We had my 8-​year old daughter’s ears pierced by Tabytha, and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Tabytha is a professional through and through; she is extremely safe and sanitary, and she is also gentle, patient and kind. It’s been 4 months since my daughter’s piercing, and it’s been the most painless, easy piercing healing I’ve ever seen. Whether you’re 8, 18, or 80, rest assured, Tabytha will take great care of you.

I just left from getting my septum pierced and not only will I be going back to finish my sleeve but Niles (the guy that pierced me) was the kindest most sweet and knowledgeable guy. He answered all my questions, kept conversation flowing and made sure to keep everything he used sterile. I just got my earlobes re-​pierced years after being scared off by a mall kiosk experience gone bad (aka infection). Tabytha was incredibly patient with all of my questions and concerns, really taking her time to fully inform me of the piercing process as well as healing and maintenance. She was outstanding in care, cleanliness, and explaining everything. I felt very well-​taken care of and I can’t recommend her enough!

Here was my dilemma – should I and my 11-​year-​old daughter go to the mall for our ear piercings? Knowing full well that a mall piercing involves getting a shot in the ear from a piercing gun – the old-​school technology, which rips your flesh – and worse, knowing that the plastic of the piercing gun cannot be autoclaved (medically sterilized)? And even more dreadful, knowing that the sales clerks who do the piercings in mall shops have a mere two weeks worth of training? So go to the mall or go to a piercing professional?
I wouldn’t have hesitated about going to a piercing professional – it makes more sense on every level: piercers undergo extensive training (some for two or more years); they are strictly regulated; they are extremely responsible for sanitation; they have great respect for the kind of medicine that they practice. Piercers use the best technology, the best techniques, and the most modern earrings (Piercings by Tabytha uses all-​titanium, just like medical professionals). A professional piercer does nothing but piercings – they are specialists. They are experts. They are not selling earrings, they are selling piercings. And they have your interests – and your satisfaction in mind.
All of this ought to be a no-​brainer. But as a mother of a young gal, I worried about what kind of atmosphere I’d find in a piercing studio – which often goes hand-​in-​hand with tattoo parlors. I’d never set foot in a tattoo studio, so I didn’t know what to expect. Would I inadvertently be exposing my daughter to something scary? Well, I thought I at least ought to check it out and ask some questions. So I walked into Ventura Tattoo and Piercings by Tabytha (which share a space on Main St.) and was greeted by the most charming, intelligent, and articulate young man who was respectful, gentle, and happy to answer all of my questions. I made an appointment for later in the day.
When we returned, Tabytha and her wonderful assistant (who had greeted me before) took such excellent care of us. It ended up being not just a positive experience, but a HAPPY one in which we were treated respectively and – dare I say it? — lovingly. Tabytha is gentle, professional, knowledgeable, meticulous, and sympathetic. Her assistant, I have already described. I felt we were in such good hands that I cannot imagine going anywhere else. There is just something wonderful about going to professionals who love what they do – it’s a win-​win for everyone. I highly recommend Piercings by Tabytha (and when her assistant starts doing his own piercings, I feel certain he will be fantastic too). The experience was delightful from top to bottom. You simply cannot judge a book by its cover – ask questions and judge by who is the most knowledgeable and caring.

I love Tabytha, she is always so patient and accommodating! I always have a million questions when I go in even when I already know the drill. She never seems like she is getting irritated with me which is awesome cause most piercers just brush you off when you aren’t just a quick customer. I’ve been to a few other places throughout the years and I have always had some kind of problem, but not with anything by her or even anything I’ve gotten at her shop. This girl knows her stuff!

Got my conch pierced on July 13^th 2012– they had a $ 13 deal since it was Friday the 13^th so I though why not I’ve been wanting it for three years now. I was a bit nervous at first but I seriously had no reason to be– it was fast and didn’t hurt and so far I have no complications. :)

I got my left tragus done by Tabytha almost 2 years ago and she was great. She explained the procedure and make it relaxing. When I went back for the other she wasn’t in but someone else took care of me (he no longer works there) but messed it up. I was unhappy so I went back in and she fixed it for free. Since then, she has done all of my other piercings and I recommend her to family and friends all the time. =)

Tabytha is hands down the best piercer! i got my septum and second ear holes pierced by her. she also helps me out with my ear stretching. she’s very knowledgeable and i know i can always trust her! she’s also really sanitary and gives very clear after care instructions. i’m never going to anyone else!

Tabytha had a clean and sterile piercing room, and was very friendly and helpful through the entire process.
I felt like I was in good hands the entire time, and my piercings ended up healing perfectly. Everything was perfectly centered and looked great. I’m glad I listened to my friends and went to her first.

Tabytha is a wonderful piercer. She is really quick and the piercings are virtually painless. I’m afraid of needles and when she did my belly ring and 3^rd ear lobe piercings, I barely felt the needle. She is also extremely knowledgable and gave me a lot of useful advice for gauging my ears and aftercare.
The one thing I do not like about the experience is that she bad mouths other piercers. It’s just extremely unprofessional and the reason why I found a new piercer close to home. I also felt kind of rushed, and as someone who is afraid of needles, that just didn’t work for me.
Wonderful technique, but didn’t really pay any attention to the overall experience a customer is coming to her for.
