Bigguns Sports Cards & Memorabilia

Are you kidding me – Carl the owner of this so called business is a thief. He took advanced of my mentally ill son by talking him into letting him show his prized possession… the autographed Nolan Ryan glove he won in little league. How low can you go to steal from the mentally ill. when my son went back to pick it up the store was closed and Carl doesn’t answer his phone anymore. Not sure who else he ripped off but we’re not going to let it drop. Beware of Carl… he is a snake in the grass!

Traipsing through downtown Ventura for the morning, I stumbled on a little gem of a store for sports cards and memorabilia enthusiasts – BigGuns Sports Cards and Memorabilia. The first thing that caught my attention was the screaming logo: a flaming, almost meteoric baseball streaking earthward. Not your usual collectible-​store logo!
I wasn’t disappointed. Owner and manager Carl welcomed me and my girl to his new store and showed us gleaming showcases featuring some great cards. It was really terrific to just chill and chat with the owner who proved to be not only extremely knowledgeable about sports (baseball in particular), but who was engaging and easy to talk to, unlike so many nerdy and creepy card store owners I’ve run across. :-) And one who actually gets out there and enjoys pick up games of basketball to unwind!
Part of the store is devoted to other memorabilia, notably some Star Trek dilithium crystals from the TV series (he assured me they would NOT power my iPhone longer than the stock lithium ions), part of a space shuttle, and some original Star Wars posters. Cool stuff for anyone looking to get their geek on!
