Mimi’s Cafe

Less than stellar customer service, I was not impressed at all… I’ve been here before when they first open and customer service was a priority then and now it has fallen to the wayside…
I had the Cobb salad and it was very good, my friend had fish and chips and it was saturated in oil and he had to place the fish on a knapkin to soak up the excess oil,
The quality of the fish and chips didn’t reach my expectations of what I’ve had at Mimi’s in the past, I was very disappointed and
Am sure they are capable of producing a better quality meal than that.

I have eaten here several times and was pleased with the food. Tonight was a different story. Au Gra. potatoes were cold in the middle luke warm on the outside. Turkey was not hot and the dressing was barely warm. Needless to say food wasn’t great tonight.

Came here for a 9am Mothers Day reservation. Ordered a Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It was literally 2 small discs. It tasted good but not worth the money, plus the eggs were bland. I asked for sausage but received bacon. I asked to get my sausage and it took 10 min to get it and I was almost finished with my food. My gf ordered the croissant egg sandwich. That was delicious. I should have ordered that. Service was overall great, they kept refilling my coffee and water.
Overall you can get better quality food and bigger portions at Denny’s

Terrible .It was our first visit and last.3 egg omelet looks more like 1 egg omelet, Eggs Benedict was bland, and the ketchup they give u is more like 1 packet. there so called specialty muffin was crap!.. The only good thing was they opened the door for us on our way out.

I’ll keep this simple. My salad was ordered with NO chicken. At the bottom I found one small chew piece (picture attached). That’s not ok! The «chocolate chip» pancakes had only one pancake out of three with actual chocolate chips and they didn’t have the French pot roast at all. That’s three strikes. The server had an attitude, and didn’t seem to want to deal with us. Service was very slow. Drink took much longer than expected and we only got one kids snack cup for the kids to share? One got upset because the other had the only orange slice while the other had nothing. The problems were endless.

Service has been less than great on every visit. The place never appears to have much business. Like with many other places nearby, I feel this location will be closed in near future. I usually order a chicken salad. It’s pretty standard. Nothing special. Each time I visit I hope there is something memorable to make me want to come back looking forward to coming. The only thing I can remember about Mimi’s is the hair I found in my salad. Bummer, we need got eats in Ventura.

Sad to write such a bad review. But be warned! Seated quickly. Orders taken. Then nothing. Restaurant emptying. At last bread arrives. Eventually half the orders come. Where are the burgers? Ten minutes later they arrive.
My entrée: salmon with roasted potatoes. Ssoooo bad… Sauce was thick salty not edible. Roasted potatoes? Round french fries? Salmon overcooked. Ah well. But then I felt sick all night.

I have been coming here since the food was improved in 2014, and the coupons started coming. Prior to that, I avoided this restaurant. It seems that in 2016, they have relapsed. The cracked peppercorn steak is not a New York strip, but some cheap cut. It was so tough that my knife couldn’t cut it. The fries were good, but the green beans not (plain unsavory vegetable). The bread as usual was good, but could be improved. So, come on guys, stop serving me low quality food, and I’ll keep coming.

First time to a Mimi’s in about 10 years. So long I couldn’t remember anything about it but still had low expectations. Was with a group of 11. Got off to a rocky start when they sat us at a table that had a tablecloth that was filthy, stained and full of previous diner’s crumb. I mentioned that to the host who was apologetic — but also seemed a little surprised (?) that customers would point out something so «trivial». Nevertheless they did change the table covering. So there’s that. Waitress was way over her head. She was giving a commendable effort that was appreciated (and she had a good attitude) but there was a multitude of issues: people getting wrong plates, slow refills on drinks and food out of order (soup after entrees). Other restaurant issues included some lukewarm food and running out of common food like chicken. The pros of the place was they got us in exactly at the reservation time and it was cheap. Of course I went in with low expectations so I can’t fein that much surprise. But still giving this warning to fellow Unilocalers that this place is still a bit weak even for casual chain dining.

Foodbwas fantastic and the pumpkin muffins were the best I have ever had! To top it off I got two free muffins for it being my first time!

This place is delicious. They have such a fun and friendly atmosphere. I ordered a special and it was a tomato and mozzarella with basil Omelet and then I added bacon. HEAVEN. Most breakfasts come with their Mimi’s potatoes (ahhh so so yummy!) and fresh made muffin, croissant or toast. It was so good I had to go back the next day which happened be Sunday and it was a whole lot busier then you the day before. Thankfully that had delicious coffee cake and hot apple cider for you while you waited. Can’t wait to go back!

3 stars because I have had GREAT experiences with breakfast but lunch is just bland. I cannot speak for dinner since I have never had it. But I would have to say I would definitely come back for breakfast, eggs benedict is very good along with other items, and the muffins are to die for, so moist and just dang delicious. As for lunch, I got the french dip sandwich and was quite disappointed. It was one of the most boring things I have tasted. Probably something Luke Skywalker was forced to eat on Tatooine during the off season in the moisture farms. Dry, lacking in flavor, aju sauce was bad.
Thank you Mimi’s for breakfast! I will return in the AM. As for lunch, no thanks unless I hear the menu/​chef/​cooking style has changed.

The food here is really overpriced and bland. I had the aju sandwich and it was very bland. The meat was devoid of flavor and there was no cheese on it. The aju just tasted like salt. I went again and had a slightly better experience with the chicken and waffles but it too was overpriced and was not filling. Even the baked muffins have something off about them and certainly do not taste fresh. The service is okay.

Our food took over an hour to come out to us. Maybe we shouldn’t have sat on the patio. I really think they took our order and then forgot about us.

I’ve been here a couple of times in the last couple of weeks and I’ve loved it every time. The ambiance is nice and the food taste great. I had the Santa fe omelette and it was delicious.
I’ve only been here for breakfast so I don’t know how their lunch and dinner entrees taste. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good breakfast.
Service is also good and they have a full bar!

I love this Mimi’s! We came here after an appointment since our normal one is in Thousand Oaks and I was pleasantly surprised. This one was just as good if not better than our local one! Our server was really friendly, always on top of our drinks and the food came out very fast which was great since we were starving.
Highly recommend the eggs Benedict!

We regularly visit with a large group.
The service is alway excellent and the group enjoys the diversity of menu items. We return on a regular basis because of the overall quality and value.

It’s the 2^nd time having breakfast at Mimis Café and I haven’t been dissapointed yet.
Casual, cozy, and calm ambient delivers a delightful dining experience. About the food, what can I say… it’s prepare delicately to give your palette a slap of flavor. Presentation and portions are pleasant both to the eye and tummy.

Just had the worst service ever. Our first server took our drink & appetizer order and informed us we would have a new server, she was off. After waiting for a very long time, with no acknowledgement from any one, she came back and took our order. It took another very long time for food to arrive. When it did no dressing accompanied the salad. Waited 10 minutes and finally got up and asked another worker for it. In the meantime my friend was just about finished eating. Our server never came back to check on us. Other patrons seemed to be having the same experience. Don’t think I’ll be going back.

We came here on Mothers Day and the service was great despite the large dinner crowd. The appetizers were nothing special but everyone was happy with their main course. I had the chicken crepes and they were pretty good. The interior of the restaurant looked a bit tired and could have been cleaner. Overall we all agreed that the restaurant was ok but nothing special.

When we got here we waited for over 15 minuets just to get drinks, and it seemed that they forgot about us. Overall the service was bad. The food took what seemed forever. The food was pretty good but the bad service will prevent me from returning.
