Just a heads up, the tasting room is closed and there is no indication on the sign out front when it will be open again.

Guy working behind counter was buzz kill. He used to work production side but was recently promoted to working the counter. Suggestion, not necessary to walk outside to check the weather to verify if I should be wearing a coat or not; secondly, when talking wineries if I mention Paso Robles, refrain from giving a geography lesson«that is a region, not a winery». Paso Robles was not meant as a disc to this«boutique» winery. I’m learning boutique means no plans to expand operations, we’re profitable now, customer service not a high priority. Tip-pick another winery not so close to the freeway, go deeper in the«region.»

We were excited to start our full girls weekend get away in Ojai at this winery. The place itself is gorgeous with an incredible view. I was happy to hear that dogs are welcomed in their outdoor area where we were happy to find a huge picnic table to hold all our snacks and keep us there comfortable for our tastings. I enjoyed my time there but didn’t leave with a great experience if I base it on their service. The wines were pretty decent in taste but the reason why I deducted the stars was because I didn’t feel welcomed at all. I felt that our group of friends was not getting the same fair treatment as the other groups there. We had tastings and even bought some bottles to drink at our picnic area. Needless to say, the attention from the hosts was not great and it left me not wanting to go up to them for my tastings. That shouldn’t happen. Their customer service should be friendly and warm towards everyone! Even just small talk would help but it was just like here’s your tiny pour and they would just move on to the next person. They never really talked to us about the wines or even cared to know if we liked them. Poor customer service.

Winery has changed hands and the tasting room is no longer open. Call first to verify for yourself if you’re planning to try and go.(4 stars to match the current rating as this is not a real review)

Friendly hosts. Pleasant surroundings. Whether you are a discerning wine enthusiast or a newbie, you’ll find friendly hosts and guests. If you want a picnic bench on the grounds, call ahead and make reservations.
So I had some family visiting from out of town, including my cousin with her year old daughter. Not wanting to commit to a Santa Barara length drive, I looked for closer options. All of the wineries in Malibu I spoke with seemed quite snobby, and didn’t allow anyone under 21, even during a low key tasting. Luckily I found this place which is family friendly, and even had toys for the babies! Also, there’s a very friendly cat and some awesome dogs running around, one with a wheelie thing because his spine was injured in a car accident. He’s a trooper nonetheless! Oh yea, the wine :) it was great! Ans the winemaker was on site to tell us the history if each pour and more wine knowledge. We ended up getting two bottles, yum! Also, they encourage picnics on their sunny porch. Overall, if you want a chill wine tasting closish to LA with a family friendly atmosphere and great wine, come here!

This is a delightful winery in the canyon between Ojai and Ventura. The location is amazing, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxing. For $ 10 the wine tasting list is long, and you move through a varied menu of different grapes. The wine may not be the best, but the atmosphere gives Old Creek a high rating. Choose the time you go carefully, as it gets crowded. Weekdays are best.

Not wanting to schlep over to Los Olivos from LA, I wondered whether there were any wineries in the Ventura County area and was pleased when I stumble across quite a decent list of wineries. Four of them are grouped together near Ojai and Old Creek is my hands down favorite of the lot. If you’re looking for a relaxing, pastoral, friendly place to enjoy some quality wine and food with the company of family and friends, then look no further. If you’re using Google maps, be careful with the directions. It had me go on Creek Road(not Old Creek Rd) and led me onto someone’s farm. Pleased this was not Texas and I was not shot at for errantly trespassing, I tailed it back to the main road. If you’re coming up from Ventura, make a right onto Old Creak Rd, right by the giant sign for Apple Cider and then take the road until it dead ends. The winery is located on a ranch that hugs the surrounding hills. It definitely feels more like a farm or a ranch than a vineyard. Both Old Creek and Vino V brands are offered here so if you’re checking in online, don’t be confused. There was a $ 5 for $ 10 coupon at Vino V if you wanted to purchase ahead of time. The tasting room is located in a pleasing red clapboard building up the driveway. It has a wonderful, unassuming rustic feel. We had 10 tastings for $ 10. Are you kidding me? That’s an incredible deal. I was a bit apprehensive about the experience when I read some of the previous reviews, but we had no issues. If anything, everyone was so frie

Whew! We had to take a seat! The $ 10 tasting(which lets you sample a total of 10 wines in house, red and white mix) had us a little light headed, but in a good way. I needed more lipstick to match my flushed face. Haha. Nice people. REALLY nice property. Large porch/deck area shaded by trees. Ahhhhhhh… I loved it here. Dropped $ 35 for a 2011 Primitivo. Oh yea! Stay thirsty.
