 4 bucks. All in all a good experience and would go back — at least for the burger and wings!

Came here for a few beers and a snack in the evening. There is no bar seating which was a little disappointing but the place is very open and we sat at a table right by a huge open window which was great for people watching. The beers were good and our server was knowledgable. Extensive draft menu. Had a kale Caesar which was good! Good sports bar.

Grass fed burgers need seasoning. Save some money, walk a few steps west, get some flavor @ Hinano. Extremely disappointing. I even got the Bacon Blue Deluxe. Nothing deluxe here. 2nd star for good beer.

exactly like the location in Manhattan beach. This place is sooo good and inexpensive, has a great beer list too(only serves beer and wine) they are known for their fish tacos and burgers but everything is a tasty treat. if you like brussel sprouts, they have an off menu item, its a thick cut piece of toast with brussel sprouts, capers, and olive oil. v dericious.

Had a few drinks and some phenomenal chicken wings at the bar. The beer selection is great and the barman had us samples some of them before we made our pick. Great place close to the the Marina Del Rey beach shore!

I had a wonderful first experience several years ago at the Manhattan Beach location. Most of the experience was the energy in the room which I appreciated even though I had to wait 30 minutes for a table. In Venice, on the random Sunday I checked out the Venice location there was no wait, but also no energy as the bar was open. I’d gone primarily to get Buffalo wings and watch football. I unsuspectingly ordered Simmzy’s 15-minute wings with the tantalizing phantom aroma and taste of hot sauce and butter rolling in my mouth. Reading the description on the menu I kind of figured this was a different preparation that would have asian influences so I was basically tricking myself into believing I was going to get standard pub fare. The wings are good. I’d order them again. I’d prefer them to regular Buffalo Wings sometimes on somedays. But I REALLY wanted the choice to just get some standard Buffalo Wings. There was blue chease so that was a plus, but it didn’t fit my hankering. What’s crazy is that The Venice Whaler was packed and full of energy. No great Simmzy’s menu, just a lot of people drinking and looking at the ocean. My 3 stars is not for the food. The food was 4 stars. My 3 stars is because the place was zombie apocalypse empty. I should be so happy that it was empty and that I didn’t have to wait… however it did not deliver on my fond Manhattan Beach Simmzy’s first-time experience.

We literally stumbled upon this place as we were exploring for places to eat in Venice Beach, stopping once we saw the large craft beer bar. Of course, the smiley face could only mean that good things happened here… And we were right! We went with our gut and ordered the haystack fries, the chicken wings and ceviche. My husband and I have had our fair share of ceviche from California and Mexico(it’s one of our faves), so we weren’t too impressed. It seemed soupy and had a sweet tomato overload, like someone poured Pace Picante over some canned fish. While we wouldn’t recommend THAT small plate, the haystack fries and chicken wings were incredible. Our server, Michael, made some excellent beer recommendations that completed the meal. He’s a pretty funny dude, full of energy. Apparently back in the kitchen, those haystack fries are called«crack fries» — because the servers can’t stop eating them. After mowing through our entire dish, it all made sense! We decided to splurge for the apple donut after seeing an awesome review here on Unilocal.Holy smokes — you NEED to order this. Maybe before any other dishes, simply so you don’t run out of room! It was outstanding. Be sure to pair it with a Saison Dupont! We would definitely try this place again. Giving it 5 stars because we feel like we should’ve known better with choosing the ceviche — everything else made up for that miss.

Friendly service and fresh food right next to the beach. A table of 5, we were seated quickly. Ordered drinks and the mixed bag of fries and the poppers for appetizers. The sweet potato fries were soft inside and crunchy on the outside. The sauces that accompanied were really good as well. The jalapeño poppers were super good. Stuffed with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon, a great start to the meal. I had the short rib salad which had a really good amount of short rib in it and a good helping of everything else. The chicken sandwich was also super yummy and the guys who got burgers were really impressed with the quality of the meat. Overall a great experience at this place and I highly recommend!
