In venice for the a couple days so naturally we Unilocaled a few spots to eat dinner-up pops this establishment. Our group decides that this is where dinner will be. It is 8:40pm & they close at 10pm. Our airbnb happened to be less than a football fields walk away so we shimmied on out and headed over. We walked in at 9:10pm to be greeted by a lady that looked extremely perplexed like a group heard of cattle just entered. Us-«table for 4 please.» Host-«sorry, but we are not seating anyone right now» Us-vexed and checking the time we say«you guys close in 50 min, what do you mean?» Host-«our kitchen is closed right now, sorry.» I cannot make this story up people-I am not that creative ;) For the rest of the evening our group jokingly made fun of a restaurant for shutting down down pretty much 1hr early. One of the guys said«I bet the owner was not there so they were shutting things down early.» We end up leaving and found a little chinese gem right around the corner. Next day: My Fiancé decided he wanted the margherita cheese pizza so he placed a phone order then we all walked in to pick it up on the way to muscle beach. As soon as we arrived we noticed a man that seemed to be the owner(and was.) We asked him what time do they close on saturdays and he was very specific that«they serve UNTIL10PM.» We then tell him what happened and he stormed into the restaurant and asked the lady giving my fiancé his food(he has no idea that we just told the owner what happened) if she did not serve our group last night She lied and said it was not 9:10pm and we came in well after that. I heard my fiancé then ask the owner if he is referring to last night and the owner said«yes I am.» my fiancé said«she is lying and we were absolutely in here ready for dinner at 9:10pm» The owner apologized and walked away. Shutting down because you guys prematurely cleaned up and put everything away is just terrible. Owner could have easily made a couple hundred dollars more from us. 1* for what went down but 5* for that margherita pizza! It was delicious!

Everything about this place was delicious. The food was great, the service was attentive, and best of all it is priced low compared to the rest of the Venice restaurants.

Beautiful food, excellent service. Best Chicken parm I have ever had, highly recommend it if you’re in Venice Beach and want Italian food. Lunch was wonderful! Will be back.

Great find in Venice! I stopped by this charming little Italian cottage of cuteness and they were so friendly! I wish I had time to hang out and dine in their adorable patio, but alas, I needed something to go for my son. Their menu looked amazing– they were so sweet too. They went out of their way to make something fast and somewhat off-menu for my little one– a pasta dish that I knew he would like, and they included sooooo much food for such a small price! I have already told my husband that the next time we are in venice, this is where we are eating– right here in their little patio, that is quietly blocked off from the crowds by green shrubbery. It’s just a short walk from the beach and is probably the only restaurant in the area that doesn’t wreak of pot ;) Highly recommend stopping in– not just for the unexpected charming atmosphere, but for the great food and personal service. A rarity to find something like this here!

Restrooms!!! What a ridiculous excuse to try and discredit a 100% honest review. I was visiting a friend who lived 5 blocks away on Westminster, who had a perfectly good restroom. I wasn’t even the one who picked up the food!!! I felt so compiled to write the review because of how bad I felt about suggesting that we order Italian. What a sorry, sad excuse for a restaurant this place is. Instead of owning up to the poor product produced and taking the harsh criticism as a wake up call, someone took the time to try and shamefully lie about the source. This is exactly the type of establishment that ruins the validity of Unilocal.Go ahead Unilocalers, try for yourself, but be prepared to send your order back!!!

Thats not gelato what they are selling there. It was like market ice cream. Food was ok. And employees are friendly.

Good Greek salad and Alfredo. However, I would order the Alfredo WITHOUT the chicken. I was not a fan of the chicken. It almost taste like tuna to me. Yummy olive oil sourdough bread appetizers. Smaller portion on the pasta but salad was ok sized to share. Did not have wine. Service was fine. Nothing special but overall good.

The four of us went to dine at the restaurant. It was a bit unusual to see only two other customers in the main room. We ordered caprese for appetizer. We were given great crusted bread with garlic olive oil and balsamic vinegar to start. Our friend had a cup of minestrone. All was good and fast. For the main course we had fillet of sole, steak, pasta frutti di mare and fetuccine Alfredo. Everything was very tasty, in good tradition of italian cuisine. We had spumoni and tiramisu for desert. What a treat! Good place. Good service. Will come again when nearby.

This is the worst place where you can get ice cream, it’s says gelato outside and we came to find out it’s the crappiest and worst ice cream place ever.

I order the chicken fettuccini alfredo and my bf ordered the carne amore pizza. I give this place a 5 stars due to the wonderful hospitality. I loved it! Alfredo was absolutely delicious!

Great Pizza, delicious Gelato, and friendly staff. The strawberry cheesecake flavor was on point. One of the best patios to eat at around the Venice area. Support a local business and enjoy a great meal.

It’s nice to know that you can find at least one decent restaurant in Venice. I’m sure there are several as I am no expert in the area, but this Italian spot has the benefit of being among the first you see as you escape the boardwalk shenanigans and onto Windward Circle. The population density of pedestrians suddenly became a lot more manageable, and a human-size appetite came back to Jamie W. and me since we weren’t feeling adventurous enough to try any of the $ 2 fish tacos or cholesterol on sticks being sold in the stalls next to the beach. It shows up like a little country cottage with a pleasant gated patio area that was quite inviting to anyone looking for some quiet time before heading back to LA proper. It was clearly the owner who was seating and serving us as he was an older gentleman, presumably Italian by birth, who was quietly seeing to our needs at reasonable intervals, something he managed to so with dexterity as more customers gradually came into the patio. The menu was not overly creative but at least had the right choices for the undemanding diner — salads, grilled paninis, thin-crust pizza, and pastas. That would do for us, as we decided to share the $ 12.95 Caesar Salad upon the owner’s recommendation. It was standard issue with the romaine lettuce chopped in uniform pieces but good(photo: ). We then dove into the complimentary Bruschetta Toasts, which were a bit burnt at the edges, but hey, it was free(photo: ). Jamie ordered the $ 10.95 Meatball & Cheese Panini, a hearty sandwich stuffed with their own hand-rolled meatballs, sauteed bell peppers, red onion, mozzarella, and marinara sauce(photo: ). It was pretty tasty and filling with the meatballs well seasoned. For my main plate, I went for the $ 15.95 Spaghetti della Nonna with Bolognese Sauce(photo: ). While it was definitely a carb bonanza, the tomato sauce was a little watery which diluted the ground meat in the sauce. We definitely had our fill for a late lunch, and the weather was spectacularly warm, so much so that we hated to leave the shade of the umbrellas in the patio. I’m frankly not sure if this place would stand out to me in another neighborhood, but this bit of Italy was a welcome sight after all the junk food kiosks on the Boardwalk. FOOD — 3 stars… decent Italian food where the options are a bit slim for anything better AMBIANCE — 3.5 stars… comforting patio amid the character craziness of the area SERVICE — 3.5 stars… solid service from a been-around owner TOTAL — 3 stars… conventional but good Italian plates make this a decent post-Boardwalk option

I’d like to start off by saying, the negative reviews are coming from ignorant people. This restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever eaten at with the best customer service. I could easily and confidently say that this place deserves 5 stars. My boyfriend brought me to this restaurant on a lunch date after walking on the beach. The setting is perfect here, there is majestic music playing and a very kind server who also happens to be the owner, as well as the cook. We both ordered our meals without any expectations, little did we know the food would be so delicious and appetizing. I highly recommend the Spaghetti Della Nonna with the hand made meatballs. Although, I’m sure if you ordered something else it would be just as scrumptious. I’m very impressed by this restaurant. This place should be booming with customers as I wish I were an elite Unilocaler to spread the word, but until then this review will have to suffice. Thank you Sascha for your unbelievable food and service.

This restaurant is one of the best, if not the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. I have had a Unilocal account for a while now, but only now did I decide to write a review just because of how outstanding this place is. I’m currently eating the fettuccini alfredo and added grilled chicken to it and it is marvelous! The sauce is perfectly made. My girlfriend ordered spaghetti della nonna and got the meatballs with it. She gave me a bite of her meal and let me tell you, the sauce on that spaghetti is the best spaghetti sauce I’ve ever had. Considering spaghetti is my favorite dish, that’s a really big compliment coming from me. The place itself is really beautiful, located near the Venice Boardwalk. The outside tables are perfect for couples who want to go on a lunch date. The man who owns the place is also the server and the cook. He is such a friendly guy and complimented us about how surprised he was that we are a couple from Las Vegas lol. This restaurant is just really outstanding and I would definitely bring my girlfriend back here with me the next time we visit Venice. Or even with family or friends. Don’t get put off by the negative reviews! Try it out for yourself first. It’s definitely worth it.

Whoever wrote those negative reviews is clearly using Unilocal to carry out a personal vendetta… This place is incredible. If you want an authentic Italian outdoor café experience, look no further. I ordered the pennette alla vodka, which was delicious. Even the house salad was exceptional. If you’re an Italian cuisine aficionado, you will not be disappointed. Trust. As an added bonus, the owner is a total sweetheart. He runs the business, serves and cooks the food! I am so surprised this place isn’t packed. I hope this place gets the attention it deserves so Venice locals can keep this gem alive. It’s BYOB so be warned if you’re looking to have a drink, but the house-made espresso drinks are very good.

Gosh how I wish the owner of this establishment didn’t continue to be unnecessarily hostile. The pizza was very good and I wish the owner’s attitude didn’t cloud, and continue to cloud, the entire experience. Lowering my rating to one star, and none of us will ever be back…

Went here for dinner. Food was NOT good. Noticed they use a MICROWAVE in the kitchen from where I was sitting. I had spaghetti w/meatballs. The meatballs were obviously pre-made/frozen. Yuck yuck yuck! The sauce wasn’t great either. Tasted like Chef Boyardee! I had to add all the condiments on the table to my dish to make it palatable. My boyfriend, who loves pizza, ordered one and couldn’t finish his due to lack of flavor. While we were there, the owner had the sentimental muzak at high volume along with the television. It sounded psychotic. Maybe this place is better for brunch? I don’t think this guy knows what he’s doing. It could be SO much better with a better menu. One star for location.

I found this place after walking for an extremely long time trying to find food that was not boardwalk food. The food here is OK; kind of run of the mill — but probably the best Italian food I will find near Venice Beach. My server was extremely nice and very accommodating to me. I found the pricing to be very good and the speed of service was also very good. I had a house special lasagna bolognese with a Caesar salad. My meal began with starter of bread and flavored oil; it was very good and the bread was served warm. The restaurant has a quaint indoor dinning area as well as a pleasant outdoor seating area. My rating is mostly for the restaurant location, outdoor seating area, and service.

I came here for a girls night out. My friend texted me that it was BYOB which was nice because you save a lot that way and you can bring your own favorite vintage. The atmosphere is quaint but also very relaxing and fun for people watching. The patio was very comfortable on a summer night. The service was great. The owner Sacha really treated us like family. The food was really delicious and portions were just right. All had a homemade flavor. They serve a delicious garlic oil for the crusty and soft bread. We had the eggplant with prosciutto and salad with capers to start. Both were on point, delicious. The dressing for the salad was light and flavorful. For our main entrees we shared the shrimp scampi pasta(YUM) and the linguini with pesto chicken. Both were not too heavy but full of flavor and creamy. There were so many other dishes I want to try. For dessert we tried the tiramisu and cannoli. I loved the tiramisu the most. I wish it was a Friday night so that I could have some espresso. Overall, the food is a solid 5, the atmosphere is so Venice, laid back and relaxing. I will definitely be back with a nice bottle of red wine.
