First time In LA it’s like 8:30pm looking for food, hey tacos caught my eye the lady who took my order has no type of customer service skills rude wasn’t paying attention wasn’t helpful at all, secondly how are you going to have a burrito with no type of beans, rice, or even salsa it all cost extra and last but not least the flavor of the food just wasn’t there at all I understand they close in 30 minutes and want to get out of here but the fries that was in my Cali burrito was so soggy like it was already pre-rolled when I went to ask for hot sauce she said they don’t carry any? Like wtf and seen the cook throw a pre rolled burrito on the grill with the wrapper on it he flipped it twice and handed it to a different customer NEVEREVERAGAIN I would rather just eat chips for dinner

I didn’t know how anyone could screw up a burrito until I had one at this place. I ordered the adobada burrito, and it was the soggiest most tasteless burrito ever. I threw out half the burrito and if you knew me, it would be shocking to be tossing away food. I also ordered their specialty: carne asada fries. It’s pretty basic with nothing magical about it: it’s fries topped with sour cream and quacamole and some cheese.

I have been to their sunset Blvd location many times and I would like to report that they have copied the excellent flavor and pasted it in Venice. Decent sized parking lot and cool interior. If you need some fuel before or after hitting the beach be sure to stop here.

Ordered online via UberEats. Food was delivered quickly and still warm, but it just wasn’t very good. Ordered the Cali burrito and carne asada fries. The meat was very tough and over-flavored… over, just not that good. Won’t be ordering from here again because there are so many other options in the area.

The best fish tacos in Los Angeles! I stumbled upon this place after I walked into Wurstküche to meet friends and discovered I couldn’t eat anything on their menu. I really needed to eat something so I ran around the corner and found Taco Love. I was expecting just a run of the mill taco stand type place — it is in a kind of run down mini-mall — but it was fantastic! Great décor. Friendly. And the fish tacos were delicious!

Ordered tacos from here today via über eats. Super disappointing… I got carnitas and asada tacos, plus pico de gallo. As someone who makes carnitas, asada, and pico de gallo at home, and has eaten mexican food every week of my life, the food here was ridiculously mediocre(at best). Everything was severely under-salted and bland. I honestly don’t know how they could make a taco with meat, onion, and guacamole(which was on the tacos) so flavorless, but they succeeded. Definitely would not order again. Hopefully they teach their cooks to properly salt and taste the food. Not authentic, not very good, would not recommend.

got cali burrito carne asade, adobada fries, quesadilla, and was supposed to get churros, they didnt come. the adobada tasted like it came out of a trash can, the carne asade was so peppery it was gross, and the quality of meat was meh. quesadilla was fine, no surprise it always blows me away when a place makes crappy mexican food in a place like LA. figure it out, tons of good chefs, why not be better?

First time there today for a quick lunch. I got the chicken quesadilla and two chicken tacos. Great ingredients, great cooking… nothing else to say about the food. Except I wish they had orchata as a fountain drink! I’m not giving 5 stars because of the restroom. After all, this is(also) part of the overall experience, and this one didn’t «look» good.

Much love for Taco Love. Though I’ve spent most of my life in L.A., I also spent just over a decade in San Diego when I was a kid. In that time, I became accustomed to certain comforts, including good Mexican food, and especially carne asada fries. Fast forward to Los Angeles, 2016. I work down the street, so was pretty aware a new«taco place» had opened up a while ago. But I wasn’t really craving tacos those first few months TL was open. So, I put off checking it out… until, one day, I was so sick of the same old places that I always went to that I decided to give TL a shot. Even though I still wasn’t craving tacos. I soon discovered I had been pretty ignorant about what I should expect from Taco Love. I walked in, looked at the menu, and celebrated a little on the inside. Why? Because, my friends… FRIES. Fries are on the menu. Fries topped with a number of Latino-style cuts of meat, along with cheese and sour cream. I had found my new home. But did I REALLY want to settle for something I had eaten my entire life? I mean, sure, everyone makes things a little differently. But still. This was a new place, and I wanted to try new things. I have a thing for novelty. So I decided to skip the carne asada and tried something I had never even heard of before: adobada. Apparently, adobada is pork prepared in such a way that it comes out chunky, sweet and spicy. And it is delicious. But the choices don’t stop there. I had to choose between a half-order and a full order. «Uh, I’m a big guy that eats everything in sight. Give me the full.» Yeah, well, that was more food than even I needed. So the NEXT time(because I would be stupid to not come back), I went for the half. Not only is that affordable, but it is extremely filling. Did I already mention delicious? Like, SO. GOOD. And then I came back again. I started wanting to try their other menu items. I wavered between their standard burrito and their cali burrito. The latter has fries, cheese, and sour cream… guess which one one the battle over my stomach’s heart? Yeah. Won it, like, 60 times. I’m not even joking. In all 100% seriousness, my best estimate of how many times I’ve eaten here since first falling in love with it earlier this year is roughly 60. I’m here ALL. THE. TIME. The food is great. ALWAYS fresh and everything tastes like it’s just been made right there. The meat is always juicy, tender and cooked to perfection. The salsa might end up on DEA radar because it’s that massively addictive. I highly, HIGHLYHIGHLYHIGHLYNOMOREHIGHLYTHANTHISBECAUSETHISISTHEHIGHESTHIGHLYEVERHIGHLY recommend this place. Because if you don’t try this place, it really is your loss. And you haven’t lived. And I pity the fool.

Hella delicious Cali Burrito and super friendly and cool staff. Even the bench seating is seriously comfy. This is my latest favorite hidden gem in Venice. Will be back!

Went to order and they said they were too busy to take my order. I was with only one other person so it’s not like it was a catering order … just wanted a burrito each. What fast food restaurant turns away business? What a joke Plenty of options for quick burritos in LA.

Definitely wouldn’t come back here. I ordered from this place on Über Eats and it was really flavorless. I can’t believe a Mexican place as bad as this exists in LA. I got a carne asada taco and a fish taco. The carne asada taco was so dry and bland. The tortilla was so thick and there was barely any carne asada on it and absolutely no sauce on it. It was super dry and it didn’t taste any better with the red and green salsa that they provided. Then the fish taco was also awful. The fish that came on it was one tiny piece of fish that wasn’t even half the size of the taco. There was barely any cabbage on it, so it was basically half a taco inside a full tortilla. Overall, super disappointing. Definitely not authentic Mexican food and has no flavor to this. You’re best passing on this restaurant.

I ordered the carne asada fries, a carne asada taco and an adobo taco and they were all disgusting. Maybe I’m spoiled when it comes to taco shops because I went to college in SD but this place is easily one of the worst I’ve ever been to. The meat was chewy and flavorless. It’s terrible quality meat and to top it off everything was severely lacking in seasoning… even the hot sauce. I will never eat here again. Stay away.

Let’s get to the point. I went to the same high school as the dudes that own this joint and know EXACTLY who they’re trying to copy. I’m sure they’ve had just as many after school meals at said place as me, the difference being a poorly executed«hey, we should open a place like this in LA» idea. Sadly, they do not even come remotely close. The food looks like the place that has been a Chula Vista staple, but that’s where the similarities end. The cups of red sauce that came with the meal was terrible and tasteless(and half full, really?). The carne asada was gnarly and chewy and explains they’re relatively low prices. A disgrace to who they’re trying to emulate. If it wasn’t so blatant, then this review would be less harsh. Seriously, find your own identity instead of trying to copy. Everyone, stay away. If you’re from San Diego, run. If you’re from south San Diego, get angry. Ps this is my boyfriend posting this

Got the tacos they looked and smelled delicious; however, compared to an LA street taco they were a lil bland. A dash of salt made them decent. Wonderful customer service! Depending on your palate you may actually love them and understand why they are a local favorite. Would i go back… hmmm maybe!

A true hidden gem in the yuppie new-age food wasteland that is Venice. Good prices, good burritos, and never a line. The churros are absolutely delicious. Clean on the inside, attentive service and healthy fast food. Highly recommended if you live in the area or are stuck in the legendary Lincoln Blvd traffic.

My husband and I stopped in here today. This restaurant offers counter service. We were waited on promptly and our food came out quickly. We enjoy reasonably priced Mexican food, but we do like the casual sit down places where you can get a good margarita too. I used to like Chipotle a lot, but I have been avoiding it since all of the bad press came out. I learned about this establishment on Unilocal and the menu looked pretty basic, which we do like when it comes to this cuisine. I ordered a quesadilla and rice. I did enjoy the rice, the quesadilla was ok, I have had better and worse. My husband had a burrito and rice. We both agreed we would rate this place as a 7 out of 10. Total for everything(with 2 sodas) was a hair under $ 20, so I think the prices are fair here. We left the establishment and went out to our 10 year old economy car. Someone had thrown some kind of beverage(iced coffee?) against one side of our car. I wasn’t thrilled that this happened, but take it as a reminder that you might want to be careful with your belongings in this parking. That is Venice for you. ;)

Solid can’t miss funky, alternative, 4-star Cali-mexi restaurant. Think chronic tacos. What is Cali-mexi? French fries in a burrito. I had it in my carne asada with guac(guy gave it to me free as a newbie) and it was superb. Burrito looks smaller than it is. Absolutely no filler here, this thing is dense like the center of a black hole. Great price point too. Will drop by when I need a quick fix in the area.

Again, searching for the best carne asada fries, I tried this relatively new place(though they have an older location in Hollywood) on Lincoln. I came in at about 6:30 on a Thursday evening and it was not at all crowded, I guess word hasn’t gotten around about it yet. Friendly service, though I was a bit surprised at the length of time it took to get my fries – it looked like the cook was busy the whole time, though as I mentioned there were only a couple other people in the place. They have a half-order for $ 7 and a full order for $ 10. In my experience, full orders of carne asada fries are far too much food, so I went with the half. The fries came out, covered in cheese, guac, and sour cream as they should be. They also put ketchup-type containers of red and green salsa on my tray. The carne was great. And the fries were skinny and crispy, the way I like them. Altogether, the dish was great. My only complaints would be that 1) there wasn’t enough – the half order feels like not quite enough food for a meal – especially when most places give you much more, and 2) neither of the salsas were very spicy. It’s nice when at least one is. For those of you who don’t like spice, they may actually be too spicy for you, but for us people who like real Mexican, they can do better. While I was eating I overheard another customer asking if the carne asada fries were the most popular dish. The guy at the counter said actually, the California burrito is. Next time I’ll try that. Oh, and as for drinks – if you’re a fan of aguas fresca, don’t expect much here. They just have the standard mass produced horchata, Orange Bang, and one other(I can’t remember which one, Tamarindo, Jamaica?) And at over $ 2 each, I went with water. In short, best carne asada fries I’ve had in LA(first time they can even be compared to places in SD), but a bit on the small side.
