This place is definitely a hidden gem! Tried it out yesterday with my fam and we loved it. The steak avocado sandwich was just amazing. Very friendly service. I’m glad I took all the Unilocal suggestions and tried it out.

Best Tuna Melt I’ve ever had! Salads are super tasty as well. It is a bit on the pricey side only downfall.

Menu looks extensive and from what I’ve tried over the years its all been fairly good, but nothing really amazing. The atmosphere is nice, and i’ve always encountered enough tables to sit and relax while you eat or wait. Service is ok, its usually always been staffed by unsmiling young girls that seem to want to be anywhere else.

What a little gem of a restaurant located next to Vons on Harbor Blvd. Friends had told me to try this place for years but have just now gotten around to it. The pizza is Heavenly and the prices are very reasonable. I’m looking forward to trying some of the other menu items very soon soon.

I called in a pastrami sandwich after work and it was hot and savory. I highly recommend adding a little mayo and doubling up on the pickles ;) the brownies they sell at the counter are definitely worth the 2+ they are a good way to seal the deal on this pleasant meal

Gone down hill. Used to be great Service and Great food. We would love to get pizza’s here. Much to be desired in the service area and not a big fan of there pizza’s anymore. Would much rather have Tony’s Pizzeria.

Pretty shitty experience. Called food in 15 minutes ahead of time for lunch and ordered a steak and avocado with no mushrooms and a meatball sub. When I got there to pay, the girl«checked» for no mushrooms. We left and when getting back to the other side of town, I opened up to eat and there were mushrooms on my sandwich with burnt bread. I drove back and told them. Meridians is always making mistakes but never want to drive back across town for a bad attitude. They re made it. I checked for no mushrooms while still there. That was fine. When I took a bite, the bottom half of my sandwich bread was rock hard. Care about the food you present and serve to your guests!!! Your food is expensive. And it seems every time I go, there’s ALWAYS a mistake. You need to make it the correct way, take pride in it and make sure guest is happy. Not roll your eyes and have an attitude.

I went here for the very last time today. I’ve gone about 10 times, and have never been impressed, but it’s convenient because it’s right by my house, so I keep going. I ordered the chicken soup to go and it took about 10 minutes for them to ladle the soup into a container and then microwave it. It was cold when I got home(3 minute drive). Besides it being expensive($ 6+ for a cup!), it was 90% broth with a few carrots, 3 small bites of chicken, and an un-melted piece of what looked like a chunk of string-cheese that the microwave couldn’t warm properly. A few other notes about the place: *It does actually have good food, usually. *However, this food is pretty expensive. $ 15 for a small pizza, $ 13 for a salad. *$ 8 to $ 10 for a 22 ounce beer. *It’s a self-service restaurant. You have to get your own soda, water, or beer(and open the beer) and go back up to the counter for your food when they call you. *I don’t mind tipping if I actually get service, but they don’t provide any service, yet they ask for a tip on the receipt when you sign your bill, before you even get your food. *Pizza is good when cooked properly, but it is often underdone to where the toppings all fall off the slice when you pick it up. *Located in between a bike shop and laundromat with a good amount of vagrants hanging outside around the strip mall. *Slow cooking times. I’m not usually this critical, most of my reviews are in the 4 – 5 star range, but this place is underwhelming.

Right around the corner from where I live and I had never been here. The pizza is great and I would recommend the cheese. The thin crust pizza is satisfying. My wife got a barbecue chicken sandwich with pineapple the staff recommended and they didn’t lead her astray. Their fountain drinks are great, Stubborn soda is natural and tasty.

This place is kind of a hidden gem, good vibes. I always eat here when I’m in the area. Try the grilled vegetable sandwich, it’s amazing! Nice local beer selection too.

Very disappointing. The sandwiches(chicken Sammy and Italian sub) were dry, tough, and lacked flavor. The focaccia was burnt and that is especially bad when the chicken is dry.

The food is good but the wait is ridiculous! Over 30 minutes for dine in and more than that for to go. It is very good and seasoned well but if you have kids, don’t come here because of the wait. The cheese is cold.

Wanted to throw in an update to my original review. Still a gem. Have tried many other menu items, still love my chicken sandwich but also love the capellini pomodoro. Simple angel hair pasta with tomato sauce and a great piece of garlic bread. Perfect meal for after my runs along the beach.

How convenient is it to text your order, receive a confirmation and a time estimate when your order will be ready! Pretty cool if you ask me. From the outside one who doesn’t know about Meridians and who isn’t Unilocal friendly might overlook the Café as its located in between a bicycle shop & laundry mat. Once inside the store is clean and well kept, tables are neatly spaced apart. I would not recommend this café for a party over 6 people as this is a quaint setting meant for wonderful meals and good conversations. I ordered the Meatball Sub, which came with a side salad of my choice, which were, Pasta, Macaroni, potato, and I’m blanking on the last one. I opted for the potato salad, which were red potatoes, the flavor profile had possibly a sour cream base, I couldn’t quite pinpoint what seasoning component was missing, I almost felt if they’d added a dash of celery salt it might’ve livened it up a bit, all in all not a bad salad as the potatoes were cooked perfectly and it was chunky, and not overly creamy which I prefer. The Meatball sub was delicious, I could only eat half of it, the bread was toasted perfectly and then topped with meatball slices in marinara sauce and topped with cheese. Each bite bursting with flavor, my taste buds hated to see the sandwich disappear … It’s only consolation being they can savor the other half for lunch tomorrow. I will definitely be back to try something new.

This place is my goto lunch spot whenever I am in the area. It also helps that I can do my laundry next door while eating some awesome food. The pepperoni pizza is to die for and the Roman(basil pesto, Gorgonzola, sun-dried tomatoes, and pines nuts) is one of the best pizzas I’ve had ever. However my stomach has found its new goto meal. You have got to try the Caprese sandwich with grilled chicken added. This sandwich would be my last meal if it all came to that! Keep up the good work folks and I will keep coming back AND sending my friends here. Cheers;

Lucky to have this place next my laundrymat. What better way to kill an hour that have a yummy slice of pizza paired with a couple beers or a glass of wine. As soon as you walk in you get that mom an pop vibe of a small gig with such big customer service from the workers. The décor is warm and welcoming perfectly to fit the theme of the restaurant. We ordered the Meridian Specialty Pizza, which consisted of 8 large slices(pls refer to my pic). Prices are quite reasonable, you definitely get what you pay for! I usually don’t eat crust from Pizza but I will at this place… It’s so tasty and not to crunchy on the gums. ***Love the idea you can TEXTIN your order or have it delivered.*** 8/19/14-Met the super chill owner, Greg and the same gal who helped us 2 wks ago remembered us, love that! Today we tried the Antipasto Salad and the Linguini Chicken Marsala pasta. Highly recommend BOTH dishes, enough to split between 2 people. We can’t wait to come back next week to try the highly recommended sandwiches!!! Fellow friends and customers pls shoot me a message if you have a specific Sammy that you recommended I try!!! Thank you in advance!!!
