Jack in the Box

Quick rude service. Expectations aren’t high to begin with so they earned themselves 2 stars. This restaurant serves its purpose for late night munchies. Nothing more, nothing less.

I have been coming to this Jack in the Box since it opened, when I was in high school. It was so exciting to have a place you could buy something to eat after 10pm! And a drive through, too. Ventura was moving into the big league!
Now, the cheap tacos keep me coming back, as well as the occassional burger. The tacos aren’t the best around of course (I actually read they are vegan, with soy protein!). But they are still a great tasting snack when you pull into town at midnight and are hungry!

I paid for my breakfast jack, noticed that gloves were being warn (by the Manager) as my change was given. Then, without skipping a beat, back to making tacos with the SAME gloves? Who are they trying to protect?
Common sense please… Health inspector where are you?

The food here is pretty poor quality and on occasion they will get your order incorrect. This can be frustrating especially when you don’t find out until you get home. I am a fan of the value of Jacks munchie meal. It’s one of the best deals especially since you can get it past 9pm, the bewitching hour it seems for all of Ventura and restaurants. However even this deal falls short. The grilled cheeseburger has a weird white sauce and the party doesn’t even taste like beef. I guess that’s why the disguise it with the sauce and a lot of cheese. The tacos in the meal are also pretty bad often with an off-​colored lettuce and made with a nacho cheese. This can be somewhat masked by the hot sauce packets, but be certain to get those out of your car and into the trash! The explode and the smell doesn’t go away. The restaurant lobby is also 24 hours which is pretty cool, especially given the fact that there is a coca cola freestyle machine which lets you select basically any coca cola soft drink known to man, except to my disappointment blue powerade. There’s every other flavor, even unheard of ones like lemon powerade, except the blue one.

Girl at the drive thru window was very very rude didn’t acknowledge me when I said thank you multiple times & seemed to get upset that I asked for extra sauce. Food was good service was very poor.

This jack in the box is always satisfying they always have anything you want when you want it, on the other hand Carl’s jr across the street only wants to give you what they want when they want it, no chicken strips after midnight? Well Jack in the box says yes, breakfast at noon? Yes. Plus there’s a dentist across the reminding me to brush after my meal. Thank you JITB

I got here and the tables were gross and nasty the young man working stated he was told to wash tables by his boss but «they got Busy» people can’t sit at nasty tables. We got the wrong receipt and they f’ed up the order what a joke!

I came out for some to-​go one night and EXPLICITLY said for my entire order, «no cheese», and ordered the jalapeño munchie meal. When i arrived home, excited for my midnight snack, I was incredibly dismayed to find that EVERY ITEM in the box was smothered in cheese, except the fries. I understand that hiring standards at fast food places isn’t exactly going to be placed at Ivy League level, but I would assume even a fast food worker would understand the simple concept of NO CHEESE. It was late at night, so it was nearly empty and thus impossible for them to have been swamped enough to excuse such an error. I called to complain, and the guy essentially just said next time I go there, they will make it with no cheese. As for this meal, I was reduced to scraping the cheese off everything manually. Very disappointed, will not be returning to this establishment. Not lactose intolerant friendly at all.

Yet another place in Ventura I’m thankful has a drive-​thru (sit in the parking lot for 2 minutes and witness all sorts of nefarious activity)
That being said, give the Southwest chicken salad a try– blend of lettuce, three (always three) red onion slices, black beans, three or four cherry tomatoes, cheese, corn and your choice of grilled or crispy chicken. The dressing has a little kick and the crunchy corn sticks add texture. Hearty meal that won’t break the bank or explode blood sugar.

Manager (rude) is filling plastic bags with forks, condiments, etc for handing out during the day. Of course, the hacking cold and cough, which she doesn’t cover, is guaranteed to give ten percent or so of the days customers a special ‘gift’.
Where is Ventura’s health code inspector?
I did have a pretty positive attitude to the place. Several other places in town have ‘gifted’ strange bugs to me before, but until today, I thought these guys were just inconsistent with their friendliness.
Again, WHERE ARE VENTURA’S HEALTH INSPECTORS?
The management doesn’t correct this stuff because no one in town gets the huge slap on the wrist this warrants! DOZENS of customers TODAY will catch an illness because this woman felt her few dollars was more important that the publics health.
WITHOUT VENTURA’S HEALTH INSPECTORS GIVING A FLIP, no ones going to be able to prove them wrong!
As I write this, I’m remembering eating here yesterday; and, yes, I’m today starting to notice a cough. Could this be more than coincidence???

I love their salads. Jack in the box salads beat out other fast foods for sure, for reals. Why do peeps think this is expensive? $$$$?? Oh, that’s sad.

Terrible drive through, expect a wait of at least 10 minutes. They often mix up the orders and usually can understand the person taking your order. Do not recommend this location.

Horrible service and the «manager,» Jen, is rude. I just waited over 30 minutes for food at Jack in the Box! Nevermind the terrible restaurant, there must be something wrong with me!!!

i went here last night and it was awful. the soda was not cold and the hamburger i got tasted awful. complete waste of $ 3.20, will never come here again

We came through and used drive through. We ordered 2 breakfast combos and they repeated our ordered back to us at the ordering station and during the time of payment and pickup. They messed up on our breakfast sandwich and gave us the wrong kind of meat. We asked for sausage and they gave is bacon and ham. By the time we brought the food back to the hotel, it was too late and would take too much time to go back to Jack In the Box and complain.

Overall, great… occasional poor drive thru people… but food always good!

Went here many times when I was in college, they were voted the worst Jack in the box many years ago and ever since then they have always made sure to put out the best food. Can’t complain…
