We moved to Ventura three years ago. We would drive to Arts Deli in North Hollywood to get our Jewish Deli cravings satisfied. Lucky for us we have Danny’s in our city. Theys are authentic, reasonably priced and the service is ALWAYS outstanding. The food is always hot and fresh. Stuffed cabbage is amazing, matzo ball soup too and now my new favorite beef shepherds pie!!! They have the best cooks I feel. Its out of this world. We love Danny’s. Not to mention that my children always get spoiled with chocolate milk and whipped cream on top. Love it

I have been going here since I was a young age. The staff is always friendly, the chicken noodle soup with bagel chips is the best. A lot to choose from. any sand which I’ve tried has been great. the French dip is my number one. If your around stop in and give it a try. Hey even enjoy a complementary pickle with some good mustard

So good! I always get a sky high corned beef sandwich and a cream soda. Best corned beef sandwich in the county. The waitress knows my order when I come in and it makes for a lovely experience.

A little«hole in the wall» with local flavor and east coast deli flare. Don’t miss out of the pies

I’ve lived near this restaurant for years and never knew what an awesome place it was! Phenomenal service and delicious food. It being a deli, I opted for the pastrami dip for lunch. Hands down the best pastrami I’ve had, tender and juicy. The roll was fresh and soft and it was prepared perfectly. Looking forward to returning and trying out some of the breakfast specials!

Excellent Black and White cookies! Neither the chocolate(black) or vanilla(white) frostings had too intense of a flavor(mellow-ish) and were not too hard or soft(right in the middle). Both tasted very good on their own and also very good together. The cookie itself was«cakey,» but in a good way. Made fresh at Danny’s daily, which is a huge plus. In my Black and White rankings, this B&W ranks high.

Danny’s delivers. I have eaten here a few times. The food is good, reasonably priced, done to order and delivered by friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable staff. The place is clean, open, and not too loud. Many of the customers are well know to the staff. Imagine Mary Richards running a diner and this would be it.(Google her) I highly recommend their 1⁄3 pound hamburger to accompany the tableside pickles. That pickle is a meal in itself! No photographs, I was too busy eating.

Stopped in for take out today on my way to work. Staff super friendly and helpful with all my order questions. Sandwich(California size) was enough for lunch and dinner. The homemade chips were crunchy and warm. The pickle of course, delicious. My only complaint was the cost. $ 12.31 for a sandwich seemed steep.

We love Danny’s and go there often with our whole family. This morning was the first time I wasn’t happy with my food. Stay away from the matzo brei, it’s really dry. I’ll be back though.

Always heard lots of things about this place so decided to check it out for lunch. Really disappointed. Food was bland I ordered the patty melt burger had no seasoning onions were hardly grilled. Seemed like a place that seniors like to go maybe why the food was so bland. I won’t be back for sure wasn’t worth $ 15. The jar of pickles on the table was rather off putting too I didn’t know what was lurking in there :(

I had the monte cristo it was amazing ! Very crunchy outside looked like maybe corn flakes in that batter. Melted cheese, hot ham, hot fresh turkey, great strawberry jam to go with it. My brother in law had a Ruben and fries, his plate was completely cleaned need I say more? We were both satisfied with our full happy bellies. My only concern was, when I asked our server if there were onions in the potato salad she said NO… Trust me there Were a lot and bell peppers too ! Killed my food buzz.

Danny’s is great. The chicken Mazto-Ball Soup is the best I’ve had with white meat chicken, rich delicious broth and a few perfect carrots. and I don’t even like carrots. Knocks the socks off a competitor deli that I will not name(but it;s the same name as a street in Bevelry Hills). Great friendly service and still has pickles right on the table. mae to order sandwiches. The Ruben was Huge and made two meals for my husband. Oy Vey!

I have been frequenting this restaurant for 10 years, never had a bad experience. The food is delicious. My favorite is the Asian chicken salad. Really everything is good. And the time frame for service is good also. Good service friendly people.

My boyfriend and I recently visited Danny’s Deli and overall I was quite pleased with the experience. We came in about a week before Christmas and the restaurant was very busy. That being said, we were seated quite quickly and the attention we received from our waitress was surprisingly fast. The diner looks like your standard mom and pop restaurant. Maybe slightly dated with the 90’s looking pics on the wall. Also the seating area may be slightly too condensed during busy eating hours. We managed to get a booth, but very closely there are 2 person tables that look awkward to sit at. The hosts do their best to spread people out. We both ordered our favorite go-to options, myself: Ruben, my boyfriend: Turkey Club. My Ruben sandwich was almost perfect. The only bad thing I can say about it was the messy factor. I ended up cutting it up with a knife and fork because it was falling apart but the flavor was absolutely amazing. I would definitely order this again. My boyfriends Turkey club was«really delicious». He is the biggest turkey club fan and ranks this within the top 3 most delicious in Ventura County. I know they are famous for the giant jars of pickles on the table, but I didn’t like the idea that it is a community pickle jar(just my opinion) so I never tried them. If you are in the mood for yummy diner food, stop by. I think it has something for everyone. Next time I go, I will be trying the breakfast menu because that seems to be where most diners excel.

The food was ok. Nothing spectacular. We ordered Kreplah soup and they only had chicken Kreplah. It was ok. The matzoh ball soup was good. The service was very good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The reason for the one star is because I ordered ½ pastrami sandwich and the waiter asked me what I wanted on it, the only thing I ordered was mustard and THEYCHARGEDME50 cents TOPUT A SPOONFULOFMUSTARDONMYSANDWICH! which I don’t understand because there is free mustard sitting on the table. Had I know I would have put it on myself! That is so absurd. We will never come back for that reason alone

This place simply serves AMAZING food. After better than a half dozen visits, including bringing family here from out of town who enjoyed it as well I love this place! I’ve had the Pastrami sandwich(Amazing), Fish and Chips(great taste but could serve a larger portion of fish), Biscuits and Gravy(great gravy), and for dessert, the cookies are fresh baked, try the snicker doodles. The staff has always been very friendly and motivated to serve you quickly. Each table has a big jar of amazing pickles to enjoy before or during your meal. I love to order the special that comes with pastrami and turkey on a fresh baked role.(See photo) and comes with fries

I have been here a number of times and I usually get the corned beef Reuben on sour dough with sauerkraut and onion rings. The place looks like an old diner but the food is good and the prices are reasonable. Everyone who I have eaten there with likes it. The onion rings are delicious and the food portions are large. You will definitely leave stuffed if you don’t share a meal.

Deciding to come back to this place really took a lot of convincing, that was how bad my first experience was. But this time it was like I was visiting a completely different restaurant. First of let me just say that our waitress(brunette, short hair) I wished I remembered her name, was really nice, patient and helpful. I liked that she gave us her own feedback regarding the food and also offered up some suggestions based on the top picks from the regulars. Having a good experience from the service so far I was already starting to get a good feeling about the food. While waiting for my meal, I got a chance to try their table side pickles and mustard. They were very tasty and even though I prefer my pickles cold, the crunchiness and taste really do stand on their own. Now on to the food, what can I say, the first time I tried the food here, I was really not pleased at all, I’m not sure if was just an off day or what but this time the chicken noodle soup was really something else. I decided to have a small cup of it with my sandwich and man was it good! I also tried my wife’s potato salad because, again, the first time I tried it, it felt like it came out of a Costco container, but not this time. This time it truly tasted fresh made, I could see he off cuts on the onions and the fresh taste of the potato mixture. It was really like a whole different place. I had the double decker Turkey and Hot Pastrami on Grilled Rye… Very very delicious. I was torn between this and ordering the Patty Melt, but I went with our waitress’s recommendation and I’m glad I did! All in all, my experience with the food, the service and the whole visit was truly night and day compared to the first time. I know my first review had a lot of passion in my review and it made the owner respond the same way, but it was only because of the respect and love I have for food in general. I thought that is was just another place where the owner really didn’t care about what was being served in their own restaurant. After my visit today, I now know that it is clearly not the case here. The waitress told me the story of the chicken soup recipe and how it came to the restaurant and I then felt respect for the owner for keeping it from being served until they got the recipe right. In closing, I’d like to tell all my Unilocal followers out there, that this is really a place you can trust to serve you a great tasting meal and if you are in the area you should give Danny’s Deli a try.

Danny’s deli is a good place to go if your in the mood for a classic deli sandwich. They have good breakfast too. I had a Reuben sandwich with potato salad which was good but the potato in the salad was kind of hard. My husband had the pastrami dip with potato chips which he liked. Our friend had biscuits and gravy with sausage but the gravy was cold. There homemade pickles are the best.
